Axel's steps were halted as a middle-aged woman not only called out but tugged on Axel's hand, "Looks like you dropped something, here." The woman pointed an item towards Axel.
Axel turned his head and nodded because what had fallen was a passbook that Mr. Bastian had given him this morning.
"Thank you, ma'am."
Axel grabbed the item as he smiled kindly at the woman, while Katrina who saw it frowned. She remembered that Axel didn't have any money, let alone savings, but Katrina didn't think much of it; whether Axel had savings or not was none of her business.
Once at the bus stop, Katrina and Axel walked up some stairs. Katrina's apartment was a little further from the city. When they arrived at the door of her apartment, Katrina thanked Axel for his kind gesture.
"Where are you going after this, Xel?" she asked, giving him a glancing at him.
"You don't have to think about me, go inside. It's so cold."
Katrina nodded slowly and waved her hand as the handsome man was about to leave.
The next day, the sunlight was able to dazzle her eyes which were closed. Axel who was sleeping under a city bridge woke up, it felt like only a few hours ago he had closed his eyes but now the morning was approaching.
"Where do I go now? Will there anyone be willing to hire a fugitive like me."
He was getting dizzy. His head hurt so much thinking about the endless problems that had befallen him. The next second, he suddenly remembered the passbook Mr. Bastian had given him. Then, he reached into his pants pocket. pants that he had not changed in almost two days. He took out the passbook that he had wanted to throw away.
Axel rushed to check it and was surprised when he saw the nominal numbers written in the savings book. There were so many zeros in the passbook.
"This is serious..."
In disbelief, the man kept rubbing his eyes, if only he was still affected by his subconscious.
After checking the passbook, Axel began to wonder if he should go to the bank to make sure the passbook was real or not.
On the one hand, he was afraid of being pranked by the man named Bastian. But on the other hand he also thought about Berry's demands on him, it was very dangerous not if Katrina had to serve the man to alleviate his punishment. Axel knew very well what a girl like Katrina was like especially since the girl felt indebted to Axel.
"I'm afraid Katrina will do something stupid."
"Ah, what a fool! Whether I'm being played by Mr. Bastian or not it's to pay Berry's demands so Katrina won't do anything."
Quickly, Axel rushed from the bridge to Morghan Bank as indicated in the passbook. After arriving there, Axel just stood there. Staring silently at the skyscraper in front of him. He was completely dumbfounded by the huge, super-luxurious building. Never in his life had he entered such a tall building.
It was different from other banks, he had once accompanied his wife to the bank but not as grand and luxurious as this. Morgan Bank was designed for the elite only, they had at most a billion dollars in their accounts.
"Is this savings account real?"
Axel wondered as he continued to look at the savings book he was holding. He hesitated, looking at the rectangular object again.
At first, he was so pessimistic, that he was worried. He would be humiliated by the bank staff. A poor man claiming to have savings of over a billion dollars. Axel could already imagine what kind of ridicule he would probably receive when standing in front of the teller counter later.
Berry and Katrina's faces filled his head again and again, just how urgent Berry's demands were yesterday. Axel was sure that the man would punish him severely with a lot of evidence that he had manipulated.
Axel also determined his steps to approach the Morgan Bank building as soon as possible, after going inside, Axel's presence had become the center of attention because the people present there looked so elegant, unlike Axel with a shabby appearance. Some of them sneered at Axel.
"Isn't it wrong that Morghan Bank can be missed like this? How could a beggar enter here," said a woman.
"I don't know, this place will stink because of that beggar," continued her friend. The two women fanned their hands while covering their noses.
But their pouting didn't last long as Axel looked at them sharply, making the two women frightened. Surely the two women wanted to leave Axel's presence.
U"Let's get out of here quickly, instead of catching the stench of a hobo." Then the two women disappeared from Axel's sight.
