“The accuser, do you wish to make an opening statement?” The judge asked, while facing Mark Anderson.

“Yes my honor.” He replied as he stood up in front of the tumultuous crowd in the court.

The time for the court trial has already passed a few minutes. A large number of people in the city of Lanchester, including different companies owners and representatives, had already filled up the court.

Lawyers of the two sides were called upon for an opening statement. Each of which stood up to give the reason for their cases. The place was as silent as a graveyard, even when the courtroom was filled.

“Alright, thank you.” The judge said after the Lawyer of Sebastian, Don Carsten, finished speaking. “Now can we have the presentation of the evidence, and the witnesses please?”

Don Carsten has always been the family lawyer of the Prime. Immediately Sebatian placed a call to him based on the case, he did not hesitate to answer.

Then, pieces of evidence were presented by the Prime Enterprise and t

“I do not understand you.” Cindy replied with further shock in her eyes. The signature presented to Cindy was her signature and that of Juliana's. When she compiles the records, she takes them to Juliana to check them and signs them as the General manager to show confirmation. The signature was clearly recognizable by her, but it looks stunning to her, because she thought that all these parts in the record were already destroyed. Don Carsten knew the presentation of the signature would take her unaware. “So you mean to say that one of these signatures is not yours?” Cindy was left speechless once again, this was not how she had planned this to be, what was happening at the moment was not supposed to be. “Answer the question, young lady.” The judge said as Cindy was taking time to respond to the question. “No, none of them are mine.” Unbelievable! Cindy just denied any of those signatures. What would she do if it was proven that she lied? The response from Cindy made Don

“Did you just say fake!”Senior Nike was completely astonished, his eyes wide open and his mouth agape. He knew what was at stake if the Judge confirmed that the records they presented as a piece of evidence are fake. Now he wished he had reconfirmed the records forwarded to him by Cindy. But it was too late to do that now.If Mark Anderson who in his career hardly loses a case in court would come straight to him with his face looking bittered to tell him the records are fake, then he suspects things are about to go bad for him and the company. At the moment, senior Nike was perplexed. All he just did was to hope that things do not go wrong for him and the company in court. When Mark Anderson saw how senior Nike was looking, he whispered, “Well, I will see what I can do at the moment, but my price just went up!”“Listen Mark, go there and make a way for me not to lose this case. And I promise you, we will pay you any amount you demand.” Senior Nike was desperate and tense too. Now, th

“I knew it, Prime Enterprise is not a cheat. They are too Prestigious for that.” “For a fact, the Nike company deliberately lied against them, maybe just to get back at the President.” “The truth was hidden all along.” Some of the audience started taking sides with the Prime Enterprise even when some were against them from the start. The noise in the courtroom resumed, everyone had something to say about what they were seeing at the moment, while they waited for the judge's final verdict. “Order in the courtroom.” The Judge hit the gavel in his hand to summon decorum in the courtroom. Everyone was awaiting the final verdict from the Judge who was trying to view the pieces of evidence presented for the last time before passing on his judgment. If eventually the Nike company wins this case, they will be obliged to get their demands from the Prime Enterprise which include a billion dollars and reclaiming the seventy percent share from the President of Prime Enterprise. “You are just evil Cindy.” Juliana said fiercely. “Your acts have brought the Nike company with so much shame. And now, you want to do more of it?!”Juliana saw how eager Cindy was willing to do more of her acts. She realized that losing the court case meant absolutely nothing to her.Even when she and Sebastian are not together for some time now, she still would not feel okay if Sebatian falls.“You do not know anything my dear, I am even wasting my time talking to you.” Cindy walked out on Juliana, as she was headed to her car.She entered her car and drove out of the premises, she was headed back to the company. Later, Juliana walked to her car and also drove out of the premises, back to the company.***In the company, senior Nike was raging, he did not believe Cindy would forge a record about the finances of the company. “Tell the receptionist that if Cindy's step foot into the company, she should come straight to my office.”Romy left senior Nike's office to the receptionist, an

“A higher court?” Romy gape in surprise. “No way Cindy, I would not agree to that.” A few members of the senior staff in the office startled slightly and murmured. “That is actually not a guarantee that the outcome would change.” “There are many risks I would love to take in my life, but this is not one of them.” Senior Nike listened to the contribution of those in the office, then he looked to Cindy and said, “That idea of yours is a good one, but I do not think the company has such funds to appeal to a higher court.” The company just spent a lot on a case they eventually lost to the Prime Enterprise. Appealing to a higher court would be more fund demanding, the Nike company cannot just risk that at this state. Frankly speaking, senior Nike wished they could go with the idea Cindy proposed, because he thought that could be a chance for them to get back what they have lost. But the restriction was just the funds. “Funds Grandpa? The company has big friends around, apart from Be

