Chapter 16

“May the souls of the departed keep resting in the bosom of the Lord,” the officiating priest for the funeral said and continued. “And may peace be with you all present.”

“Amen.” Blade and Jasmine responded, the priest did the sign of the cross and left for his car immediately, as he had concluded the sermon for the funeral and noticed the atmosphere was already cloudy.

Jack had wanted the burial of his sister and grandpa very private to avoid unnecessary attention and traces to himself. So he only invited Blade and Jasmine, who were the closest people around him so far as he was concerned.

Jack was so quiet and couldn't say a single word during the ceremony. He couldn't help but let emotions take over the better side of him. He knelt over the carpet grass facing the tombs of both his beloved sister and that of his grandpa as he unconsciously dropped the rose flowers he held in his hands.
