Immediately Gerald touched the hilt of the sword, his eye orbs glowed brighter than they had ever seen and he just stood still on the spot with his hands on the hilt of the sword.

Gwendolyn became alarmed when she saw this and reached out to touch him but immediately her hands touched him, a wave of energy emitted from Gerald and shocked her hands.

She immediately removed her hands and shouted “ Mother!! Mother!! Something is wrong with Gerald his not moving and when I reached out to touch him a wave of energy like a thunderbolt shocked me “.

Calanthe immediately ran back to meet them, she facepalmed and rolled her eyes when she saw Geralds's state.

“ I told him he'll need his powers before he can unsheathe his father's sword, but I guess he doubted me and decided to see for himself. He will probably be having flashbacks and seeing visions of things that happened in the past, that's why his eye orbs are glowing, luckily I know just what to do “ Calanthe said.

“ And what's that? “ Gwendolyn asked worriedly. She didn't want anything to happen to Gerald because he was the only one who would help her get revenge on king Nebeus the lord of darkness.

For he killed her innocent best friend Cicely unjustly and ever since then she has harbored a grudge against King Nebeus and sought to avenge her friend's death and also others who died unjustly because of him too.

“ Get me water in a bowl “ Calanthe Instructed Gwen who ran into their cottage immediately and came out with a bowl of water a few minutes later.

Gwen handed over the bowl of water to Calanthe who took it and walked around Gerald three times before she dipped her hands into the water and splashed Gerald the water three times on his face.

After that Gerald's eyes stopped glowing and he gasped for breath as though he had been fighting to breathe before, while holding his head with both hands.

“ What are all those things I saw, “ Gerald asked as he finished gasping for breath and removed his hand from the hilt of his father's sword immediately.

“ Those were the things that happened in the past, part of your father's memories, that's what you saw. I told you not to touch it till you have learned and released your powers “ Calanthe said as she glared at him.

“ I'm sorry, “ Gerald apologized to Calanthe even though he was still recovering from the things he saw. Gwen heaved a sigh of relief and this time started walking to the back of the cottage.

“ Come on guys, we have a whole lot of journey and adventure ahead of us. Let's head out before it gets dark “ Gwen called out to them and they followed her.

Reaching behind the cottage Gerald saw three white beautiful horses already saddled, he just stood there watching while Calanthe and Gwen attacked their backpack and mat through a belt beside the horse and climbed their horses ready to ride off.

“ What are you waiting for? “ Calanthe and Gwen asked in unison as they saw that Gerald was standing there and hadn't climbed his horse yet.

“ I don't know how to ride a horse I've never ridden one before “ Gerald wanted to say but decided against it because he didn't want to embarrass himself.

He strapped his backpack beside the horse and climbed the horse with ease to his surprise, which he knew his former chubby self wouldn't be able to.

This my new form rocks!! he thought to himself and they rode off heading for the forest a distance away from the cottage.

“ Where are we headed? “ Gerald asked as they rode their horses.

“ To the west, the territory of the trolls. The water in their land is powerful enough to restore my powers, it even heals the sick and wounded “ Calanthe said.

“ Wait, like you mean actual trolls, I didn't ever think they existed, “ Gerald said as he rode his horse trying to catch up with Gwen and Calanthe.

“ Legend has it that the first two trolls which were newly wedded at that time were human, but they tried to steal that sword you are carrying at you back, in other to give it to the enemy but the energy of the sky struct them down immediately they touched it,when the king who is the owner of the sword and your ancestor came, he cursed them that since they behaved like animals by trying to steal the sword, so shall they be and they shall not be able to walk under the sunlight else they'll turn to rock “ Gwen explained.

“ Wow this world is sure full of tales, “ Gerald said as the trio now rode their horses slowly.

“ Now come on or we will never get anywhere if we move slowly like this and supreme dark witches will track us, “ Calanthe said, charging away, riding her horse and Gwen followed suit.

Gerald copied them and his horse started running fast as well. The trio journeyed into the enchanted forest because the land where the trolls inhabited was after the enchanted forest.

It was said that the troll chose to inhabit there so no human would be able to get to them easily, for it was very difficult for humans to go into the enchanted forest and come out alive.

When they got to the forest entrance, a thick fog surrounded the entrance of the forest that made it impossible for anyone to be able to see inside the forest. They stopped with their horses in front of the fog, Gerald had a bad feeling about the place, for the aura surrounding the place made him have an eerie and spooky feeling.

