"The guards will send her off. She can't do anything to you as long as I am keeping watch." Leonid assured.

Amelia smiled at him. "I trust you." She had other plans of her own, and Rose was helping her out.

If Leonid hadn't refused Hannah's offer for dinner, she would have gone. Rose had informed her about Hannah's plans, and it was easy for her to follow them through.

"What about having lunch together? I will pick you up." Leonid suggested.

"That would be great." She stared at her phone screen. "I have to reply to this text.''

They said nothing to each other as the ride continued. Amelia was on the phone texting someone; Leonid didn't want to disturb her. She seemed focused on the discussion as if her life depended on it.

Her fingers were moving at lightning speed as she replied to the message. Leonid guessed it was an important message that she needed to reply to too.
