A hunch

Jared briskly walked towards his office, his mind preoccupied with the recent turn of events. He was still reeling from the revelation that Emily had betrayed him, and the wounds were fresh and raw. As he reached his office building, he noticed Emily approaching him, her eyes filled with regret and sorrow.

"Jared, please," Emily pleaded, her voice trembling. "I know I made a terrible mistake, but I'm begging you to forgive me. I never meant for things to turn out this way."

Jared stopped in his tracks, his expression cold and distant. "Emily, I need some space right now. This isn't the time or place to discuss our relationship. We have both hurt each other, and I think it's best if we take some time apart."

Tears welled up in Emily's eyes as she pleaded, "But Jared, I love you. I made a terrible mistake, and I'm willing to do anything to make it right."
