The Heir's Redemption Chapter eighty three
In a place very far away, a mysterious man is seated on a large chair, his face unidentifiable in the dark room. He turned to the man on his left and scolded him, "You are incompetent! All you had to do was get the documents, you have failed me yet again." He snapped. The man bowed in shame and could not say anything in defense. "Get out of my face!" The mysterious man yelled and the man left his side into the inner room. "I need answers! Who has answers for me?" He snapped and everyone in the room kept silent, no one could talk. They all had failed to do anything to prevent the doom that was upon their master. "What if we use the past against him?" One of the guards asked. The mysterious man nodded and asked him to explain how that would happen. "How do you think we do that?" He asked. "He's been blackmailed a few times, he has several records with a private investigator, his ex-wife, and secretary, even the partner of the Hilton Empire was on to him too, he managed

Pete gasped as he saw the face of his nemesis in the flesh. Although she was almost unrecognizable, the fire had scarred her so badly that her face reconstruction surgery left her looking like an entirely new person, but her eyes were the same, the same cold gray orbs that spoke of fire and revenge. "You're the Jupiter?" He asked and the woman didn't respond, she simply walked to the seat that had been vacant for several years and took her place. The two men that flanked her walked toward her too and replaced the orbit. She nodded to her vicious council, ordering them to leave, there was no use for them since she was there now. "You've been looking for me badly, boy." She said to Chris who was still too surprised to speak. But then again, it wasn't just him, everyone on the table was awed at the discovery that the feared Jupiter was a woman in a tight red skirt and a large fancy hat. "Let me guess, you all can't speak now, can you?" She asked with an amused smile. "Sonya Alberto?

A few minutes past nine o'clock, Christian arrived at Anneliese's family house. It was pretty quiet and he knew they were expecting his arrival. He had barely parked when he could see his ex-wife stroll out from the house, she was dressed nicely and she had a cocky smile on her face. "What brings you here, Chris." She asked mockingly. Chris got out of the car and slammed the door shut, already regretting his decision to see her but he knew he had no choice, he needed to get to someone and she was his only link there. "I need yo__" she laughed loudly before he could even finish and stepped to his car, looking through the window curiously. "Are you with some media men? Have you come to see the last of your ex-in-laws?" She snapped. "Nothing of such, I have an offer." He said and Anneliese paid attention for the first time that evening. She was a lover of deals and offers and money and it didn't matter where it came from, even if it was from Chris. Anna finally nodded and asked him

There was tension, so thick in the room that it could be felt, smelled, and almost seen. Potter stood his ground and said, "There will be no rewards unless one person can lay claims to the deal." He said. Hogan fumed and rose angrily, " You have no idea what you're doing old man! You're best left with driving and laundry so just stick with it!" He snapped. Pete shook his head subtly, "He is the head of the table now." He reminded Hogan who hissed but sat down nonetheless, he knew there was nothing he could do to openly oppose Potter, it would only make it worse. "Let me guess, you think you can make choices here without even knowing how things are done?" He sneered. "That's enough! His words are final, there was a reward for just one man and that means that a combined effort will fetch no reward, it is nobody's fault that you didn't read the contract carefully." Pete said and Hogan hissed but didn't reply. Potter was mute, he was already feeling uneasy amid the influential men, a

Christian has very little time left. The Robinson family is a complex maze of power and politics and he more than anyone else knew loyalty was reserved for the wealthy and influential and most especially for those who were seen. The saga with the Jupiter had proven to him that there was possibly no man on the table who was loyal to the Jupiter. She was merely able to control every member because of her power and network and of course, the fear they had of her. Arriving at Stephen's house the next day, Chris was even more uncomfortable than he had been the first. He could see the windows from the second floor open, a figure was moving about frantically. Christian moved quickly into the house, he hadn't been invited and he knew neither Anneliese nor her parents would be pleased to meet him, however, he had a deal he knew Ephraim Duke could not refuse and they were merely pawns to get to Ephraim. At the doorway, the house was a little too silent. Although it was in the early hours of
The Heir's Redemption Chapter eighty eight
A bargaining chip determines the success of every deal, Christian had long discovered this. On that wet afternoon, he was driving several miles from home to secure what he knew would be the bargaining chip for the deal with Ephraim Duke. It was 2:31 pm when Christian arrived at the ghetto where Gufan stayed. Gufan Mellik, the leader of the Gufan Syndicate has been a close associate until Dave decided to break out. Christian knew that it was not a question of bad blood but that of loyalty. He was sure that word was out there already of his deals with Dave even after Dave secretly broke out of the Syndicate many months ago. He also knew that Gufan would see him as a traitor for not refusing to deal with Dave when he knew he was now a rival in the business. Christian had no business with drugs and weapons but he knew it was foolish to exist in the kind of world he did without having the backing of men like Gufan and Dave. Coincidentally, Gufan Mellik was the other bidder for the piec

