The man got up after one of his comrades healed him with magic.
I held the scabbard in my left hand while in my right was the sword; without lowering my gaze, I continued to look around me.
"What does this mean? You're trying to attack me."
The man I cut off his hand replied with a bitter smile. "We saw you come out of that vampire house; if not his friend, then who are you?"
"I was there to complete a quest."
"There's no way, and we wanted to eliminate that woman from the start... anyone who has any relationship with her must die."
"It's not like that, and the receptionist also said I can go there to run a quest."
I glanced at the woman in question, and she turned away. "What the hell? You set me up, but what's the reason?"
Olivia answered me. "I don't want to say it, but that woman is a demon; it seems she's a demon sent to spy on this city."
"Oh, I see."
"I warn you, with your current strength, you won't be able to defeat them; better run away quickly."
"What about that vampire woman?"
"Humans hate the demon race and vice versa; just let her die."
I recalled my meeting with Caroline, who insisted she was human. In other words, it wasn't her wish that she turn into a vampire. Damn, trouble has come even though I just arrived in this world.
"I will save that woman."
"Up to you."
I ran to the side to break the window before rolling forward and running towards the Caroline residence. Several adventurers tried to block me, but I reached out my hand, creating plant magic that ensnared them helplessly.
This magic is called [Magic Tree], which allows the user to manipulate any plant; with quick movements, I arrived at the mansion and saw Caroline, who was surrounding several adventurers.
***
"I told you to get out of here quickly," shouted Caroline in fear.
"We will leave after killing you."
I touched the roses in this residence, and with my skill, I moved their tendrils, entangling the adventurer's entire body.
"You are okay?"
"Who are you?"
I tore the leaf mask off my face.
"Wasn't it you earlier?"
"It's a long story; I'll explain later."
"Wait a minute, there must be a reason you're covering your face... I'll take something inside."
"All right, let's go."
"Just a minute."
Caroline entered the house, and just as she came out, I immediately pulled her running with me until she hid behind a deserted alley. I hugged Caroline while covering her mouth, and she glared at me.
"I think it's safe."
While I breathed a sigh of relief, Caroline stomped my foot until I was in pain. "What are you doing?"
"Your fault," she retorted in annoyance.
Olivia cut in. "You guys must get out of this city, and I think going through the underground sewers will be our only way."
"It seems so."
I let Caroline down first while I followed later; the bad smell was my first impression when I entered this place.
"Your name is Zack Draven. Take this."
Caroline gives a white mask with a pattern of two black lines from top to bottom and from left to right, forming a plus sign. Although there are no eyes or nostrils, I can still see and breathe air.
"This mask is magic," I said before opening my mouth.
"Is this what you took from your mansion?"
"General."
"Thank you."
"You guys are lucky to be able to escape, and I believe the demon lord has been eyeing this city for a long time."
"Devil's King?" asked Caroline.
"You're a vampire, but you don't know anything about it."
"I just remember someone killing my whole family and suddenly forcing me to drink their blood."
"Oh, I see."
"What's wrong? Please explain to me." I demanded that of Olivia.
"Caroline seems to have been turned into a vampire on purpose, I don't know the reason, but that person must have bad intentions towards you."
"Could it be the receptionist?"
"The chances are very high; if he wants Caroline... that person will appear again." I nodded in agreement.
"If that's the case, then it makes sense that he purposely framed me from the start."
***
We came out of the sewers and found someone already standing in front of us; without saying anything, everyone knew he was the Receptionist I met in the guild.
I stood in front of Caroline to keep her safe.
"You're a demon, right?"
"Seems like you've noticed; I'm a vampire demon who has turned the woman in the back into the same creature."
I drew my sword to reveal the blade.
"What do you want from Caroline?"
"The reason I turned her into a vampire was to make her my strength, and if vampires eat another vampire's heart, they will become stronger... by eating it, I can become a demon lord."
"Unfortunately, I will not allow it."
I dashed forward to swing the sword from above at the Receptionist.
"Fool, an attack like that won't work on me."
He pushed me aside until I hit the outer city wall.
"Very strong."
"I told you he was too strong for you to deal with," Olivia said.
Though strong, I couldn't ignore Caroline; I got back up and shouted while attacking the Receptionist. Even though I thanked the receptionist at the guild, it turned out like this.
