Chapter 99

On a Friday morning, a promising young man walked into Jasmine’s office. The man should be in his late 30s. He had booked an appointment two days before that day, and he was given an appointment date that fell on Friday. In essence, Jasmine was aware of his visit.

But even before Jasmine could raise an eyebrow to behold him, the perfectly dressed Mr. Joe glided into his office.

“Ms. Jasmine,” Mr. Joe began, his voice smooth as polished marble, “a pleasure to meet you at last.”

Jasmine offered a curt nod, gesturing towards the empty chair. “Mr. Joe. The pleasure is mine, I'm sure. I must admit, I can't wait for the company to strike this deal with you. I went through your profile, and I won't deny the fact that I was amazed.”
