Chapter 44

Jeff turned around, staring at Marco and his Uncle, who were deathly pale. Both men looked down deeply, not daring to look at Jeff. Corn kernel-sized sweat dripped down their temples and down their chins.

Jeff approached, "You're fired, pack your things and get out of here," Jeff said coldly. Suddenly, Marco and his Uncle looked up in disbelief. Uncle Marco looked back down with his hands clenched, his eyes glancing at Marco angrily.

Marco seemed unable to accept the decision, "Sir, I don't know what happened. Why were we fired? We've done our jobs and duties well."

Hearing his nephew's words, Uncle wanted to punch him right in the face. Thinking, does the boy want to destroy his own pride? Does he want to expose his disgrace in public? Is he crazy?

"Sorry Mr. Jeff, we know we did wrong. Please forgive us, we will leave here." The Uncle pulled Marco's hand forcefully, but the young man seemed unwilling to comply. Instead, he glared and slammed his Uncle's hand away.
