All eyes turned to the pale-faced figure that walked into the ward calmly. Not to mention that he was wearing a hospital gown and looked completely out of place.

"Although the old man is in the late stage, there is still hope for him to live. It is just that he has been given the wrong treatment which worsened his health condition."

The people in the ward were shocked. How could this strange man easily diagnose what even the miracle doctor couldn't discern?

Doctor Andrew frowned and snorted, "Who are you? Are you lost? If you are searching for a doctor, head over to the reception for help. This is not a place you should be."

Maverick's brows arched and his lips curled into a sneer, "Are you the miracle doctor? I think you are just a fraud."

Everyone's eyes widened at his words. Doctor Andrew's facial expression changed and his fists clenched in anger. From a young age, he has been known as an exceptional genius.

He completed his studies years earlier than the usual age. He earned a certificate of excellence in Medicine from one of the world's best universities abroad and even earned another degree from the Imperial Capital University of Medicine here in Atlantis country.

He is the youngest member of the association of Divine Physicians in Atlantis. He has saved thousands of lives, earning high respect home and abroad.

He has no record of failure in all his cases and no one has ever dared to question him before. How dare this nobody come in from nowhere and slander him?

"Who are you? Are you aware of the implications of your words?" Liam perused Maverick coldly.

He was a bit wary of this person who seemed to exude a strange aura despite being cladded in a shabby hospital gown. He also looked quite confident in what he was saying.

"Sebastian, do you know who—" Before he could complete his words, Sebastian already walked forward.

"Mister, it's good to see that you are awake but you shouldn't be here. I already settled the bills."

"I know. The nurse informed me. Thank you for saving me," Maverick lowered his head slightly.

Although he was in pain last night, he was well aware the car didn't get to him. Sebastian could have chosen to flee and leave him by the roadside to avoid any implications. But he didn't do that and even footed his hospital bills.

"For saving me, I'll treat your grandfather. If he doesn't get proper treatment now, he will die."

Sebastian's eyes lit up at his words and he instinctively reached out to grab Maverick's sleeves. "Sir, did you mean what you said earlier? Can my grandfather really be saved?"

"Yes," Maverick nodded and glanced over at the old man who was turning increasingly white each second. "But he is running out of time."

"Sebastian, are you out of your mind?" Liam pulled Sebastian back. "How can you play with your grandfather's life and believe the words of a stranger? He is a patient himself. For all we know, it might be the anaesthesia speaking."

"Young master Huxley, I'm very disappointed. You are willing to let anyone treat your grandfather even if he is an unlicensed doctor. Tell me, will he magically reverse the medical report I just gave?" Doctor Andrew no longer hid how offended he was and chided Sebastian harshly.

"Right... Do you think you are a god, young man? How can you tell with a glance that the old man can be saved? His organs have already failed. Even the best doctor in the world will be helpless!" Another doctor chimed in.

Maverick ignored all of them and just looked at Sebastian. "It's up to you to believe me or not. I only want to save your grandfather as a way of repaying you. If you are skeptical, I will leave right away but your grandfather will die."

BEEP!

BEEP!

The vital health monitor machine made louder rapid sounds in the ward as everyone watched to hear Sebastian's decision.

"I believe you," The young man looked at Maverick nervously but with a firm expression. "As long as you can save my grandfather, my Huxley's family will be indebted to you."

His words made Doctor Andrew's eyes contract and a glint of malice flashed in them as he glared at Maverick hatefully.

"Okay," Maverick nodded dutifully and made a suggestive remark. "But please, inform the quacks to step aside."

The faces of all the doctors in the ward turned green. Doctor Andrew was the angriest. His face was so red he almost exploded with anger.

"You... Who are you calling incompetent?! Master Sebastian, Master Liam, if anything goes wrong, you will take responsibility for the consequences."

"Since Sebastian believes him, let him. But if anything happens to grandfather, I will personally chop up his body and feed it to the dogs," Liam's cold eyes locked with Maverick's.

For a minute, Liam thought he saw a hint of amusement in the man's eyes. What? Is this bastard looking down on him?

BEEP!

The vital health monitor machine suddenly made a shrill sound and a doctor shouted in alarm, "The patient's heart is failing!"

Immediately, five doctors rushed forward. Doctor Andrew was the first person to reach the old man. "Wait, don't—" Maverick's voice drowned in the chaos.

"Grandfather," Sebastian staggered back, watching the machine which was displaying curved waves turn to a straight line.

"Pass the box!" Doctor Andrew yelled and was immediately given a wooden box. He brought out some silver needles and immediately pierced three into the old man's head.

However, the man's face remained white and unresponsive. Doctor Andrew sighed heavily and stepped back. Everyone's hearts clenched. It was too late. The doctors lowered their heads in regret.

"Step aside," Maverick suddenly walked forward and snatched the box out of doctor Andrew's hands.

He picked up some of the remaining silver needles and began to pierce the old man's body without batting an eye.

"You... The old man has already passed away. How dare you disrespect the dead?!" Seeing his actions, Doctor Andrew was livid.
