Chapter 200:

As the evening dragged on, Leander kept his focus on the meal, but his mind was still stuck on Camila. Something wasn’t right, and he couldn’t shake the feeling. Dorian was laughing, enjoying the food, completely unbothered by the tension that had crept into the room. But Leander noticed the smallest of things; Dorian’s fingers tightening slightly around his wine glass every time Camila’s name was mentioned.

After the meal, they both headed back into the mansion’s larger sitting room. Dorian waved Leander toward a leather armchair, offering him a cigar, but before Leander could accept, Camila walked back into the room, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor. She held her glass of wine, swirling the liquid inside with a distant expression on her face, clearly lost in thought.

"Ah, there she is," Dorian said, though his tone was slightly off. His eyes followed Camila’s every movement as if he was trying to anticipate her next step.