“ Why do I have a feeling that this place we are about to enter isn't good, “ Gerald asked as he turned to Gwen and Calanthe. They didn't answer him, instead, Gwen just stepped forward and stressed her hands where the fog was while whispering magical words that Gerald couldn't decipher.

Immediately Gwen was done whispering the words, her eye orb glowed for a few seconds and immediately a path leading into the forest opened through the fog, although the fog didn't disappear it just parted so they could pass across.

Gwen led the way by going in on her horse, and Calanthe followed suit also with her horse Gerald was the last to go in because he was still contemplating if he should go in or not. When he decided to go in, he rode down the path slowly, he began hearing voices calling out to him.

“ Gerald, it's me, your real father, save me I'm not dead stretch out your hands into the fog and draw me out please, “ the manly voice said to him.

“ Gerald, don't save only your father, it's me, your mother, save us both please, “ Another female voice said and two pale hands stretched forth from the fog that was like walls on both sides of the pathway that was created.

Neither Calanthe nor Gwen heard Gerald's voice since they entered the pathway which they found usual because they knew Gerald loved to ask questions since there was still a lot he didn't know about their world yet, so they stopped their horse and turned back to check on Gerald.

But saw him stretching his hands towards the fog and they immediately knew what was going on because Gwen cursed under her breath “ May the Gods help us, how on earth did we forget to tell him this “.

“ Gerald Stop!!! “ Calanthe shouted and Gerald turned to look at her.

“ Why? my parents are calling out to me and you are saying I shouldn't help? This is my only chance to save them!! “ Gerald yelled and still wanted to stretch his hands further to grab the two hands.

“ Gerald, that's a ploy to drag you to your early death, those are not your parents, they are demons from the underworld. They use their victim's weaknesses to lure them in. Please Gerald don't do it, the destiny of Gorkazur is in your hands, the people need you!! “ Gwen shouted and gave Gerald a pleading look.

Gerald contemplated and then retracted his hands and rode his horse to catch up with them. Calanthe and Gwen heaved a deep sigh of relief.

“Hahahahaha!! You are lucky this time around Gerald “ A deep and scary voice from the fog said. Gerald clenched his jaw in anger and a sudden sense of determination surfaced in him, he vowed to save this world that was filled with wicked spirits and things, even if it was the last thing he'd do.

They all rode out of the pathway and the pathway that was created between the fog closed immediately they rode out. Gerald was upset about the underworld demons using his parents as spirit bait to lure him in, how dare they!!.

He turned to Calanthe and Gwen saying with his chins up and a deadly look on his face “ You both have treated me like a baby since I got here, it's time for me to behave like the man that I am. I'm supposed to protect you both as the man here, so let's go get that other half of the sacred stone and end this once and for all “.

Gwen and Calanthe were glad that Gerald had finally decided to be act like a man but Gerald got them off guard when he said that they should get the other half of the stone because for all they knew even half of the sacred stone has not been found.

“ The other half? What do you mean? “ Calanthe asked as she sat on her horse looking at Gerald and curiously waiting for an answer, so was Gwen.

“ I said that because I think I have the other half of the stone, “ Gerald said as he watched the two women who looked astounded after what they heard Gerald say.

“ How? “ Calanthe and Gwen asked Gerald in unison, anticipating his answer.

Calanthe and Gwen asked Gerald why he thought he had half of the Sacred because they had no idea how the stone was split into two.“ Since I remember being a child, I have had this necklace that has a pendant. I found it odd that a boy would have a necklace on his neck as though he is a girl,so I opened the pendant one day and saw a green shiny stone that was transparent, from merely looking at it I could tell it was a broken half of a stone, “ Gerald paused and then continued.“ I tried to get it off my necklace but it wouldn't come out. I used everything I knew I could to cut it with but I couldn't. The surprising part is that no one else could see it besides me. My parents began to think I was having mental issues and so did kids from my school. I was forced to visit a psychiatrist, no matter how I tried to show them they couldn't see it. I decided to let the issue slide because there must be a reason for no one else to be able to see it aside from me. And now I know the reason ““

She was scared of talking because she felt that someone might hear and report to King Nebeus since Grafburg was after all the place he resided in.Gerald noticed her nervousness and instantly sensed that she was afraid of something. This piqued his interest more because when they saved her, she had this mysterious aura around that he couldn't quite place his fingers on.“ It's fine Hesperia. You're safe with us and we won't let any harm come to you okay? “ Gerald assured Hesperia with a tight-lipped smile.“ Okay, “ Hesperia answered him and closed her eyes as she exhaled several times to calm her paranoia down.