The voice was filled with bitterness, anger and regret. They all turned to see whom it was that had yelled so loud. “Mom? I am telling the truth here. I have evidence on my system to show for it.” Juliana tried to convince her mother, after she noticed her anger.“What do you mean by that, Juliana? Or do you still feel for Sebatian, after what he has done to us? How dare you come here to cook up a lie because of him?!”Juliana was confused with her mother's reaction, she did not think she actually understood where she was going or what she was saying.Meanwhile, the reaction from Luis made Cindy a bit relieved. ‘How would you even dare to expose me in front of everyone in the office.’ She thought to herself.“It is not about any feelings for Sebatian.” Juliana answered. “I am talking about why our company lost to Sebatian in court. Cindy lied to us all!”“That is a lie!”Even if everyone would believe Juliana, Romy would not, he had despised Juliana since the day she dethroned his si

“Alright then, let's all go to our respective home. And prepare for the meeting that is coming up tomorrow.”The meeting was dismissed by Senior Nike and everyone made their way out of the office, having their mind set on the meeting in the morning by ten.Although it was not a happy one for them to put in mind, it was a compulsory one.“Hey taxi.” Cindy said, as she waved her hands to stop a taxi outside the company. “To the Sharon restaurant.”The company was closed for the day, and Cindy was on her way to meeting Brian at the Sharon restaurant, so as to know what he has got this time. She decided to leave her car in the company's garage, as she preferred not to always go with it to the Sharon restaurant, to avoid anyone seeing her car parked at the restaurant.***She got to the restaurant, and saw Brian seated with a lady. “What did you just say?” Brian mouth was opened in shock. “You have a son for him?”The fact that she was a wife to Sebatian once upon a time was mind blowing, but having a son for Sebastian too? This was more than enough for the enemies of Sebastian to use against him.Cindy, who was about to leave, could not leave because of what she had just heard. We knew what more this lady could tell them? What if she did have more to tell them?Using all these against Sebatian could be a way he finally pays.Cindy, who was already taken by surprise, said calmly, “You have a son for him?”“Yes I do.” Katherine replied. “When we were not together anymore, I was pregnant a few weeks later. He actually did not know.”This was exactly a bonus to what they would use Katherine to do. Most of the properties that belong to Sebatian now, could all be for Katherine if what Cindy is thinking of doing goes as planned. In the midst of unveiling secrets, Brian was completely lost. As Sebastian, Abigail, and William Prime left Prime Enterprise and entered the government building that housed the Director General's office, the tension was evident. The imposing tower served as a stark reminder of the power housed within. But they were all unwavering in their determination. There was nothing that would stop them from seeking answers.Clearly taken aback by their unexpected arrival, the front desk receptionist asked them to wait while she verified their meeting. They spoke briefly over the intercom, and then she pointed to two guards standing at a door further inside the structure."The Director General is expecting you," she announced nervously. The guards unlocked the doors and ushered them down a long corridor lined with pictures of former officials. Their resolve to face the man behind the questionable order echoed in every step of the seemingly endless walk. They finally came to a big oak door. After knocking twice, the guards forced it open, exposing the Dire

Although there was a lot of tension in his office, he did not waste any time moping. He got up from his chair, grabbed his office phone, and called William Prime's extension. "Uncle William, please come to my office right away," Sebastian said in a stern and demanding tone. He hung up without waiting for a response, then dialed Abigail. "Abigail, please meet me in my office now. It is about the Nike lawsuit and the commissioner." --- In a matter of minutes, William Prime infiltrated Sebastian's office with a worried expression in place of his customary composure. Abigail trailed closely behind, her face displaying a mix of interest and anxiety. Although he was still standing and pacing close to his desk, Sebastian motioned for them to sit down. As he tapped on the holding cell's metal bars, the officer stared at Cindy, Romy, and Senior Nike. "You might want to hear this," he said in a casual yet excited tone. Senior Nike looked up from his seat, his face tired but intrigued. Cindy and Romy looked at each other, their faces hopeful but tense."So, what is it?" Senior Nike inquired, his voice steady despite the weight of their recent ordeal. The officer was holding up a phone. “Miss Angelina's work has been going above and beyond. The application for bail has been filed. Although it is not yet complete, it is a positive step.”As the words took hold, there was a brief pause in conversation. After that, the three felt a wave of relief as though a switch had been flipped. For the first time since their arrest, Senior Nike's stern manner softened as he exhaled deeply. Romy smiled with a mix of surprise and delight, and Cindy's face brightened as she clapped her hands together."We are leaving this place," Cindy declared, her vo

