We landed somewhat far from Cain, so I grabbed Isabella's hand and imbued her with flight magic.

We flew further in and I felt her grip tighten on my hand.

"Are you ready?" She asked.

"Do it!" I said.

Then she threw me as hard as she could at the tornado.

I readied both of my swords and struck hard.

They impacted something dense and I was blown back by a shockwave of Corruption.

Then the tornado slowly dispersed.

"Well well well... So the hero finally arrives to slay the villain... Don't think for a second that your victory is assured. You might be stronger now, but you're still a weakling. Just like you've always been," Cain said.

"Just looking at you pisses me off, Cain. I don't think I have words to describe how much I hate you at this point," I said.

"That's funny. You'll be so much angrier when I'm done with you. I'm going to make you watch as I violate and murder that precious wife of yours. Then I'm going to throw you into the Abyss forever. You'll rot in a cell until you go co

What rose from the ground was like a literal nightmare. It was like the world itself opened up and a pillar of Corrupted flesh rose from it.It was covered in eyes and mouths... It had thousands of tentacles all tipped with the heads of Corrupted dragons. Then it curled and looked directly at us with a single gigantic eye at the top. It opened its massive maw full of razor sharp teeth.RRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo!!!!"By the gods... That is definitely worse than the Eldritch horrors..." Vakra said. Then he looked at me. "Good luck!"He quickly backed away and started calling his forces to converge and attack the monster."Hey, Mizik...? This is a dream, right?" Isabella asked with a look of worry on her face."This is reality..." I said."Mizik! I'm retreating to a safer distance! I'll call my undead to support you!!!" Aldaril shouted.I nodded and he disappeared."Looks like it's just us for now..." I said.At that moment, the remaining battleships, airships, fighters, and aircraf

To start off, a lot happened since that day.The vast majority of the military in Elysium was obliterated in what had been named: 'The Battle of Ripper Isle'.It was one of the many battles fought in 'The Corruption War'.It was marked as yet another global war for Delvandal. For us, however, The Corruption War had only just begun. Nevertheless, all but one airship and a few fighter planes survived. The brave men and women who fought in the battle were either infected or killed instantly by the Corruption. Their names were all engraved in a large monument to commemorate the battle on the ruins of Ripper Isle.Luckily, the Astrum survived due to being ordered to cloak and retreat as soon as Cain transformed.Meaning Rune, Rastair, Nasuria, and all twenty of my personal soldiers survived the battle as well.Which was quite good...We were also awarded for our strength and bravery in the battle.Isabella and I had our names carved into history as the saviors of Delvandal.Alwen persona

  • The Hero of Vengeance   Chapter 189: System Reset

After we had everyone on the Cursebreaker, we began preparations to go to Excelsis.Since it was a divine realm, normal methods of access apparently didn't apply. A god would have to be present to open the way. For that reason, Iris was onboard the ship.Vakra told us that the ship had the ability to deploy a pseudo-anchor for landing. Although he warned us that immediately landing on the ground of an unknown world was a terrible idea.He explained that there were horrors beyond my wildest imagination lurking in the dark corners of creation. He also said not to allow anyone or anything on the ship unless I could fully verify who or what they were.Other than that, if one of us became lost, we would have to build an anchor platform for the ship if we wanted to bring the ship to us. Otherwise, we had to use our key devices to send a distress signal. Role call was very important.Next, Vakra mentioned the issue of being transported to other worlds.Occasionally across creation, lesser go

I said while panting heavily. For some reason, it felt like something important was missing from me...like I had gone on a long journey but could no longer remember it. We spent the next few days training out in the wilds.By we, I meant that my Dad basically annihilated everything until I was level thirty.I selected a special class called ' Magic Knight' and the status menu person told me which skills to get. Among them were skills to dispel magics like illusions and to silence magic users, for some reason. It seemed like the status menu was concerned about being caught by someone.Another thing was mentioned that Vengeance hates shields and that I should avoid using them while holding it.I was also told to refer to him as Warmage.Warmage was concerned about something threatening the world. He said that I was supposed to fight it and my unknown skill was key to doing that.He started nagging me, actually. And when I got angry, he said that eventually I would be able to put a stop to the messages. He said that he was also trying to figure out what was happening as these messages weren't normal.I wanted these messages to stop and I would do anyt

