When he wakes up

Life's never been easy. You only had found the right solution to each problems it throws.

'It has been a while.'

You only live once. That's what people believe in.

'My friend. You don't look so great.'

People believe in religions and beliefs. They believe being good will brings you to nirvana.

'Shall I help you once more?'

But being good doesn't mean being solely one will truly give you free passes to heaven.

'You who brought salvation to your world but gained despair.'

But how do you define good? How would you find it?

'I shall give you one chance.'

That's when the world was brought to destruction and chaos. People's true colors will emerged.

'But you should know that everything has an equivalent price.'

Nothing's in the world is free. It comes to a complete balance and fair cycle. But sometimes... it can be deceived.

'What will you choose this time?'

Then right now, that's what I am going to do.

"I want to leave this place."

That's right. I want to leave this place that I work hard on saving.

'Hooo... You'll leave the world you did all you can to save.'

"That's right. A world with just an empty shell was nothing but a worthless piece of junk for me. So take me away from this place. That's all I want."

A voice that rang inside your head that can make you shiver in fear. An incorporeal existence that appears to people with immense deep despair. That's the higher being appeared right before here.

'Interesting. I shall do what you wish. You who brought salvation to the world and the you who will turn your back from it. But what will you offer me?'

A deceiving devil coat in the curtains of hope. That's what can describe this being. But who I am to ignore such appealing offer?

"I'll give you everything. I'll give you my life."

Laughters filled the entire red dark sky. This was the lair of the monster who brought chaos and disaster to the world. The monster who almost took my life.

'Hahaha! Good! This is great! I shall do my fair share of the deal. Humans are really interesting weak existences. Yet they are the ones with full of surprises.'

Before I could close my eyes, the skies lighten up. Revealing the blue cloudless sky. A sharp pain struck into my heart and my lungs feels like it was squeezed by brute strength. Then in a brief, I felt my head was about to burst when I heard the voice again.

'Unfortunate human. The deal is complete. Do your best to live your life the way you want this time. I'll cheer for you! Hahaha!'

Baaaaaang!

All my senses went numb and darkness swallowed me up.

..

Droplets of water touches the cheeks of the boy peacefully laid in a soft luxurious but plain bed. His eyes started to twitch, a sign that he's awake.

"Young master."

A voice that is not young and not old reaches the boy's ear as he slowly opened his eyes. A large room with minimal furnitures varying with black and red color placed neatly inside.

On the side, he could see a basin with water and right there, a man in his fifties holding a wet towel was looking at him with a benign smile, waiting for him to response.

He raises his hand to see a very smooth skin with no deep callouses and was extremely skinny.

He raises his body to sit as he roam his eyes inside the room. On his side were a red dark oak with exquisite designs and when he turned his head to other way there is a partition and antique furnitures that is quite peculiar to his eyes. They were not minimal but the spacious room make it look scarce.

The blanket he was tucked in were not that soft like the ones in his past world but it isn't uncomfortable enough to make him not want to sleep...maybe little. The air is fresh but there is this heavy feeling mixed with it that felt familiar with him but he couldn't identify it at the moment.

All of his observation happened in a short amount of time and the old man was quietly watching him as he put the wet towel down at the basin.

"Young master Cygne, are you alright?"

He flinched from the gentle voice that's full of concern from the old man he doesn't even know. He didn't let the eyes who are watching him passed. 'There's no concern in it. Like a predator watching his prey.' He inwardly thought that this place is dangerous. Then, Cygne started to recall the last thing he remembered.

「'Unfortunate human. The deal is complete. Do your best to live your life the way you want this time. I'll cheer for you! Hahaha!'」

The voice full of anticipation roared inside his head before the world turns black. Cygne doesn't know what happened but it seems like he transmigrated. The higher being completed its part of the deal. But that is not his concerns right now. He doesn't have a memory to rely on his current situation right now, he frowned from the headache brewing inside his head. The slight wince he had made didn't escaped the observant eyes of the old man.

"...I'll call for the doctor. I'll be quick."

The old man walk with light steps that is quite amazing. It's fleeting like a swan but also something hair raising when you thought about it in the middle of the night with an attempt of harvesting your life. That didn't escaped from Cygne's eyes. A soft thud from the closing of the door made him drown in his thought.

'It seems like I was given an another headache to deal with.'

He did not think his wish was that lacking. He felt like he was tricked bigtime. He doesn't have a memory to this body he acquired. But thankfully the language of this world help him not to turn into an idiot from the first day he arrived here.

But he wonders, how long can he take his stand in this place with no memories to rely or information about himself?

His train of thoughts was interrupted by the soft knocks on the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Come in."

A young voice of a 13 year old teen came out of Cygne's mouth. He was startled on how soft it sounds with a tint of hoarseness from being not able to drink water for a long time but he quickly gained his composure when he heard the knob twisted and being push.

"Young master Cygne, I am Kirsten Vandello of the South. I will examine your body now."

'He's young.'

Cygne slightly nods as Kirsten cautiously approached him. The old man follows on the side with a distance that is not near and not too far.

Kirsten the doctor has a long brown hair tied in a ponytail that rested on his left shoulder. His golden sharp eyes was being blocked by a prescription glasses that is making it dull but you could tell that did not hinder the doctor's sight. The doctor did multiple examination on Cygne to make sure that nothing is wrong with his body.

"Luckily, your healing capabilities did all the work to restore your ruined organs from the impact of the Minorus attack. Since magic don't work on you, ahem it is still amazing that a week's coma could heal a month's worth of continuous healing with magic. You are safe now young master."

The room temperature suddenly dropped and chilliness wafted the room that made Cygne flinched with goosebumps creeps on his arms.

'It seems like he wasn't ordinary.'

"It seems like there's no more for you to do here Doctor Vandello. Let me escort you out."

"Yes..yes Butler Tien. If you'll excuse me young master, I'll be taking my leave."

Doctor Kirsten bowed his head to Cygne and followed Tien out of his room. The cold temperature disappeared as he watches the door closes again.

It seems like he went into a troublesome place.

"Chuu."

His eyes quickly went to the corner of his room. Cygne saw a black glob with red shining eyes looking at him. It was small about the size of a basketball ball. It didn't move to its spot nor Cygne as well.

The staring contest continued that made Cygne missed Tien's presence who entered without a sound.

He was observing his young master.

"Tien."

Cygne called out his name without looking at his direction. This 13 year old boy was acting weird. Usually the coward pup will shake tremendously from the display of murderous intent he directed, but not only the young master had no reaction... he was actually calm and his aura didn't fluctuates. Tien who was absorbed in his thought felt the eyes focused on him.

His eyes landed on Tien. He could see a firm cold gaze from Cygne.

"I lost my memory."

Then Cygne give him a hard blow.