The receptionist dodged my left and right before sending his hand through my chest.
"So stubborn, die."
"I'm not going to die, and you're the one who's going to die now."
I held his hand so I couldn't use it anymore before I dropped my sword until Caroline picked it up.
"Caroline?" I shouted.
"Shit."
"Argh..." accompanied by that scream, Caroline swung my sword, cutting off the Receptionist's head until he fell to the ground.
I took out the hand that previously penetrated my body until I lay down.
"You're so reckless."
"At least you're safe."
Unexpectedly Caroline can use healing magic, so I feel a little better; after being able to stand, we decided to go into the forest to hide there immediately.
Right by the river, I took off my mask and washed my face; I had explained my situation to Caroline until she understood the problem.
"So, this sword is the incarnation of the Evil Goddess."
"Stop calling me that," Olivia interrupted firmly.
"I plan to go to six different places before settling down... how about you?"
Caroline silently thought about it and said, "I guess I'll come with you; after all, I have nowhere to go back to."
"I don't mind anyway."
"I'm the one who objected, and you're currently taking the Harem route... I told you I didn't like it."
"Calm down, Olivia; Caroline is not the kind of person she could like me... right, Caroline?"
"Ah... yes."
"She was silent for a few seconds before replying to you, suspicious."
This goddess is very evil to the heart. For now, we will rest here until things are under control. I made a base using leaves that can be used to lie down.
"Please use that."
"Thank you."
"No need to thank me, I'll light a bonfire to keep us warm."
"Um."
In front of the blazing fire, Olivia returned to her elf form.
"Are you sure you want to take it?"
"Why not? I also don't want us to leave someone I just saved."
"You are."
"More than that, Olivia... you haven't said why you summoned me to this world. You only said your true identity."
"There's no particular reason, and I want someone to protect me... if it's someone from this world, I'm not sure that person would do it. That's why I summoned you to this world."
"You just want to use me."
"There's nothing wrong with that; after all, you don't like the world you used to live in either, do you?"
"How much do you know about me?" I said with a troubled face.
The next peaceful morning, after I washed my face in the clear flowing water, I glanced at Caroline standing while shielding herself from the dazzling sunlight. Maybe it's summer now, and it's boiling. I took my sword, which I put on the grass before walking with Caroline out of the forest; on the way, we accidentally bumped into a merchant who wanted to give us a ride to a nearby town. "Thank you, Uncle." "No problem, take care of yourselves." I bowed low to the uncle until he continued his journey. The town we visited was only a small town, with every building still made of wood that we could find in the forest. However, the medieval atmosphere still feels thick here. As the two of us walked the city streets, countless people just sat with gloomy expressions as if they had taken their lives completely. One of the minor children stopped me by asking for money. Unfortunately, I would not be able to give him anything, especially since the people around him were also watching. If
Using the black robes, Caroline and I snuck into the city; demons mostly guarded every corner of the town, and some humans seemed to be on their side. In the quiet alley, I saw three people about to sleep with a woman; I quickly moved behind one of them and stabbed her skull through her eyes. The two remaining people looked surprised even though Caroline broke their necks after that followed her partner. Caroline helped to tidy up the woman's clothes. "Thank you." "Go, and keep it a secret if you meet us." "I understand." I only saw the woman's departure from behind the mask that covered my face. "Are you okay, Zack? Your hands are shaking?" asked Caroline. "This is my first time killing a human." "From now on, get used to this; if you let them live someday, someone else innocent will be the victim... let's go." *** Following the direction of Olivia, who was still in her sword form, we entered the palace; just as we met several demons on guard, I slashed at them until their p
On the way back to the palace, I took an eggplant from the merchant's stall and showed it to Caroline. "Look at Caroline, and this purple eggplant is huge." "Stop it... don't show it to me; I don't like eggplant, they are very long, and it looks very perverted." "You can touch it; let's touch it." "Don't come near me.... stop." I chased after Caroline from behind while the residents looked at me with eyes like a dead fish and said the same thing. "What kind of game is this?" "Well, Olivia, quickly turn yourself into a human; you might like these vegetables." "I don't want to." I think it's enough to repay their previous treatment, and now I'm satisfied. *** We entered the palace residence and then headed for the top tower, which was used as a prison. It locked the door, so I broke it quickly, and the first thing I saw was a girl with long blue hair sitting on the bed, her big round eyes filled with a sad look, although, to be honest, there was a beautiful charm behind them,
