''I want a baby.''

The words rang in his head countless times. She had a serious look on her face, and he knew she had been pestering for a child since the beginning of their marriage. He stared at her blankly. Didn't she know that he wasn't the one creating the babies? She blinked at him as if waiting for an answer from him.

"We can't have a baby now." Leonid confirmed. "There is danger lurking around, and it would be too dangerous to get pregnant now."

Amelia's hand slipped from his arm, her lips forming a gentle pout, and sadness clouded her eyes.

"What do you mean? I will stay indoors, and I won't give birth until the threat is over."

The look on Amelia's face was filled with hope; her eyes softened as she spoke.

''You are so demanding,'' Leonid murmured, pulling her into his arms. Her lips trembled slightly, and her body relaxed against his. He could feel her racing heartbeat as he leaned in to kiss her.
