CHAPTER 21

While drinking up in their rooms, Thomas can't help but notice how uncomfortable this girl is. She is supposed to be entertaining someone, and yet, she is just sitting there and was drinking booze. This just makes Thomas suspect more of her true identity. Since their personal information are classified, Thomas can't get anything from her as it would be too rude to force her to admit. As they drank, the others came back after a few minutes in private places of the pub. Thomas did not expect it, but it turns out, Henry got seduced too. Thomas laughed as Angelique scolded her brother as he is always like this, a womanizer. While Penny curses at Henry as she is telling that this is his goal all along, to find women out the seas. But Henry defended himself by saying that it was just all because of the alcohol and all, but then,

"Alcohol? Oh, please. You only drank a single mug; don't tell me you're drunk after that? When you are one of the crew who always empties our rum supplies." William then smirked as the scolding continues.

Smithy followed, and he is already feeling belonged in the crew after joining a week ago. As they drink, a group of men then approached the. William stood up, and it was just in time when Jeff came out their room to inform Thomas and the others that they are having the time of their lives. Thomas turned around, and then, he stood face t o face with this big, handsome, and muscular man smoking a pipe.

"You must be our special guest, I believe." Says the man.

"Yes, we are pirates, is that okay with you or should we leave?" Thomas replied.

"Oh no, no. Pirates are our best customers as pirates have much more money than regular thugs. It's rare to see people in the VIP rooms, but I hope that you are enjoying the night." Answered the man.

"Capone Escobar, owner of this pub and I am the one who runs this Island." Introduced the man as he reached his hand out to Thomas.

"Thomas Jack, pleasure to meet you." Thomas shook his hand.

And Capone gladly welcomed Thomas into the sea of sins, Linp, where navy and marines may thrive, but the lawlessness can't still be prevented. As they were talking, Capone then looked behind Thomas to see the Black girl just sitting there. Capone called the girl who just snapped back to life. The Black girl approached Capone while looking at the ground,

"I am going to take this girl for a while since I need something from. But do enjoy the night even more and I will compensate by giving you another fine woman." Says Capone.

"Oh, that's not necessary. Thank you for the welcome by the way." Thomas thanked.

And for the last time they shook hands, the tension around the place got heavier and their look, they both look into the other's eyes to see the eyes of people who have seen death before. This is also when Capone acknowledges that this man is no rookie anymore. Capone then left with the girl along with his men as they went upstairs where his office was. The others then exhaled heavily as that was a big lift of tension. As they all felt like being crushed by a boulder just by those two shaking hands. William knew that there was something off too.

"Well, let us continue drinking!" Thomas announced to his crew, and they cheered in delight as they went on to get wasted.

Meanwhile, at the office of Capone upstairs, something is happening that the rest doesn't know,

"You little wench!" Capone cursed as he slapped the hell out of the Black girl as she then sat on the floor while rubbing her left cheek after being slapped hard like that.

And then, Capone kicked her in face so hard, that her right eye became swollen immediately, her mouth was also bleeding as she is being repeatedly beat up by the boss.

"I told you to serve our customers with all your effort! So, why am I seeing you all gloomy there, Anji?!" bellowed Capone.

"I-I'm sorry, sir. It won't happen again." Anji apologized.

Capone then crouched next to her, and that is when he squeezed her face with his strong hand,

"Yes, this is the last time. Remember, Anji, that I have your family by their necks. No one will help you, so stop thinking about freedom! Because you are mine! One more mistake, and you will end up like your mentor!" Capone then pushed her away.

She stood up and was ordered to exit the window to not let her be seen by the customers as she was also given her salary of 5,000 Pendz. Anji jumped off the window where she normally jumps when getting beaten, and then she went home. For 7 years, she has been the slave of Capone. After her mentor's murder, she willingly became the slave of Capone to prevent her family for getting harmed as they are too close and mutual with her mentor since her mentor is her aunt who is the greatest doctor of the Linp sea. And because of that, Anji or Bonney in real life, has to endure all the pain, sufferings that Capone brings them in order to have her family safe and away from their hands. She chose to become impure for their sake, she chose to be a slave rather than escaping and pursue on becoming a doctor of the seas. Bonney then reached their home, which was this rundown 2-storey house where the Capone Gang destroyed in order to show their power and what they can do when Bonney disobeys his command. She opens the door, and she was welcomed by her 2 twin siblings and hugged her. The twins then looked up to see that their sister's face is all bruised again.

"Mama! Sissy has a booboo!" yelled one of the twins.

And their mother, this 65-year-old woman rushed down to their door to see that her daughter is all beat up again. It has been years of seeing her daughter have bruises, but it still hurts her heart that her daughter is taking and lifting all the burdens up her shoulder just for them when she can literally have run before and left them. But Bonney is too kind, she thinks about her family before herself. The mother then sat her daughter in their lightless living room and then light up a lamp to see and tend to the wounds of her child. As she was damping a clean cloth drenched in water in the wounds of her daughter, the mother then began tearing up,

"I pity you, Bonney. Just for us, you abandoned your dreams and all. And because of us, you were forced into being a slave of that bastard of a man." The mother sobbed.

Bonney sighed,

"Mom, this is what aunt—"

"No, this is not what your aunt wants. She wants you to be a great doctor, greater than her. But because of that incident you—"

"I don't want to talk about it, mom." Bonney cuts as she then took the cloth off her mother's hands and did the treating herself.

That incident still traumatizes her, she is the one at fault, and she will never forget it. As she was treating her bruises, she then looked at her mom with a smile on her face,

"You know what, mom? I just met the little brother of Jacky!" Bonney smiled.

As she then remembered all the kindness Jacky have given them. She gave them food, money and all as she stayed here in this island for a month and lived in their house. Bonney owes a lot from Jacky, and she just wishes to meet her again someday to thank her. But one day, when Jacky was about to leave, she wrote something to Bonney that she is still giving consideration,

"Bonney don't remain a slave. If I only have enough manpower, I could've marched into the front doorstep of Capone, but unfortunately, I am not strong enough. In any case, mark my words, Bonney, you will be set free someday. The past that is dragging you down will be the one to drive you to liberate yourself. Because no one deserves to be a slave. Now, I may not be able to free you, but again, I promise you, someone will break the shackles of terror and make you feel the joy of being free again. I don't know who that is, but I hope that it would be my brother, since I do know that he will be set sailing a few years from now. Then, until we meet again. And you make sure to be out in the open sea someday.

Bonney now wonders if being free from Capone is really possible. Because just like Jacky said, her little brother is now here. And it only depends on Thomas if he is to free her or not. But to Thomas, he has already decided to make her his ship doctor no matter what. Even if it means clashing with one of the biggest criminal names in the whole of Linp sea.
