Chapter 02

Grar! ~ It thunders as Lyndon Dareca wakes up!

“Sir!” lyncons Campaign officer had found Lyncon unconscious and rushed him to the hospital.

“My kids!” Were lyncons firsts words as he got up.

“Sir! Please don’t forget we have a campaign to attend to and a lot of voters are looking up to you, being a joke of a politician has made you popular, but since you mentioned Kids for the thousandth time, I got information on them and can drive you there.” His manager Loki informs him.

“Please.” Lyncon pleads as he follows behind till he had reached his wicked mother in laws mansion.

Soon he reached in and unfortunately he had stormed into the family general meeting.

“I heard this pauper wants to mock our entire family by trying to become Governor?” Lyncon's Mother inlaw roars in disgusts as Lyncon enters the parlor where all his wife's relatives were gathered to mock him.

He was conversant with his mother in-laws' hatred towards him, since she wanted her daughter Sonia to marry a Billionaire instead of a hustler like him.

“Kneel down and ask for forgiveness immediately!” A voice from the family meeting being held elapsed.

Lyncon had to be extremely hard working to protect his marriage because he bagged a daughter and a son too who needed him.

This earned him a little respect at his wife's family although Sonia wanted a billionaire as a husband, Not someone who spends his twenty four hours working like an animal to buy her cheap Diamonds.

“You think I need this trash?” His wife abuses as she slams her so called cheap diamond necklace and ring over his face that it even injures him.

“Sonia! My wife, why? You even threw my things away?” He asked, confused to have seen his clothes outside the compound littered up and down.

She had always been a witch to him.

Although on Lyncon's side, With the little influence and connections he had built, he decided to take a big step in his life by contesting to become Governor, and this was the main problem.

Since his wife's best friend, who wanted Sonia for himself; Mr. Huston felt challenged and decided to compete for the same Governorship position that Lyncon wanted for his own self!

Making Lyncon suffer in his Marriage so he can have Sonia - Was Huston's plan.

So destroying Lyncons spirit through a divorce with his wife and setting him up to destroy his goals would keep Lyncon below him.

Together, Sonia, Huston and the entire family began to Plot against Lyncon, as they hated him because to them, Lyncon was a huge disappointment.

“Sonia, I hope we're good, did you call on a meeting to report me again? What did I do this time to deserve this humiliation?” Lyncon asked as he walked towards his wife, to understand better.

“Kpaa!” She slams him a hard dirty slap as she turns to look at Mr. Huston for protection and Lyncon chuckles with a red eye as he was hurt and even more lost!

“No, it can't be what I am thinking?” Lyncon said as he held his wife's waists but she wickedly broke a wine bottle over his head shocking him.

“Step down Lyncon!” His mother - inlaw orders like the law behind him, whilst taking her expensive wine, manipulatively trying to intimidate him to let Huston win.

“It will never happen!” Lyncon disagrees despite their acts of shaming him.

He had grown out of their disgrace.

“How dare you?... Did you forget that you live in my daughter's house and depend on us?” His mother in-law growls at Lyncon before she splashes her really hot coffee over him with Lyncon looking back at Sonia, wondering if she was now mad?

“Lyncon... Listen to me... Mr. Huston is a billionaire, he is more fit to become the Governor, I know you have the citizens support, why don't you endorse Mr. Huston and I promise to ensure that you'll finally have peace in your marriage?” His mother in-law requested of him wickedly!

“And if I don't?” Lyncon asked.

"I will go ahead with the divorce and you will be on your own poor fool!" His wife Sonia threatens their marriage again.

“Not just that alone, because we will burn your career and everything you love alive, right before your eyes.” His mother in law strikes a deal but it made Lyncon laugh at her empty threats.

His laugh created a fear of his Aura!

“I might live in your daughter's house, but gone are those days when I lacked money to survive, I worked hard for my family, to buy Sonia those expensive jewelries she calls trash and to take care of my children, I succeeded without your help!” Lyncon fired back and everyone was shocked.

They never believed Lyncon could be so boastful before them or even Madam Macias, the core bone of the family.

How dare the filth they always mocked and used like a trash speak back?

“But Sonia, shouldn't your husband's career be your top priority?” Lyncon asked with a teary eye as he held Sonia tightly to himself... Trapping his bleeding tears.

Lyncon looks at Sonia again, realizing his wife's appearance has been changing recently... Could she be worried or finally pregnant for him?

But he neglected those thoughts.

“If you all will rather support Huston instead of me, don't forget that I still have the people's support and my fuel will be the future of my Son and my daughter, not some freaking Mr. Huston chasing after my wife!” Lyncon fires back his outrage.

He couldn't believe his Sonia was Sonia!

“Pow!” Mr. Huston lands him a slap!

“You called me useless, and I ignored that, but you should know... I don't need to chase Sonia, she's already mine!” Huston confidently said and Lyncon fakes a smile in hurt cause with how his wife held Huston in front of him.. It could be true?

He guessed.

“You know, as hurtful as you hitting me feels... This is how I will come back to slap you back when I become Governor... You all should Watch me!” Lyncon said as he walked up to Sonia.

“And for you... Wait for me, I know you won't leave me, I love you.” Lyncon says as he storms off from there.

“I'd be glad to greet your ghosts!” Mr. Huston indirectly threatens his life as Lyncon in his suit stopped in his tracks.

“Don't be too sure, Mr. Huston, let me tell you a short Parable.” Lyncon fires back as he turns back like a devil at Huston and the entire family.

"You're like a horse who can't be forced to drink from the river… But I am that Horse's rider who would lead that stubborn horse to drown in that same river, so Mr. Huston! Do wait for my Ghosts too.” Lyncon said with a smile as he walked out.

After leaving there, Lyncon visited his kids praying with them before he finally headed to the neighboring state for his last Governorship campaign.

“I am so happy to talk here publicly to my supporters, tomorrow is the final voting day, remember... I am the one meant for that office and only I will deliver!” Lyncon said and the entire crowd of supporters hailed him before his smile instantly died.

"Daddy!" He hears his kids call on him as a note is dropped over his pulpit stand and he picks it up to read the contents.

"Publicly tell the world you are no longer interested in becoming governor, we have your kids." Lyncon reads as he sees an arrow in the note pointing towards the crowd of his active supporters.

"Please, No! No! I'm no longer..." He was about to denounce his political office, but then shock interrupted him next.

"GwAr!" He trembles while watching in slow motion as his daughter and son were shot and thrown dead to the ground as his eyes corrodes with darkness due to the extreme Tremor!
