Chapter 48

“Francis!” Alexander shouted, calling Francis. He spurred his legs to run faster until he and Francis were only five steps away.

The small black dog chased Francis while barking. He looked furious at Francis.

Alexander had never faced a fierce or angry dog and didn’t know how to handle a small dog.

“Alex. Help me!” Francis ran towards a dead end alley, his eyes widening when he saw a green garbage can.

Francis hurriedly climbed onto the garbage can and stood on it, ignoring the stench emanating from the pile of trash. Perhaps the garbage can was whole, causing people to place their garbage around it.

“You can't touch me, little dog,” Francis said arrogantly.

Francis laughed heartily as he watched the little black dog jump up and down and climb the trash pile just to bite Francis’s legs. He didn’t give up even though he knew he would fail because he had tiny legs.

Alexander stopped in front of the alley. He stared at Francis blankly. His friend was so happy to see the little dog suffer
