Stark and Shambala went into the crypt for the bolt of Zeus. They were expecting challenges that were more challenging than the previous crypts, but to their surprise, they were faced with very easy challenges. The first challenge was for them to solve a riddle.

The riddle master, who appeared to be a bird standing before the gate, said, “What moves on four legs in the morning, moves with two legs in the afternoon, and moves with three legs in the evening?”

“You have one attempt, as this riddle is very simple,” the riddle master added.

“Let us think this through, as we do not want to fail in doing so; we need to get that artifact,” Stark said, displaying so much eagerness.

“Relax; I'm trying to think here,” Shambala replied.

“You do not have all the time, just so you know,” the riddle master said, bringing a time glass that ran rather too fast than ordinary.

“The answer is man,” Shambala said, watching as the sand was almost finished from the top of the time glass.

Their acquisition of knowledge about the Øré, Shambala, and Stark, although still in doubt, simultaneously developed a keen interest in the organization.“Okay, let us say the authors are right. How do we find this organization or summon its members?” Stark asked, looking at Sheamush.“Well, if I had known all that, I would have simply told you rather than give you access to the secret library, wouldn't I?” Sheamush replied."Well, there is more work to be done by us then,” Shambala said, looking at Stark with a raised eyebrow, knowing fully well that he would end up doing all the work. Stark is known to be lazy and does not burden himself with learning tasks. He would rather pay a person to acquire knowledge than load off all his questions on the person. Shambala rebukes him a lot of times for this bad character, warning him that it will one day spell his doom. “Could you find me more books on lost knowledge?” Shambala inquired.“Sure, that would not be a problem,” Sheamush replie

This particular rejection and humiliation got Shambala and Stark so angry that they swore to become more powerful so that the organization could accept them.“This will be the last time I get humiliated by a fellow man,” Stark said.“That was not a fellow man, Stark. Do not let it get to you that way,” Shambala replied.“Let us get out of here,” Stark said, fuming. As they leave the crypt, they reach out to Sheamush for more dangerous crypts, so they challenge themselves to get stronger. On getting to the library, they were told that Sheamush was not around.“How do we get to the secret library now?” Stark asked. “Follow me,” Shambala said to him, encouraging him to follow him. They get to a narrow gate.“Where does this lead to?” Stark curiously asked.“It is a secret entrance that Sheamush showed me in case I had an urgent need for the library. Is anyone around or close by?” Shambala asked.“No,” Stark replied.“Okay,” Shambala said as he opened the gate, so they both went in.On g

“That was a crazy journey,” Justin said as Shambala ended his story with a hint of despair on his face. “You do not have to say it twice, my goodness,” Vladimir added."Well, that's everything I know about the organization,” Shambala said."So, do you know why they took my dad?” Krystal asked amidst the amazement."No, dear boy, I wish I did,” Shambala replied.“What do we do now?” Grover asked.“These people from the story are not beatable, so what is the use of even fighting them?” Vladimir said as he lay on his back.“Giving up? That is quite soon,” Shambala said with a little laughter.“We are not giving up. We became a team for a purpose like this, no matter what,” Krystal said.“I am with you, Krystal, but what now?” Riley asked.Krystal sat down as he felt the weight of the whole team on his shoulders. He has to decide as the leader. He has to call the shots and endeavor not to make a mistake.“I think I can help rekindle your conquest spirit,” Shambala said, looking at the te

“Each detail revealed about this group keeps getting interesting and, at the same time, very scary,” Justin said.“The scary cat is out of the bag,” Vladimir said, mocking Justin.“He has kept his composure for a long time now, which I must commend,” Grover said as he noticed Justin had not shown signs of being scared.“He has the right to be; you will soon find out why,” Shambala said back at Vladimir. After Shambala said this, the group was left in utter shock, as it wasn't what they expected. This creates different thoughts in their heads as they begin to join Justin in fear.“Do you happen to know their base?” Krystal asked.“What base? For what?” Riley asked, shaking."Relax, girl, it is just a question,” Vladimir replied.“Do you guys plan to attack the base of people you cannot even beat in a place strange to them?” Riley added, questioning them. "No, we do not have such intentions,” Krystal said. As soon as Riley heard these words, she gave a sigh of relief.“To answer what y