The Oracle was quite literally dragged to the Cursebreaker. She had gone completely insane after being killed, tortured, and reset ten thousand times."I have successfully discovered the source of my curse," Vakra said."Is it her?" I said as I looked at the Oracle. She wouldn't move anymore."No. Her power is part of it, but she isn't the one who cursed me. I'm guessing that it was a higher power. But who could be higher than the Oracle? The Creator, of course.""So you were cursed by the architect of all of creation? That makes sense. Why would he want you running wild and defying reality like that?""Ugh...it pains me to admit it, but you are correct, Mizik... My abilities made a mockery of his creation and I was likely cursed as a result. Meaning that I can never erase this curse.""So sad to hear. But that's also a good thing for me. I don't think I would trust you if I couldn't contain you," I said."Right...and you'd be correct to assume such a thing. But I suppose I should get

And they would bear witness to the monster she created out of her own stubbornness and stupidity. We currently stood backstage. We were waiting for the Artificer to give the signal. And that's when I heard him speak."Greetings, people of Excelsis. As you well know already, I am the Artificer. The Guardian of Dominus. Today, you have all gathered here without knowing why...and soon you will find out. Good citizens of the realm, some of you are still haunted by the things you saw before the reset was ended. Most of you have no clear idea as to why Excelsis was violently razed to the ground by the man who calls himself: Destroyer. Well...that is the folly of your former leader. The Oracle is the o

The Artificer assured us that the area was secure. He was sure that the Oracle's Faithful had completely abandoned Excelsis. On every corner, we saw a squad of six drones. Additionally, other groups could be seen flying around above.Still, despite all of this...Isabella remained ever vigilant. Always clinging to my arm and staying right next to me. Despite the Artificer's reassurance, she continued to protect me.Stella followed behind with a content smile on her face. After a short while of looking at the different attractions, I found Iris along with Carlos and Leiso.Carlos looked a bit bored while Leiso seemed out of place.Iris was playing a game at a stall featuring several

A few days later, things were finally beginning to look different in Excelsis.I could see flying metal constructs buzzing around in the air on insect-like wings, surveying the area. At the same time, many of the people of Excelsis were setting up decorations for a festival.Hilariously, they wouldn't know what they were celebrating until the day arrived. And as I sat on a bench nearby, Isabella sat happily next to me, clinging to my arm.Stella stood at my side surveying the area. There would have been other troops under her, but I chose not to bring them. The soldiers were specifically for the defense of the ship itself."Hmm..." "Is something wrong, Master?" Isabella said."You're having way too much fun calling me that, aren't you?" I said."Ehehe...guilty. I like seeing your reaction. But if I'm going to be a slave, I should play the part, yes?"I suppose so..." I said."I, for one, believe it to be perfectly natural to refer to his Majesty as Master," Stella said."Hm...right..

  • Chapter 252: Heart Resonance

As we walked back to the Cursebreaker, I could see Isabella constantly surveying the surrounding area for potential threats. However, many of the gods walking the streets recognized me as the one who razed Excelsis to the ground. The one who brought death and destruction to their realm. The result, was that they were absolutely terrified of me and made no attempts to approach. After all, many of them had actually been killed as a result of my actions. All the while I secretly remained on the lookout for a potential candidate. One goddess from this realm would join us on our ship. They would become mine forever and dedicate their existence to serving me and stopping the Corruption. But unfortunately, none of these would do. They were weak. I decided to ignore them and focus on something else.I had other plans, currently. I would be speaking to Iris and everyone about what she had to show them. They were valuable crew members, so I wanted to see what she had planned.Once we reached t

After a month-long journey back to Excelsis...we finally returned.I couldn't believe how long it took to get back.We didn't have access to the divine transit, and as a result, it took much longer to get there.Of course, that gave me an idea. I wondered if I could potentially have a personal god or goddess to join our crew. Then I stopped and though about it more...Definitely a goddess. While more pleasing to look at, I could bring her even closer to me. And if she's completely under my control, she'll follow every order willingly. Best of all, someone like that is highly unlikely to betray me. I wouldn't have to enact vengeance upon her and remain on good terms...I almost smiled. That would be my next goal...find a goddess to join our crew to have permanent access to the divine transit. And maybe...Make new Enforcers...?It was too amazing. Our combat force would grow significantly from such a thing. We would be even stronger than before!I made a mental note to also have Iris t

Unfortunately, I didn't know enough about computer programming to change her behavior. And Vakra refused even under the threat of death. So...we were stuck with her...A hour passed and Cassandra affectionately held onto my arm while humming."Having fun...?" I asked."Of course! I get to be with my darling Mizik!" Cassandra said happily. Then I looked forward and saw an eye staring at me in mid air a few feet away."Oh...damn it all..." I mumbled. It opened wider and Valthiem stood quietly with her mask on."Valthiem!? What are you doing here!?"
