Chapter 28

Blade sat beside Jack on the long couch in the lounge, where they usually come to rest. A deep frown etched lines on Blade’s face.

“I must say, sir,” he began, his voice a low rumble, "this news about the cloud technology investment you signed up for… It's having a big effect on me. How did you just invest in him without proper investigation? I mean, who does that, boss?”

Jack let out a concerned sigh, swirling the amber liquid in his glass. “I know, Blade. It's written all over your face, but I think he can be trusted with his services.” Jack said sharply, and Blade’s eyes turned to him, but he continued.

“It does sound a bit sudden, doesn't it?”

“Sudden? Sir, you met this fellow, Mr. Remy, like you referred to him only today at the business meeting. Discussing a multi-million dollar investment in some cloud technology… It doesn't sit well with me.”
