“I can't accept you to work for my company," said a man sitting in his oversized chair without looking at Logan. He just crossed his legs and looked busy with the cell phone he kept playing.
Logan raised one eyebrow. "How can you not accept my job application, when you didn't even touch the application file I brought?"
Logan tried to remain calm, though he was a little annoyed that the man had no intention of touching the file he had brought.
Logan was a student who had graduated from a reputable university. He even had a very good final grade, but the man didn't want to touch the application file Logan had brought.
Even though it was clear that Logan knew the company was looking for new candidates.
"Why should I look at it? Even without me looking, I already know what's in it. So I don't need to waste my time going through that useless file. Of course, you don't deserve to work for this company."
The man said again without looking at Logan. He ignored Logan and looked down at him. He also didn't care about the application file already on the table.
"You have to look at it once. Then you can decide." Logan spoke very calmly and sounded polite, but it made the man in front of him very angry.
The man put down his cell phone and then looked at Logan intensely. But the man was increasingly annoyed as he looked at Logan's face.
"Are you deaf? Didn't you hear me say I couldn't accept you working here?"
The man was getting annoyed with Logan for not leaving his presence immediately. Even now, Logan thrust his application file that had been ignored to get closer to the man.
Logan hoped the man would open the file and change his mind.
The man glanced at Logan's file and quickly snatched it up. Logan thought he had gotten the man to change his mind, but he was wrong.
The man unhesitatingly threw Logan's file away in annoyance.
"How could you throw it away!?" Logan was shocked. He immediately got up to retrieve the file. But when Logan looked down, the man insulted him.
"You deserve to look down so stay down like that and don't talk so much!" He laughed very loudly after that.
Logan quickly got up after retrieving his file. He looked up at the man who was blatantly insulting him.
"Lower your gaze. It's very rude of you to look at me like that," the man changed his expression again, but Logan just looked at him flatly.
"Do you think a useless person like you can work in this place? You're just a stupid man who's too stubborn. What can you be proud of in that file? Hah!"
The man pointed at Logan's file and then looked at Logan, who was still very calm.
"How could you decide without checking first?" Logan stood up undaunted, making the man in front of his stand up to Logan, who still dared to show his face.
The man laughed.
"You want me to look at that useless application file? All right, I'll take a look."
He forcibly took the file in Logan's hand, and without sitting down, the man examined the application file, and then threw it into the dustbin.
“OK, I read it, you’re not qualified for our company, loser.” He laughed.
Logan just looked at the man very flatly, even though the man had given him a lot of insults.
Because this wasn't the first time Logan had failed a job interview. Without any reason, he always failed and was looked down upon.
But he graduated from the top university of this country, and he was also the best student.
Maybe it’s just because of some bad luck?
Logan thought, maybe it’s the time for him to rest for a while, to get rid off this bad luck.
He reached into his pocket, there was only 30$ left in his wallet.
“Well, I hope this 30 bucks would be enough for my anniversary with Ivy.” Logan forced a smile.
"At least it’s enough to buy her a cake." Logan whispered. He thought about using his only money to buy something for his girlfriend.
Logan walked straight to the bakery. "Give me a chocolate cake for 30$," Logan handed the money to the vendor.
The vendor picked out the chocolate cake Logan wanted and gave it to him. "Here you go."
Logan immediately accepted the bread. "Thank you." After that, Logan left immediately.
"She'll be happy with this." The cake was already in Logan's hands. He didn't even have any money left to pay for a ride. That's why Logan chose to walk.
Logan had imagined that his girlfriend would be very happy. But as he entered the house, Logan heard a strange sound. The sound of a woman giggling and heavy breath.
“Hey, don’t touch there...” Logan heard some strange words.
"Whose voice is that? Is that the sound of-," Logan held back his words and thought very hard, "No...It can’t be..."
Suddenly Logan's heart was beating very fast. Many negative thoughts were now raging in his heart.
But Logan quickly discarded those negative thoughts because it was highly unlikely that it was his girlfriend's voice. But it was highly unlikely that it was his girlfriend. Logan and his girlfriend loved each other.
Very slowly, Logan followed the voice's origin that he was sure was from inside the room, until now Logan's heart was beating hard. Logan felt very worried. He took a deep breath and opened the door. And after the door opened, he found something that surprised him.
Logan tried to eliminate his negative thoughts, but he saw the opposite. He found that his girlfriend was with another man in the room.
They were acting intimately, clothes scattered all over the floor.
“Babe, guess in which company your loser boyfriend is being interviewed now? He would never know how happy we were here while he was scolding by those officers, haha!”
“Don’t mention him, he was just a jobless...ahhhhh!” Ivy stopped his words and screamed out, because she saw Logan was standing there, right beside the door.
“Ivy...what are you doing here!” Logan tried to calm his voice, but a fire burst in his heart.
The cake he was carrying fell down the stairs. Logan's chest rumbled so much that he unconsciously clenched his hands into tight fists.