Greene unhappiness was unhidden, as an overwhelming sense of failure pervaded the air as Greene and his group filed out of Gray's deserted hideout. As the group left the ramshackle building, the sun was sinking, illuminating the streets with a grim orange tint. As they returned to the black SUVs parked a few meters away, the only sound they heard was the crunch of their boots on gravel. Greene continued walking forward, his thoughts racing with frustration and unresolved issues. Once more, Gray had escaped their grasp, and this time it felt intimate. He believed that the timing was ideal and the mission was flawless. Someone had told him, and Greene could not get rid of the suspicion that the system itself was the source of the betrayal. "Back to the station," Greene said curtly as he climbed into the front passenger seat of the leading vehicle. Parker cautiously glanced at him as he slid into the driver's seat, but remained silent. His eyes were fixed on the road ahead, his jaw

In her office, Angelina’s phone rang. She picked it up immediately, recognizing her cousin’s number.“It’s done,” the Director General said in a low voice. “The commissioner has agreed to submit a request for bail, though it’s far from certain that the court will approve it.”A wave of relief washed over Angelina, but she knew better than to celebrate prematurely. “Thank you, cousin. I know this wasn’t easy.”“Just remember, Angelina,” he warned, “this could backfire on both of us. If the Nikes don’t show up for even a single hearing, we’ll be implicated in their escape, and the fallout will be devastating.”She nodded, though he couldn’t see her. “I understand. I’ll make sure they know the gravity of the situation. They won’t risk it.”As she hung up, Angelina sat back, her mind racing with the next steps. She was painfully aware of how high the stakes had risen, but she was determined to see this through. She dialed the Nikes, instructing them to be prepared for the bail hearing and

Angelina paced in her office, her mind spinning with possibilities. She knew the stakes were sky-high, and any chance she had to protect the Nikes was slipping away. Her only option now was to secure a bail for them, if only to keep their case out of the public eye for a little longer. Taking a deep breath, she dialed her cousin, the Director General, her fingers tightening around the phone as it rang.He answered after a few rings, his voice as calm and steady as ever. “Angelina, what is it now?”“Cousin,” she began, her voice steady but with an underlying urgency, “I need you to do something else for me. I know it’s a lot to ask, but please consider it.”He paused, as if bracing himself. “Go on.”“I need you to arrange bail for the Nike family,” she said, every word carefully measured. “If they’re kept in custody, their reputation will be tarnished beyond repair. Their businesses, their livelihoods, will crumble before they’ve even had a chance to defend themselves.”The Director Ge

Greene and his group charged into Gray's hiding place, braced for battle, their movements coordinated and soundless as they broke through the door and spread out. There was a strange stillness in the air, like the calm after a storm, and the room was oppressively dimly lit. They moved quickly, checking corners, staying vigilant, and keeping their weapons at the ready, but with every second that went by, the team felt more and more uneasy. Greene quickly realized that Gray was not present.Greene straightened, his jaw clenched in frustration as he looked around. He had thought Gray would be in the shadows, huddled in a corner, about to run. Rather, the space was lifeless, frigid, and empty, as though Gray had departed long before they did. Some papers were strewn about, a chair was overturned, and there was a slight smell of cigarette smoke, all evidence of hurried packing. He had definitely been here recently, but he had left before they could apprehend him.Greene took out his phon

Gray's pulse accelerated as he gazed at his phone, his fingers clenched so tightly that his knuckles went white. He was taken aback by his private investigator's news, and a cold shiver went down his spine. He had been hoping for positive news, perhaps even proof that his adversaries were losing sight of him. Rather, it was a shock to learn that Elliot had given the special unit team a lead."Are you sure about this?" Gray demanded, attempting to maintain composure in spite of his growing panic. "To what extent do they know?"In order to emphasize the gravity of the situation, the investigator's voice was tense. "From what we can tell, sir, they are getting closer to where you are. Elliot's tip appears to be specific enough to give them a ballpark estimate of your location. The team has already mobilized and is probably currently on their way. There is not much time for you."Gray's thoughts were racing as he weighed his options, and his eyes were darting around the room. His hiding

As the day went on, Greene walked around the dark precinct office, reviewing all of the things he had said to Eliot. Despite his natural tendency to exercise caution, Greene was aware that Eliot's assistance might be crucial to destroying Gray ShelfHe looked down at the screen as the phone in his hand suddenly vibrated. An unknown number. Greene answered, bracing himself as his heart began to race a bit."This is Detective Greene," he stated firmly."Detective," Eliot replied, maintaining the same guarded tone as before. "I have given it some thought. If you want my assistance with Gray, I have some conditions."Greene gripped the phone with clenched fingers. "Go ahead."After a brief silence, Eliot spoke again in a composed yet firm tone. "First and foremost, I do not want my name on any arrest lists. When this is finished, I will walk away clean. No trials or handcuffs. Second, I need to be compensated. A million dollars should be enough to cover the costs of risking my life. Fina