After facing the two women, Axel would now face other shabby humans, especially the bank tellers, none of whom wanted to serve him because they saw Axel's shabby appearance. He was shuffled here and there
"Excuse me, I'm serving a customer," a woman snapped at first when there was no one in front of her.
Axel was a bit surprised but could understand it considering everyone was wearing fancy clothes while he wasn't, so he tried to move to the next table.
And so on until the five tellers he explored, what infuriated Axel the most was that the first and second tellers were even accepting customers who had just arrived, making Axel's emotions.
"Damn it! You guys are looking down on me, just because I look like this, huh."
Axel got up from his seat, approached the teller, and pulled the male teller's collar. Axel had been trying to hold back his emotions since earlier but the sickening thing just happened again and again until it made his patience disappear.
Seeing the incident, one of the male teller's friends called security until Axel finally took out his savings book and threw it at the woman.
"I came here to withdraw money, not to make a scene."
Axel's emotions were already starting to boil in his head, he felt ostracized because of his shabby appearance. He had just found out that this Morgan Bank was a conglomerate but that didn't mean he was treated like that by the tellers.
"Is it just because I look like this that you are reluctant to serve me, huh."
While the female teller quickly took a good look at the passbook Axel threw at her, her eyes rounded so completely at the sight that her mouth gaped open.
"Isn't this book..." The female teller was unable to continue her sentence because all she knew was that the book she was holding was a special book that only existed in this country. They left Axel stunned, how could Axel not look like a hobo yet... Aside from the gasp, they all must have been terrified that they had gone too far with Axel. They hurried to apologize, then treated him with the utmost respect."Just come here, sir... Let me take care of everything," said the first teller, as she also asked the customer who had just arrived to relent. Axel was so dumbfounded, rather not expecting something like this to happen. Doesn't that mean the passbook Mr. Bastian gave him is genuine? It felt like he didn't believe it yet, but when asked how much money he would take. Axel only mentioned half of it because for Axel it was more than enough to pay Berry's demands."How is that possible?!" thought Axel in disbelief as he stared at the brown envelope the teller handed him.
"Mr. Alex! Geez, I'm sorry I'm late. You shouldn't have been treated like this," Poppy said in a panic, then added her concern. "You're okay, right?" Earlier, when the bank employees were busy discussing a customer with a special passbook, Poppy had seen the passbook and that's when Poppy found out about Alex's social status. Alex shook his head slightly at the pretty girl's question, then it was more about the stares of Elena and Almero and the other people who seemed surprised at Poppy's treatment of Axel. How could a manager of Morghan Bank respect Axel so much? Even referring to him as Sir, is very confusing. Certainly, Elena and Almero couldn't get enough of it. Then, Elena interrupted. "Miss, I think you've recognized the wrong person. This is my ex-husband whom I just divorced, he's a thief! You shouldn't treat him with such respect." "Yes, that's right," Almero continued in surprise. Hearing Axel being insulted like that made Poppy furious. "How presu
Such a thing happened because Axel had said he would pay her with the bundle of money in his hand, of course, she would beg to drive him for such a large fee. Meanwhile, the woman cursed in annoyance as she moved on, "Ah, damn!!! What an insolent driver." She didn't care, just busy seducing Axel into entering her car. Now it was Axel's turn to give her a sardonic smile. "That's why ladies don't be arrogant people." At the same time, a two-wheeled vehicle stopped right in front of the taxi and also greeted Axel. "Did you order it earlier?" "Yes, wait a minute," Axel replied. The handsome man asked the online motorcycle taxi to wait because he still had something to do with the taxi driver. Namely, he asked for the money he had given earlier, this time Axel was a little pushy because the driver kept trying to hold back his money. In the end, Axel managed to snatch the money. With nothing left, it was clear that the driver couldn't just give up. He was still tr