The highway was wet with drizzle from about an hour ago. Chris took his concentration off the road for a second as he pulled his cell phone from his breast pocket. The way was deserted, he'd not seen a car in sight since he began the journey back to town but he hadn't expected to. Where Gufan Mellik lived was pretty far from the heart of town and Chris knew exactly why the man liked his solitude. He rang Anneliese, praying that the boastful lady would for once take her call and not try to prove a point first. On the second ring, she answered the phone rudely. "What do you want, Christian?" She asked heatedly, "I hate every second I spend talking to you about shenanigans." Chris exhaled, trying to calm himself, he needed to be careful with her, he knew all too well how erratic she was. "Hello to you too, Ann, I'm calling to__" "Cut the pleasantries, Chris, I don't want to talk to you unless you agree with the terms of my offer. I've told my parents about it and we think it's even i

Anneliese was furious that the lord had appeared at the moment. She wanted to send Chris out of the house immediately until he was frustrated and finally signed off his companies, but now that the lord was there, he was going to meet with him at just no cost. "Get out, now!" She snapped and flung her arms at the closed door, "This family has no business dealing with a pauper like you." "I'm a pauper because I refused to sign away my company? You are always too eager to reap where you haven't shown any seed, dream on Anneliese." Chris retorted. "That's enough, who is this?" Ephraim asked as he walked into the living room and took a seat. "It's no one important, lord Ephraim, he was just leaving," Anneliese replied quickly and glared at Chris. Laura sneered at him too and asked him out at once, "Have you forgotten that you are no longer a part of this family? You aren't even married to our daughter anymore, I was - we were - only trying to help you and now you're growing premature

Sonya couldn't believe her eyes, she gasped and that was how she fell into the orbit who was right behind her. One of them caught her swiftly and everyone quickly called for the company doctor. Chris remained calm. She was just in shock and would no doubt be revived with a little air and water. He could only imagine what it felt like to be thrown down after such years in power. "Where have you been, son?" Pa Pete asked and Julius only smiled. He was a spitting image of his twin, Evans Robinson and he didn't look like the years had treated him badly at all. Some of the men on the table who knew that their hands were stained and they'd been working with Sonya to condemn Christian, all looked down in shame because they could face him or Julius. "Now that you're back, what will be the fate of the executive board?" One of them mustered the courage to ask. But that wasn't really what he meant and everyone could tell. He was trying to find out what Julius would do to them that had gotten

Evans was a little shaky as the man took them to the inner recess of the tunnel and it became dark. Christian could still remember the way to Orton and he certainly could tell that it wasn't the same route they were being taken. "What's going on? Aren't we meeting with Orton anymore?" He asked and the man simply looked at them without saying anything. Christian swallowed nervously but quietly followed him until they got to a part of the tunnel where the light became brighter and they could see a glass room in the distance. Right through the glass sat an old man at a desk, Orton. "While I still breathe," Evans said as he entered the glass cave. "I never thought I'd see you after so many years, I could swear you vowed never to see the Robinson family again." Orton looked at them quietly and then offered them both the double-seated couch, asking if they needed a strong Irish coffee. "We'll be needing more than a cup of coffee from you," Evans replied with a serious face. He pulled ou

Evans had a plan and that plan was foolproof - or so they both believed. Right there in the living room, Christian showed the token to Evans and after he stared at it in awe, he said it would take them right to Berlin. They arrived at the small town the next day. Evans was in the front seat and Christian was in the driver's seat. His face was twisted in an ugly frown. "I told you to let Potter drive us, he's more mature on the wheel, we almost had an accident on the way here, I hate to think what will happen as we return," Evans said as he stepped out of the vehicle. "I hate this place, I could almost swear nothing would ever bring me back here," he spat angrily. Evans laughed at him, "Never say never, my son, life can be a rollercoaster sometimes," he said. Christian wiped at his head, a bead of perspiration had formed from the warm air. He pulled off his sunglasses and stared at the small pub that still stood in the distance. Karen was still in business and that only meant one t

