Chapter 121

Julius walked into the forest at a slow horse's pace. His eyes scanned the surroundings, aiming his rifle at various targets. Several ground partridges seemed to roam freely without fear. Julius raised his rifle and aimed. His eyes narrowed, following where the gray-feathered birds went with great focus. There were many of them, and they were pretty sensitive to any sound. Therefore, Julius refined his every movement and tried not to make the slightest noise, even if it was just a twig accidentally stepped on.

Slowly, Julius touched the trigger of his rifle, and in one pull, a shot rang out, breaking the silence. He then bombarded the place and chased the few birds that left. Some of the tanhas flew away, leaving two lying on the ground to be targeted by Julius.