“How can one person wield such powers? Two artifacts? ”Riley said, sitting down, still looking unsettled.“This has to be a joke, right?” Vladimir said.“A lot of people find it difficult to believe this,” Shambala pointed out.“I do not honestly blame them; I mean, even those with one artifact sometimes end up being manipulated or controlled by the force behind the artifact. How then can one use two artifacts?” Krystal said.“Exactly my point. How do they put the two spirits under subjugation? ”Grover asked.“Your questions will all be answered during your journey. So long as you do not give up,” Shambala responded.“This journey will be a long one,” Justin said.“I still do not believe this particular information. Come on guys, it is logically impossible to wield two artifacts,” Vladimir said, showing his discontent with what Shambala said to them. They all looked at the old man with hopes of getting a ‘I was joking’ from him, but nothing happened. For the team, it seemed all hope was gone. What would they do now? The look on their faces was once the same as on Stark and Shambala's faces years ago.Shambala could relate to what he saw on their faces, but would it hurt to relieve them with what he later discovered about the Øré? Quite uncertain of what their reaction would be, he is determined to tell them the unbelievable. At this point, all that was left was to carry it out and not allow it to remain a tale of unbelieved words.“There is something I must tell you, lads,” Shambala said as he stood up and walked to the corner of the room.“What is that?” Vladimir said.“Let's see, oh, another thing you forgot to tell us for a reason best known to you?” Grover asked.“A good thought, finally,” Shambala said.“How nice,” Grover said.“That is some credit, Grover,” Justin said.“I do not need it,” Grover retorted.“Hold up, meaning what Grover just said is that you are deep down scared for us and only revealing things gradually as

I do not think I can allow it,” Riley said."Well, it is my call to make,” he said to her, turning again to the boys.“Come on now, lads, fight me,” Shambala commanded.“Hold up, why should we fight you?” Justin asked.“Good, if any of you manage to hit me, even with a single blow, scratch, or anything, then I will take back my words of calling you weak and of low capabilities, but if I beat you, then I will train you, lads. Shambala smiled at them, telling them he was not going crazy.“You lads need to chill out,” Shambala retorted, getting everyone's attention.“Grandpa is back,” Grover said, laughing as they all watched Shambala relax his fighting stance. “Grandpa did not go anywhere. You guys are afraid of what exactly?” Shambala asked as he wondered what he had done wrong.“Who would possibly chill out after seeing such and your later reaction?” Riley asked, frowning at him.“Do not give me that face. This fight is happening here and now,” Shambala replied softly as he repositioned himself.“Come on, lads, attack me first to find out if you can truly defeat me as you claim,” Shambala added. There is this further confusion that sets into their midst as they look at each other.“Well, we did agree to fight him; call what you just saw a warm-up and ‘the weak ones go first’ kind of situation,” Grover said.“You are right; if Krystal had allowed me to attack him in the mood I was in, he would be in his s

  • Fini

Grover sat meditating in the house of shadows. One of the most unlikeliest places that he thought he would be at this time. Not quite surprisingly, it had been a year since their adventures with the members of the guild and the Ore organization. He smiled gently because, at least, that was something to smile about now—because those were terrible days. Days in which they lived for months on the brink of the end of all humanity, only one step away from one wrong move. Beside him, Shambala was levitating. It seemed as though both of them were communicating through telepathic means without even saying any words. Not too far away from them, Vladimir and Krystal had just finished dueling that morning, and while Vladimir had stopped to clean the perspiration from his face, Krystal, who had won the match, was feeling a bit more excited and was walking away with a smile on his face.On Krystal’s side, it seems like after everything, their lives went back to normal. But, of course, he knows th

Krystal, in getting out of his stance, quickly lunged at the man, whom he quickly identified as a member of the organization. He remembered the horrible things this particular individual had done to him in the past few hours and was not only going to pay back, but was also going to take the opportunity to punish him for his offenses against mankind. The man quickly realized that he was in a dire situation with three of them facing him, but being a typical member of the organization, it did not even occur to him that there was any other way out of this. He was possessed by the kind of pride that could not ask for mercy. He braced himself for battle and began to fight ceaselessly, even as they attacked him mercilessly on every side.Several times in the short period, they would look at each other’s faces and, without saying a word, deploy the strategy on how to teach this fellow lesson. All he knew was that he bore the brunt of this skill technique, but he did not know how they arrived,

  • In The Enemy's Lair III

As Grover and Vladimir fought with the guard, Krystal simply looked on without saying anything. Grover realized that, at that point, he was unstable and also very vulnerable. It could easily be tilted in any direction if he stayed in that trance, so even as he fought, he thought of the scheme to get them out of this situation.“Krystal! Krystal, we’re here.” He yelled, but there was no response.Seeing this, they immediately continued to fight with the man once again while they kept trying to use physics on Krystal so he would awaken.Krystal remained where he was standing and didn’t quite pay attention to them, but the man they were fighting with did not like the idea that they were trying to wake Krystal up. The man was annoyed with the way things were going. It was his fault, but there was nothing he was going to be able to do about it. He had caused it. In that moment, he thought of a number of things. The first of which was the reason why he did not call for backup as soon as he