"I'd like to see Berry, is he inside?" "Mr. Berry, come please." The burly man quickly guided Axel inside. Entering a spacious house with an interior that matched the paint of the house made the eye feel comfortable. No wonder Berry was so haughty because her house was big and grand. Unlike her small and cramped apartment. "I beg your pardon, Axel! I'm ready to pay in installments all the costs of your demands as long as you let Axel go." Berry smiled wryly while taking a very long look at Katrina's face. "Why are you willing to kneel before me for that poor man." Berry hardened his jaw because he couldn't accept that the girl he liked would prefer a poor, hapless man like Axel. "Axel is my savior god and maybe it's time I return the favor for him." "You want to return the favor or you like that hobo." He moved slowly from his seat and was now squatting in front of Katrina, "Don't you know that I liked you a long time ago if you want Axel to be free of charge
Ready or not, Axel finally decided to visit Geraldo's family. He called the number on the business card and informed them of his arrival. Along the way to the address, Axel was nervous and hesitant. He wondered whether the steps he had taken were right or not. His feelings at that time were erratic. He repeatedly considered whether to contact Axel's family or stop until the wind that blew strongly against his body and face barely made him feel any sensation. Despite his inner war, Axel finally let the online driver take him to the front of Godrigo's large, luxurious gate. "Here we are, brother." The online driver's brother had to say that because Axel didn't get off. He had to call out to Axel several times to break the man's reverie. "Ah, yes, sorry!" Axel hurried downstairs and reached into his pants pocket while taking the money he had prepared to pay the fare. This time, the driver was surprised by the money Axel handed over to him. It was fantastic, like
Axel caught a glimpse of what it meant that his assumptions had been wrong all along. At first, he thought Axel was an illegitimate grandson or an unwanted grandson but it turned out that a glimpse of the grandfather's story earlier that he was deliberately separated from his family. At least that was enough to make Axel feel relieved. "They've done this to my grandson and I can't accept it, Bastian." "Anyway, I don't want to know, you must avenge them! If you don't, I will." There was silence for a few seconds, Axel heard that but as a new member of the Geraldo family, he was silent even though in his heart there were so many questions. Who had the heart to separate the grandson of the richest businessman from his family? Isn't it very strange how a wealthy family like the Geraldo's could experience such a thing considering how tightly guarded the house is? "I'll think about retaliation later. Right now your grandson is here and back. We'd better welcome him." Luckil
But before the couple could answer, Axel answered first."Just ignore the unimportant people like them, let's go in." Poppy nodded and then turned around. Before they had entered the hotel, Axel uttered another scathing sentence. More precisely, he was responding to Almero's sentence which he had not had time to respond to."Oh yeah, you don't have to be scared of me like that because I won't pick back up worthless junk like him." Almero must have been very upset to hear that sentence, his eyes rounded with a flushed face. Elena, who heard that, began to get angry."You can say I'm junk, you're a smelly piece of trash who doesn't know himself!" Hearing Elena's words made Poppy turn to the woman but Axel didn't care. Instead, a faint smile was carved from the corner of Axel's lips, he did it on purpose."That woman has gone too far, it's like she's uneducated.""It's not that she's uneducated, it's that she got her diploma through bribery, don't care." Axel then invited
Poppy could no longer hear what the couple was saying."Are you? I don't know what you guys have to do with my friend, but since I came with him I don't want to see you guys keep bothering him.""And another thing, just so you know, Mr. Axel is a guest of Mr. Nasution. He has a special invitation card," Poppy emphasized. Almero raised his eyebrows while Elena laughed so amused that people looked at her. "Maybe Miss Poppy meant that the garbage man got a special invitation to clean this place." Elena was still laughing but tried to stop her laughter."That's right, he's perfect for cleaning this place!" Almero chimed in, and the pair got together to bully Axel. In response to the commotion, Axel seemed to take it easy. Having just seen Mr. Nasution stepping to the gathering point, Axel put a small smile on the corner of his lips because soon there would be a surprise for all of them. Ronal, who was holding a glass of wine, took a few sips of the drink, and then boldly s
