147 - Death, Life, and Money

Diego's mother, and his younger sister, Juanita, are devout christians. They have a strong belief in the existence of God, and in the eternal life after death in the hereafter.

They see life as only a temporary sojourn. Likewise with death, is just a momentary separation. They believe they will be reunited again, in heaven with their loved ones in God's grace.

“It’s not like I’m not sad about the death of my son. But I don’t have any interest in seeking justice. We already have the police, and our judicial system for this country. As for me, I’m surrendering myself to God’s will,” says that Mexican mom to a beautiful lady who happens to be a lawyer.

“But, Mam! You could just get some…”

“Enough! Even though I’m devoting my entire life to God’s will, it is not that easy for me to just let it go. Please don't make it even harder.”

Diego’s mom insists on her decision, ignoring that lawyer lady as she is heading out of that cemetery.
