Chapter 11

All eyes immediately turned to the graceful figure of the Limousine pulling up in front of them. A vehicle representing the power and wealth of Wayne Corporations had just arrived, capturing the attention of everyone present. The company emblem proudly displayed on the car door left a dazzling impression. "Just arrived, the new leader of Wayne Corporations," someone whispered among the guests, their voice low but filled with unbearable curiosity. No one could resist wanting to know more about the mysterious figure behind Wayne Corporations' new splendor. It was as if the entire West Island held high hopes of witnessing him firsthand, unveiling the secrets behind the city's economic powerhouse.

The Limousine slowly opened, revealing the confident figure of Arnold stepping out from the driver's seat, followed by Ana emerging from the other side. They walked towards the passenger door with light steps, opening it as the whispers of the curious guests drew closer, eager to catch a glimpse of the mysterious figure behind Wayne Corporations' remarkable success.

With graceful steps, a pair of legs adorned in shiny black shoes slid slowly out of the Limousine.

All eyes were fixed on the majestic presence, including Renal, who couldn't hide his astonishment at the figure standing before him.

"Gerald," he whispered, his voice almost drowned out by his bewilderment.

Yes, without a doubt, the man stepping out of the Limousine was Gerald, the once thought useless cousin. Present at Grandma's invitation as the new leader of Wayne Corporations.

Renal shook his head quickly, trying to snap out of his reverie. But the reality in front of him was too clear. This couldn't be possible, he thought. How could Gerald, the ignored cousin, now become the prominent leader at Wayne Corporations? There must be a mistake, there must be deception behind all of this.

With steady steps and his arrogant demeanor, Renal approached Gerald. Without hesitation, he rudely pushed the man, creating a stir among the shocked guests witnessing the unexpected behavior from Grandma Kyle's beloved grandson.

"You fraud!" Renal hissed sharply. "What are you doing here with this bunch of scammers? You must have hired someone to impersonate as the new owner of Wayne Corporations, didn't you?" he asked, his voice full of hatred and disbelief.

Despite being roughly pushed, almost stumbling, Gerald remained calm. With his always composed demeanor, he straightened his slightly disheveled attire, then smiled softly at Renal.

"Don't you recognize, Miss Anastasia, Renal's cousin?" Gerald asked, his voice calm but firm.

Renal turned to the beautiful woman standing beside him, gracefully holding a tablet. Of course, Renal knew Anastasia, not only for her stunning appearance but also for her tough reputation in the business world of West Island.

"No. You must be a fraud," Renal retorted, accusing Anastasia. "You must be involved in this dirty scheme with Gerald, right? What were you thinking, getting involved in such illicit affairs?"

Anastasia stared sharply at Renal, expressing her disagreement with the baseless accusations.

"Please choose your words wisely, Sir. Gerald Wayne is the rightful owner of Wayne Corporations," she said firmly.

Although still skeptical and reluctant to accept the reality before his eyes, Renal continued with increasingly rough and inappropriate behavior. "You're all frauds!" he shouted loudly. "I will never believe it, even if his name matches the big company. He couldn't possibly be the new leader of Wayne Corporations."

"Believe it or not, that's not my concern, Renal. But your way of speaking is truly embarrassing. As a student from the best university, you should be ashamed of making baseless accusations against me and Miss Ana. I could sue you for defamation. Aren't you afraid of that?" Gerald asked firmly.

A turbulent atmosphere enveloped Grandma Kyle's front yard that evening among the guests. Renal was silenced by Gerald's serious words. Seeing all the grandeur possessed by Gerald, from the Limousine to the two trusted individuals of Wayne Corporations accompanying him, Renal began to realize that perhaps what Gerald said was true. Suddenly, Harley stepped forward, facing the unbelievably reality. Her husband, all this time, was the new leader of Wayne Corporations. It was truly incomprehensible, leaving her speechless, just staring at Gerald as if seeing him five years ago.

"Harley," Gerald called.

However, Harley remained silent in her place. She couldn't believe what was happening before her eyes. What's more painful, Gerald had hidden everything from her. Harley felt neglected by her husband. Yet, all this time, she had always shared everything with Gerald.

"Why did you hide this from me?" Harley asked.

"I didn't mean to hide it from you, Harley," Gerald replied.

Harley shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"You didn't mean to? So all this time you're the one who instructed them both to pass my project, right? Accepting the cooperation I made and sidelining Renal?" Harley asked.

Gerald fell silent. He couldn't answer his wife's question, which would surely hurt her.

Suddenly, amidst the commotion, a Rolls-Royce arrived and stopped behind Gerald's car. Grandpa Wayne got out with his two sturdy bodyguards. Grandma Kyle, who had been standing behind, saw the situation and immediately realized it. She ran towards Grandpa Wayne to greet him.

"Mr. Wayne, you finally came," Grandma Kyle greeted, wanting to shake hands with Grandpa Wayne.

However, Grandpa Wayne knew that Grandma Kyle was a woman who only coveted wealth. He rejected Grandma Kyle's outstretched hand and directed his steps towards Gerald.

"Why did you only greet me? Didn't he arrive first?" Grandpa Wayne asked Grandma Kyle. Grandma Kyle smiled at Grandpa Wayne. However, just like Renal, Grandma Kyle didn't believe that her poor grandson-in-law was the new leader of Wayne Corporations.

"He's just my grandson-in-law, shouldn't be here, Mr. Wayne. Usually, he's just in the back, washing dirty dishes," Grandma Kyle said.

Grandpa Wayne sighed, looked at Gerald with annoyance, then said, "You dare to treat him like that, huh?"

"He's worthless. Absolutely worthless," Grandma Kyle replied.

"To you, maybe he's worthless, but to me, he's a very precious grandson," Grandpa Wayne said firmly.