"Are you okay?" "I'm fine." Thank God I still managed to save Caroline. "The one just now is hazardous; dragons tend never to listen to other creatures. They will only attack anyone who dares to disturb their peace," said Olivia. "Is that true?" It looks like that too. I swung my sword to send a slash to the rigid body; my attack only resulted in a small scratch until it finally sent me flying into a rock. On the other hand, Caroline created a rose plant on the dragon's foot and then exploded it nicely. The dragon that received the damage roared in pain before finally replying to Caroline by flapping its wings to create a tornado that sent her flying into the air. When the dragon attention turned towards Caroline, I cut off the dragon's tail. "It hurts; you cut my fucking tail." "The dragon is talking," I shouted and continued. "This dragon's voice is cute again." "Insolent, feel this." "Ugh." Being hit by a dragon is painful. Caroline got up while groaning in pain before cl
As I darted through the meadow, I asked Olivia, "Back in that city, you made my status look weak, didn't you?" "It's true that I made it so that everyone wouldn't suspect you... even though you're level one, your level is much more than that." "No wonder I always felt that I could fight." Just then, a Dog Hunter started popping up beside me, and they were showing fangs in their mouths with saliva dripping from them. I slashed one before twisting my body to defeat the rest. I use plant magic to trap them; then strong roots pierce them from underground. A single Dog Hunter appeared behind me, and I quickly slashed the tip of my sword at its heart; this beast screamed in pain before I completely lost its life. My mask will continue to hide my expression, but I'm strangely happy smiling. There's something strange about this. "Olivia, why am I enjoying this?" "You still haven't realised it, and I am an evil goddess because of that; the blessing I gave you is contrary to other goddesse
That morning I checked how the real training had started, not just Nova and the rest of the troops. Elena, who is the princess of this kingdom, also fought. Even if she learns to fight, I have no intention of making her fight on the front lines. The king and queen have died, and she is the only successor of this kingdom; if anything happens to her, then the royal line will no longer exist. We should avoid it as much as possible. The screams of the soldiers began to be heard; every time they swung their swords, it made others feel their burning spirit. Even because of such strenuous training, men or women took off their top clothes so that sweat wouldn't stick to them; women were still wearing bras. Still, looking at it is pretty tempting. "What's so good about looking at half-naked breasts? You can see mine without anything if you want?" "I'm not interested in seeing yours." "Damn it, that's an insult... I have boings here. But this guy is tougher than I imagined," the voice came
After that, I leaned against the tree while treating my wound, not only clawing at me this devoid-of-morals goddess also bit me. I can see the marks on my skin. While I groaned in pain, she showed me her chest. "How does it feel? Now you won't dare to be rude to me again." "Don't expect me to respect you." "Ara... Ara… you keep attacking my chest; I'm a little sick because you hit it." "It can't be helped if it's too big for me to move." "Reason." I created water magic to splash her face until she screamed cutely, then rubbed her face on my shirt. "Stop the strange goddess; stay away from me." She looks away cutely; to me, she's only beautiful when silent. "It's time to finish off one more." "Use me gently." I put my mask back on and then took Olivia, who had turned into an entire sword; with a slight jump, I appeared in front of the demons. *** "You showed up too, so you're the one who was reported to have brought down the city we've taken over." "Exactly; I guess now i
In front of me, a man in a black coat stands proudly, different from what I imagined; the demon lord has a human body that distinguishes him only by having one horn on top of his head. "To think you're in this world again, Olivia; I know how you previously attacked the entire race with that power of yours." Always silent while fighting, Olivia opened her mouth, "What did you say? I don't remember?" "You pretend not to remember how you killed an entire race and stole their power. You've done it, whether it's a demon or a goddess." So, like that, this goddess is indeed very evil. "Well, you know Zack, I used to be out of control; power has blinded my heart and mind. I slaughtered many people, so I have the nickname Devil slayer, god slayer, dragon slayer, and other assassins too." "You're outrageous," I said curtly. The Northern Demon Lord said with a smile, his mouth ripping into his ears until two additional pairs of eyes appeared before long, "You still don't have your full pow
