Chapter 128

She cried uncontrollably with her head on the steering wheel and the mascara on her eyes came streaming down along with the thick make up in her face, staining her shirt.

"What's going on? What's happening to me?" She asked herself as her whole body racked with sobs.

Her face hurt very badly where she had fallen and it was already swollen as the bruise turned light purple.

After her outburst in the restaurant, Chase sent an apologetic smile to the other patrons and they went about their business while he walked out of the restaurant.

He entered his car and the driver zoomed off.

"That was a good laugh," he said to himself as he folded the sleeves of his shirt to reach his elbow.

This was just the beginning of what he had planned. He knew Martha as a perfectionist and she was always worried about the impression she left on people and it made him a little bit happy to see her disgrace herself the way she had done.
