CHAPTER 4: HERE COMES THE NAVY

They placed their ship where it can't be seen by others. Since this island is filled with pirates, no one can really be trusted as their ship might get stolen if they leave it in plain sight. The two placed their stolen ship in a hidden location, and it is inside of this cave near the water. After putting it there, the two then prepared themselves. Thomas took 2 pistols and a machete with him and strapped it all on his waist. Meanwhile, since William is a wind boon expert, he only fights with his fists, and he really does not know how to handle weapons that much.

"Before we get off, let us prepare our boons before going to town." Says William as he is now testing his powers and hitting the water with it.

"Uhm, that's the problem. I am boonless,"

"Boneless?"

"No! I don't have a boon, just fighting skills."

And that was a massive curveball. Thomas keeps on telling surprises, one after another. To think that the son of someone who has fire powers doesn't have any boon, and yet, he has decided to go and set sail and become a pirate. This is just ridiculous. However, after seeing this guy fight some experienced fighters earlier, it should be safe to say that this kid has got something more up his sleeves and is just holding back since his opponent is not really that much of a challenge. And he seems to have no interest in going all-out against someone so puny. In any case, the two stepped down their ship and went to town to buy some stuff. But Thomas has something else in mind. He will do some pirate stuff, but only on pirates and will only do harm to other pirates. They walked down the town, and it was literally filled with pirates all over the place. The two are just walking and is not having themselves to cause any ruckus. But then, Thomas intentionally bumped into a big pirate. This big pirate got angry immediately, but Thomas said his sorry and went on his way.

"Tch! Wimp." The big pirate says.

And as he clutched his pockets, it was gone. 20,000 pendz have disappeared from his pocket. And there is only one person who could have done that. The big pirate started to create some trouble, as Thomas showed the stash of money,

"Where did you get that?" William asked.

"Stole it. We're pirates anyway. But relax, I only stole it from another pirate over there." Thomas then pointed at the place where a fight is breaking out.

William sighed as they just went on to search for something in this town, and as they reached the center, they noticed this big commotion. They paved their way through hundreds of pirates, as they then finally reached the front. It was a circular ring, and inside it was this town's mayor,

"For this year's Pirate Duels, we have insane prizes!" The old man who was the mayor of this town announces.

"The prizes are a galleon ship, a map that leads to a treasure and it has obviously been verified, a compass and a bounty increase!" announced the mayor and the pirates just got wild.

At first, Thomas was confused on why a bounty raise included in the prizes, but then William told him that whoever wins this battle and takes all the prizes, it would be reported to the navy and the navy would make the person who wins wanted since it can be considered as plundering.

"I'll join in." Thomas says,

"What?! Are you crazy? We still have a ship, let's settle with that." William argued.

Thomas sighed,

"How can we get an audience with my father if we can't even get our own ship. And besides, if we continue to travel with the Plundy ship, then we could be considered as the Plundy Pirates as well." Thomas replied.

"Just don't get killed, I will be watching." William says as he then went away so that Thomas can sign up.

As he lines up, the pirates behind him are just laughing at him since he is definitely a rookie, well it's true. And when it is now Thomas' turn to sign his name, the mayor asked him,

"You look young. An unknown rookie, eh?" the mayor says as Thomas nodded.

He then wrote his name down, and when the mayor reads his name, he looked at Thomas and then grinned.

"Just wait for your name to be called, Mr. Jack." He smiled and Thomas just stepped aside to let the others sign up.

It took an hour before the registration ends, and the pirates who would compete are now complete. There are 20 participants, and some of them already have bounties on their heads, but most of them just have only alive and not dead or alive. There will be a total of 4 matches for every pirate, and the second match would be a different one as 3 would fight each other all at once. Pirates are assigned into brackets, and Thomas is at the A bracket where almost all the pirates in that bracket are all wanted men and women.

"And for the first fight, please step into the ring. Jet "The Shark" Ozy!" the mayor announced as this man, who has razor sharp teeth revealing from his mouth stepped into the ring.

This bald man has a bounty of 5 million on his head, but he is still ordered to be captured alive,

"Next, the rookie, Thomas Jack!"

Thomas stepped into the ring with a lot of booing in his surroundings. Some are saying to him to just get down as someone as weak as him who have the name of Jack should be ashamed.

"Okay, as always, this is a pirates' duel, so basically, there are no rules. Now, fight!" the mayor then stepped away from the two.

Jet was the first to attack and was screaming that he would send Thomas to hell for using the name of Jack even though he is weak. Thomas on the other hand just dodged every attack Jet made. His left leg still hurts a bit, so he is not going all-out. Jet got pissed,

"What?! Is running all you have?!" he bellowed.

But as he swung his left arm at Thomas, the rookie slid on his knees, and with Jet losing his balance, Thomas grabbed one of his pistols and shot at man's legs that crippled him. The shark knelt to the ground, and that is when Thomas is to deliver the final blow. He punched Jet's face so hard that his razor-sharp teeth got shattered and he swallowed every particle of it. That punch also knocked him out cold. The crowd went silent as Thomas was declared the winner. He stepped down the ring and then sat on a fence nearby to rest, even though he is not that tired, and he will now watch the remaining duels. Meanwhile, William has now reached the place where the galleon prize is tied. It was bigger than the Plundy Ship and it is much more pirate looking. It turns out that once the person fighting winds the ship, then it would also come with a few freebies that can be chosen by the winner. And one of them are the figureheads and the one big cannon. William is now waiting for them to win, as this would be an absolute jackpot. He then went back to the center where the fighting is, and he then saw Thomas sitting at ringside on a fence,

"How's your match?" William asked as he leaned on the fence on Thomas' left.

"I won against someone who has a 5 million bounty. It was quite easy; the person was naïve and all and has too much confidence in himself and underestimated his opponent." Thomas explained.

William chuckled as he then looked at the left knuckles of Thomas, it was bleeding. Thomas then admitted that the teeth were sharper even on the surface, and he did not expect that. But William just smiled as this kid literally won against some with a 5 million bounty on his head, and that is a big feat alone. After a few more bloody matches, it is finally for the second elimination round. Thomas was called in the ring to face another formidable foe, and that is the Eri, as woman who has a bounty of 9 million on her head. Their fight began, and it started quite dirtily as well. Eri first fired shots at Thomas, but Thomas managed to dodge all of them. But then, he suddenly tripped himself, and the female pirate grabbed that opportunity and fired at Thomas who then turned around and then, to their surprise, he caught all the bullets with his bare hands and without even a single scratch on his palms. And that shocked the opponent significantly. Thomas rushed towards her, and without any hesitation, Thomas kicked her stomach so hard and knocked the air out of her as she was then launched out of the circle that confirms her defeat. Pirates then began rooting for Thomas as this is his second win without even sweating. William smirked, as it was the right idea to stick with this guy. Thomas may not look like it, but he is strong as fuck, and two more wins, and they will have a new ship. While they battle themselves there, something is closing in the island.

"Captain! We see it, the Plundy Ship is in a cave!" yelled one man wearing a white sailor uniform.

"Yeah, I see it. Prepare for battle! We will catch these damn pirates!" ordered a man with an overgrown black bear as he wears this sailor captain uniform.

The navy just joined the party.
