Chapter 55

A sharp rap on the door startled Mr. Andrew, who was almost lost in thought. That was the second day after the company’s media put up the intention of seeking investors with the public, and yet there was no response. “Come in,” he answered slowly, his voice full of worry.

The door creaked open, ushering in two well-dressed men. They exude an air of polished confidence that stands in stark contrast to Mr. Andrew's disheveled state.

“Mr. Andrew?” inquired the taller of the two, extending a manicured hand. “I'm Thomas Evans, and this is Michael Lee. We represent Agron Incorporation.”

Mr. Andrew shook his hand weakly. “Mr. Evans, Mr. Lee. Please, have a seat.” He gestured towards the exotic leather chairs across from his desk.

“Thank you,” said Mr. Evans, taking a seat. Mr. Lee followed suit, his gaze flitting around the furnished office.

“We saw your company's statement,” Mr. Evans began, his voice smooth as butter. “We understand that your company is seeking investment opportunities.”
