The Leviathan came close to us and several streams of magic shot out of it from the sides.

The streams wrapped around the ship and rooted us in place as The Leviathan drew near.

Then the gang planks came down and several...extremely menacing pirates came onboard.

They didn't look anything like the ones we had seen before.

The men we saw in the past were pathetic excuses for pirates that were all normal humans.

These guys were terrifying...or they would be to normal people. Every single one of them wore light armor that looked heavily enchanted. Their swords, staves, and crossbows also looked filled with magic and highly dangerous.

Every single one of them had enough magic power to be an S-rank adventurer...at least if the charts I saw at the Dark Knights guild was to be believed.

Lastly, a very tall woman wearing a mask like a serpent skull and holding a bladed staff like a spear or a glaive approached.

I could tell she had long blonde hair and dark green eyes from behind the mask.

After a couple of hours of getting ready to dive, we had picked a team of specialists to get the job done. First, I would be going to carry the heart and help kill the guardian. I was also to be the team leader and my magic would ensure that we could stay underwater.Next, Isabella and Cassandra would provide support to me in battle as usual. I was much more comfortable fighting while knowing that Isabella had my back.Also...I had become surprisingly okay with Cassandra being around and relied on her skills to help me kill things.Lastly, Leiso would work with the ocean itself and ensure that we could move freely underwater. It went without saying that she would be, by far, the most useful member of this group. The entire ocean was a weapon that she could use to do anything. Truthfully, I wasn't sure the guardian stood a chance. And also, I wasn't convinced that Leiso even needed our help to begin with. But that remained to be seen.We wore special outfits for diving. By that, I me

I should start by saying that it made perfect sense that the legendary Heart Stones would be so far apart from each other.Regardless, I still didn't like the idea...It took us a month to reach our destination, this time. Thankfully, it was cut down by The Leviathan's high speed, but still...A month on this ship with Rastair... This damn giant woman...Not once had I gotten the impression that she actually had a thing for me... She was just a pervert. The rest of the crew had no idea how she really was. Apparently, Captain Rastair was utterly terrifying as far as they were concerned. It made me wonder how she kept her secret personality so well hidden.Regardless, we had become quite popular among the crew. They liked us because we had earned the respect of the Captain. If only they knew...Rastair named herself our 'eternal best friend' and was terrified of us. Additionally, she was also helping us in exchange that we would find a way to grant her immortality. Not that it was th

After Irwin returned, he brought us to our rooms and once we entered, we noticed something odd. There was a beautiful bed laid out on the floor. It was covered in clean silken sheets of the finest kind.It smelled heavenly and it looked wonderfully soft. It had a beautiful design of flowers on it. The sheets were lined with pink lace and icy blue threading. In the corner was a rather plain and unwashed bed that looked more suitable for a man half my size...a child...perhaps even a dog. It didn't even include a pillow and was hastily dropped on the floor.Yeah, they get one more chance. If they blow it, the shooting starts.Isabella could see me glaring at the shitty bed in rage and gently hugged my arm."Don't worry, my love. You'll still be sleeping next to me. I'll just throw that old rag out," she said. She quickly rolled up the old bed and threw it out of the door. Then she closed it and cast a barrier in front of it.Although the entire room flashed."Hmm...that should do the tri

We walked closer to the burned area."You know...maybe I don't want to fight this demon. I've already had far too much bother me lately, so I would prefer it if we just...didn't..." Isabella said."It'll be fine. Just use your holy magic to banish it. Then we're good to go right?" I asked."I don't want to fulfill any more prophecies!" Isabella said.As soon as we set foot in the burned zone, I heard a voice."WHO GOES THERE!? SPEAK YOUR NAME OR FACE MY WRATH!"Here we go..."We're just passing through. If you let us go-""SILENCE! YOU HAVE INVADED MY TERRITORY! YOU MUST SEEK TO DO BATTLE WITH ME!!! OF COURSE YOU DO!!!" The voice said as it interrupted me."No. No, we don't! Please just let us go!" Isabella said desperately."Wha...YOU!? THE ONE I AM FATED TO DO BATTLE WITH!? I SEE! YOU HAVE FINALLY COME HERE FOR ME!!! HA HA HA!!!" The voice boomed again. His laugh sounded...really forced... After we woke up that day, we were bothered again by people wanting to be healed and cured.Reluctantly, Isabella helped them on the condition that they stop trying to have me executed and treat me nicely. They also reluctantly agreed.Later, we continued our way up and made it to the second village. It was pretty much the same deal...We showed up, they praised Isabella, treated me like a dog that needed to be put down, she yelled at them, then we ate dinner just before going to bed.And the next day was also the same. We woke up, got harassed, Isabella healed people in order to stop them from despising me, and we continued our climb. Now we stood in front of the temple and Isabella was beyond fed up.We had climbed a great distance. The temple was located above the clouds."Th-there are...statues and paintings of me...in a swimsuit!? WHY!? WHY DOES SUCH A PLACE EXIST!?!? IS THIS HELL!? I DON'T WANT PEOPLE STARING AT ME!!!" Isabella shouted. She had tears in her eyes, so I instinctiv

We walked over to the entrance and Jallah placed his hand on a statue of Isabella. He grabbed the arm and raised it to make it look as if it were waving cutely at someone."I hate this cursed place..." Isabella mumbled as a secret passage lesson underground opened in the floor next to the wall."Rune and I will just...stand guard here. We don't really need to go down there..." Jallah said nervously.I'm getting a bad feeling about this...Isabella led the way and I followed after her.* * *I wasn't prepared for this.I don't think anyone could have been prepared for this sort of thing. When we entered the room, something sparked and a bunch of lights turned on.Actual lights. On Delvandal.I had no idea how they managed to do it, but I could only assume they had taken the technology from Elysium... Regardless, that wasn't the strangest thing in the room. The tomb didn't look like a tomb at all. There was a coffin with the image of a young man hugging Isabella while she looked loving