It was four days after the legendary meeting at the Robinson lobby. Christian hadn't shown up at the company for that long. It made Jupiter happy that one thing she'd hoped for had worked out - Christian was too embarrassed to come back out. That fateful afternoon, Christian was at the Robinson estate after such a long time. If there was ever going to be a time he needed Evans' help, it was then. Arriving at the door, it was Melissa who welcomed him in and he nodded at her mutely and crossed the threshold. "It's been a long time since I last saw you, Christian," Melissa said as she ushered him in. Christian didn't say anything still. He didn't want to talk to her, he was in too sore a mood too. "I know what...how it went last time was not ideal. I know you trusted me with...well, I disappointed you and tried to cause a rift between you and Evans, I'm sorry," she said. Christian again simply nodded. Melissa sighed, she looked remorseful. She was dressed in a sheer green gown and shaw

Sonya did not look so confident anymore, her weak bones trembled and she quickly grabbed onto the desk for support. Christian still wore a smirk on his face as his grandfather, Pa Pete looked warily at the document on the desk."You got the deal?" He asked, his tone disbelieving. Christian did not reply, at least not verbally, he remained standing with a smile on his face. "This is ridiculous!" Sonya yelled, "There is no way this boy could secure a deal with Otec, there is also no way in hell that he knows Orton Berlin," she snapped. Christian dipped his hands into his breast pocket and retrieved the token that Orton had given to him, he did not bother handing it to her but simply slammed it on the table. With shaky wrinkled hands, Sonya picked up the token, she turned pale, her eyes wide in shock. "But how! I have been dying to meet this man all my life, how could you get the Supreme token?" Sonya asked, still in disbelief. "You are not the only one that can weasel your way into p

Sonya took the flowers and had half the mind to toss it in his face but she had to reign in her temper. She instead snatched it up aggressively and tossed it at one of the Orbits who held it like it burned. "What do you have to say concerning the challenge you called, Christian? Are you having a change of heart?" She asked and immediately one of the board members said loudly, "He can't do that! The entire board knows about it and we won't allow such cowardice!" The man snapped. "Who said anything about backing out?" Christian asked and the man began to stammer foolishly before sitting down. Jupiter was pleased with the way they all treated Chris, everyone was attacking him. "Will we all let him speak?" Pete snapped, his voice rising above the others. Christian rose and nodded at the roses he'd just gifted Sonya, "I picked those out myself, it's a shame you won't even appreciate it," he said and Sonya rolled her eyes, "I didn't recall asking you for any flowers, Chris, last I checke

Pa Pete was hesitant to begin the proceedings of the meeting and everyone on the table noticed, especially Chris who was just right beside him.Sonya must have noticed too because she smiled and said mockingly, "Are your feet getting heavier for you, Pa Pete? Perhaps it's not just your grandson that needs replacing, you too might be getting a little too old for that seat." Pete ignored her and looked at Christian who calmly nodded at him, a silent approval to commence the meeting. There was no need to wait, it wouldn't change the outcome of the meeting anyway. The orbits were right behind Jupiter, all six of them stood like rods, stuff, unyielding, with their hands crossed. Pete looked at them scornfully and then cleared his throat a little too loud. "Is there something you have to say? We don't have all day, Pete." Sonya said, her lips still bearing the same smile she'd exited the vehicle with that morning. "I think we all know what I'm about to say," Pete said, looking at member

Hope is a formidable force, even a single ray can light up the darkest abyss. Christian Robinson could attest to this as he woke up that morning, feeling a lot better than he'd slept. He had a feeling that the world was aligning right where it ought to be and he was at the helm of it all - where he'd always wanted. "Sir, your suit just arrived," his servant bowed as he entered the room. Christian hadn't heard him knock but he was sure he had, he'd no doubt been too lost in thought to hear. "Thank you, I'll be right out." He replied and the man nodded as he left. He looked again at the mirror and smirked, his crisp white shirt was tucked beautifully into his black trousers, and his shoe just a little shiny. He'd called back his servants the previous evening just as he'd gotten that token from Berlin. He had a feeling his life was about to change for good, he had a gut feeling. Christian left the room and took the suit from the servant as he got to his car - he'd decided he was dri

The exit of the tunnel led to a small boutique that was on the outskirts of town, close to where the train station was. As he climbed up to the stairwell and pushed the door open, he noticed that no one seemed interested in him even though they'd seen him crawl out of the ground. The receptionist at the desk simply looked at him blankly as he walked out the door and Christian figured that the establishment belonged to Orton, a way of making the tunnel he'd made. It was a brilliant idea, there was no way someone could guess that there was an entire world down there, an entire company. Chris could not get to his car that morning, he'd barely been able to get home in time for a change of outfit before he headed down to Otec - again. This was his second time parked outside the gigantic building and he didn't fail to marvel at the beauty of it all. He sighed as he pulled out the proposal from his dashboard and clutched the token that Orton had given him firmly in his grip. Coming down