  • In The Enemy's Lair II

Grover lay on his side, thinking about how he had probably broken a few ribs and how tired he felt. This fight had gone on seemingly forever. He knew they could not give up. But he had to admit that he was getting tired. He looked to Vladimir, who was unmoving with his face in the dust, and did not like the silence, which was only interrupted by the heavy breathing of the guard. If there was any consolation in this situation, it was the fact that the heavy breathing was an indication that the guard himself found them a worthy challenge and was also tired.Just as they finished fighting, as they lay in the dust, they heard a mighty sound as the wall behind them cracked. Grover mustered all his energy in time to see what had made that sound, and he noticed Vladimir also tried to do that, regardless of how tired he was. Not knowing what was beyond the wall, he did not like it that the man behind it had been fighting. He was excited about whoever was coming behind it and looked at it with

  • In The Enemy's Lair

Grover and Vladimir had been fighting the security person they had seen by the gate to the cave, and it looked like he was getting the better of them. In fact, he had begun gloating, teasing, and making fun of them about how weak they were despite being two and coming against him as a single person.Just as he thought that he had defeated the two, a loud yell came from deep inside the structure. When Grover heard it, it took a minute to sink in, and he then became excited because he would know this voice. Anyway, this was Krystal’s voice. Krystal was yelling that he was not going to agree to be used.“ Arggg!!! Leave me alone! I will win! I have already won! I will always win.“ He kept shouting these over and over again, warding off whatever entity it was that he was fighting, saying that he wouldn’t give up and he'd keep fighting. The more they listened to the exchange, the more they realized that he wasn’t fighting with someone outside of himself but with something on his inside. It

  • Battle At The Gates Of Doom II

Grover and Vladimir have been deployed by Shambala to go find Krystal and his father, rescue them, and bring them to safety while he and the rest of the guild had a face-off with the members of the organization at the gate. Aside from the unfortunate fellow who had seen them attempting to escape and had paid for it dealing with his life, no other person had seen or been accosted so far because of the chaos they had left at the gate. Grover did not think that they would intentionally make such a stupid decision as to drain the entire facility of its fighting force to only one location to fight an enemy. He thought that the decision to concentrate their entire fighting force in one location was born out of the mindset that they had never been attacked here and, with the exception of the members of the guild, might never have even been discovered at this location. Grover also thought of how it was such a good feeling. Nobody was lunging at him to take his life or were trying to fight wit

  • Battle At The Gates Of Doom

As soon as Grover noticed that the portal and the gates had started shutting them in, he quickly shouted, “Fight for the freedom of the five continents, oh ye men! This is a fight for the earth!”This charge, as innocuous as it sounded, was just the right encouragement that his comrades needed as they warded off their enemies with physical strength and artifact strength. They fought as though recharged by an invisible force. While he was fighting, Shambala found a way to distance his mind from the fight and then his thoughts. And as he did so, he realized something. That one, when the bell was rung earlier, had a code to it. One strike alone would have been a major indication that the barrier had been reached. Two strikes would have been a call for reinforcement, being that the intruders would be too strong. Three strikes were a summons for every possible fighting person in the structure to come out and join the reinforcement. And if that was the situation, it means that every single

Open, open, mother of horror, and let the children come in. Kin or foe, you shall decide. For to kin your cleave and on foe you will feast. These words reverberated in Grover’s mind as he heard the crack of the opening of the Gates of Doom, and indeed, as they opened, he understood why they were known as the gates of hell. The others have been clearly amazed that the poem he heard in the atmosphere turned out to be the key, and as Shambala said the words, the gate opened. However, before they could jubilate, some figures flew out of the building, looking at them angrily; they did not look like they were pleased to see them.Obviously, since no one knew the location of the gates of doom, it was understandable that they had not had guests in a long time. Not like a place called the Gates of Doom would have many visitors at any rate. In Vladimir’s mind, as he looked at these figures, he quickly realized that this was where the battle was to begin. He only hoped that their fate did not e

Following the suggestion by one of them, they fired at the barrier until a building started to reveal itself in bits as they hit it. And as they persisted, the whole building was shown to be a gate. At some point, no matter how hard they hit, the building wouldn’t budge but continued to reflect their energy against them. It’s only made him get tired faster.Shambala had come to the front of the company and was able, after some time, to interpret the inscription on the door. He voiced out the words in the old tongue and then translated them into their language as “the gates of doom." As if the literal meaning of the words was not terrifying enough, the horror on his face as he said those words made a chill run down the spines of his men. Some of them, who had invariably been to close the door, moved further away from it.Of course, they knew that they had no choice but to go in knowing that Krystal was in there, and they would not leave without him. Seeing these things only made them he
