Chapter 122: Last chance

A few moments later, Mr. Whitman decided to call him. With his phone ringing, Leander, at first hesitant, decided to pick up the call, raising the phone to his ear.

Taking a deep breath, Leander answered the call. "Hello, Mr. Whitman," he said, his voice measured.

"Leander," Mr. Whitman began, his tone unusually humble. "I know I've made mistakes. I'm calling to apologize personally and to ask for your help. Ah, my company is in serious trouble."

Mr. Whitman hesitated, then sighed. "You're right, Leander. I should have handled it better."

Leander's expression softened slightly. "Okay, good. Make things right with her, and then we'll talk." He ended the call, staring at the phone for a moment before setting it down with a sigh.

Mr. Whitman's deep gasp echoed through the phone as he was shocked by Leander's request. He never wanted to beg Lindsey as a lady because it was almost embarrassing for him to beg her.

"Are you still there?" Leander asked sharply as Mr. Whitman remained silent.