Jallah shouted.I could already feel a truly malevolent rage rising within me...For some reason...it felt like Vengeance was reacting to it differently than normal. The Oracle was quite literally dragged to the Cursebreaker. She had gone completely insane after being killed, tortured, and reset ten thousand times."I have successfully discovered the source of my curse," Vakra said."Is it her?" I said as I looked at the Oracle. She wouldn't move anymore."No. Her power is part of it, but she isn't the one who cursed me. I'm guessing that it was a higher power. But who could be higher than the Oracle? The Creator, of course.""So you were cursed by the architect of all of creation? That makes sense. Why would he want you running wild and defying reality like that?""Ugh...it pains me to admit it, but you are correct, Mizik... My abilities made a mockery of his creation and I was likely cursed as a result. Meaning that I can never erase this curse.""So sad to hear. But that's also a good thing for me. I don't think I would trust you if I couldn't contain you," I said."Right...and you'd be correct to assume such a thing. But I suppose I should get

I was led to a large staging area where numerous gods of the realm had gathered. Isabella followed and I instructed Stella to stay back. The three of us, that being the Albatross twins and myself, were the ones most hurt by the Oracle's actions.Today...she would suffer in front of her people. And they would bear witness to the monster she created out of her own stubbornness and stupidity. We currently stood backstage. We were waiting for the Artificer to give the signal. And that's when I heard him speak."Greetings, people of Excelsis. As you well know already, I am the Artificer. The Guardian of Dominus. Today, you have all gathered here without knowing why...and soon you will find out. Good citizens of the realm, some of you are still haunted by the things you saw before the reset was ended. Most of you have no clear idea as to why Excelsis was violently razed to the ground by the man who calls himself: Destroyer. Well...that is the folly of your former leader. The Oracle is the o

Finally, preparations were complete and the festival began.Currently the three...or four of us? Were walking through the city streets and looking at the different attractions. That is to say, the Albatross twins and Stella.I allowed the others off of the ship so that they could enjoy themselves for a bit. The Artificer assured us that the area was secure. He was sure that the Oracle's Faithful had completely abandoned Excelsis. On every corner, we saw a squad of six drones. Additionally, other groups could be seen flying around above.Still, despite all of this...Isabella remained ever vigilant. Always clinging to my arm and staying right next to me. Despite the Artificer's reassurance, she continued to protect me.Stella followed behind with a content smile on her face. After a short while of looking at the different attractions, I found Iris along with Carlos and Leiso.Carlos looked a bit bored while Leiso seemed out of place.Iris was playing a game at a stall featuring several

A few days later, things were finally beginning to look different in Excelsis.I could see flying metal constructs buzzing around in the air on insect-like wings, surveying the area. At the same time, many of the people of Excelsis were setting up decorations for a festival.Hilariously, they wouldn't know what they were celebrating until the day arrived. And as I sat on a bench nearby, Isabella sat happily next to me, clinging to my arm.Stella stood at my side surveying the area. There would have been other troops under her, but I chose not to bring them. The soldiers were specifically for the defense of the ship itself."Hmm..." "Is something wrong, Master?" Isabella said."You're having way too much fun calling me that, aren't you?" I said."Ehehe...guilty. I like seeing your reaction. But if I'm going to be a slave, I should play the part, yes?"I suppose so..." I said."I, for one, believe it to be perfectly natural to refer to his Majesty as Master," Stella said."Hm...right..

  • Chapter 252: Heart Resonance

As we walked back to the Cursebreaker, I could see Isabella constantly surveying the surrounding area for potential threats. However, many of the gods walking the streets recognized me as the one who razed Excelsis to the ground. The one who brought death and destruction to their realm. The result, was that they were absolutely terrified of me and made no attempts to approach. After all, many of them had actually been killed as a result of my actions. All the while I secretly remained on the lookout for a potential candidate. One goddess from this realm would join us on our ship. They would become mine forever and dedicate their existence to serving me and stopping the Corruption. But unfortunately, none of these would do. They were weak. I decided to ignore them and focus on something else.I had other plans, currently. I would be speaking to Iris and everyone about what she had to show them. They were valuable crew members, so I wanted to see what she had planned.Once we reached t

  • Chapter 251: Big Plans

After a month-long journey back to Excelsis...we finally returned.I couldn't believe how long it took to get back.We didn't have access to the divine transit, and as a result, it took much longer to get there.Of course, that gave me an idea. I wondered if I could potentially have a personal god or goddess to join our crew. Then I stopped and though about it more...Definitely a goddess. While more pleasing to look at, I could bring her even closer to me. And if she's completely under my control, she'll follow every order willingly. Best of all, someone like that is highly unlikely to betray me. I wouldn't have to enact vengeance upon her and remain on good terms...I almost smiled. That would be my next goal...find a goddess to join our crew to have permanent access to the divine transit. And maybe...Make new Enforcers...?It was too amazing. Our combat force would grow significantly from such a thing. We would be even stronger than before!I made a mental note to also have Iris t

Unfortunately, I didn't know enough about computer programming to change her behavior. And Vakra refused even under the threat of death. So...we were stuck with her...A hour passed and Cassandra affectionately held onto my arm while humming."Having fun...?" I asked."Of course! I get to be with my darling Mizik!" Cassandra said happily. Then I looked forward and saw an eye staring at me in mid air a few feet away."Oh...damn it all..." I mumbled. It opened wider and Valthiem stood quietly with her mask on."Valthiem!? What are you doing here!?"
