We were let in very easily because Cassandra had requested to see her parents upon her return prior to leaving.

She wasn't looking forward to this conversation and wanted to get it over with.

Cassandra quickly went over a few tips about etiquette with the royalty, and for the most part, I understood.

Mainly, however, I would not be talking.

As we walked towards the set of two thrones, Cassandra changed her way of walking into a graceful and well-practiced stride.

I did my best to copy her in my own way.

On the throne sat a man with icy blue eyes and brown hair. He had on royal attire and wore a crown atop his head.

I was told that his name was King Ronald Balthazar Albatross

Next to him was his wife, Queen Evryss Victoria Albatross.

Supposedly, Evryss was from a noble house called Victoria. Which was where Cassandra and Isabella got their pink hair. It ran in the family.

But they had Ronald's eyes. Evryss had dark blue eyes.

I was astounded at the mature beauty of Evryss. She looked a

Cassandra led me through the castle and brought me to a room on the first floor. It was an elegant room with a large window that gave a nice view of the moat outside of the castle. Although the window was locked and had been nailed shut, for some reason. The bed was large and had a canopy above with curtains around it. I saw a bathroom on the right. And next to it, was a pair of dressers with a partition in the corner.I could see another door partially open behind the partition lead into a large walk-in closet. The carpets were a beautiful dark blue with white designs on them.In the back left corner of the room, I saw a single wardrobe sitting directly against the wall."Since you don't have anywhere else to sleep, you can join me!" Cassandra said."Umm...is that okay?" I asked."Hm? Why wouldn't it be?" "Because... Look, we're engaged! And you know... If a boy and a girl sleep together..." I said."But we've already slept together multiple times. Why is this different?" Cassandra

"I've tried killing you so many times, myself. So I decided to try something different..." Difar said.I looked on in terror as Valthiem stepped forward. Her horrifying gaze looked into my very soul. I was frozen by it...and I couldn't move at all."Y-you can't be serious..." I said fearfully."Oh, I'm deadly serious. I want you to stop making trouble for me. If you didn't exist, my conquest would be simple! So, you simply have to stop existing. Valthiem, devour him for me," Difar said."I...obey..." Valthiem said. She lunged forward and before I could even scream, her hand changed into a gaping maw of sharp teeth and it closed around me...Just like it had for Gavin...moments ago...Suddenly, I found myself in a place of complete darkness and silence.I couldn't breathe. I couldn't see or feel anything. And then...I felt my body falling apart.Oddly enough, I could still see my hands... They were disintegrating before my very eyes.I tried to scream for help, but I heard nothing.Eve

After that day, we began practicing constantly.Cassandra managed to keep it a secret that we had been sharing her room, and we grew even closer. She couldn't decide if she preferred to sleep in my arms or if she wanted me to sleep in hers.I enjoyed both, but wasn't ultimately concerned with it.Sometimes, the two of us would practice fighting in her room. That also had a lot of negative feelings that came along with it...And shortly after we began, Cassandra refused to spar with me in her room. I was a bit let down, but she promised to train with me once the wedding had finished.Additionally, once the time drew close, we began to practice for the wedding itself.Cassandra decided that she wanted it to be a fairly small and private event that no one other than family would be attending. Unfortunately, it did mean that the Victoria family would be here. Most of them really did have pink hair. Even the men. But since Cassandra hated the other noble families, they wouldn't be attendi

As Cassandra prepared her tools to once again torture her current victim, the woman she'd caught looked on in horror."I'm...so sorry... Please...no more..." She said."Well well... You're a bit too late for such things. Trying to sneak into my room and threaten me at knife-point to have your say with me... To what end? Didn't you realize there would be consequences? I am in line for the throne of a nation! Furthermore, how am I to produce an heir with another woman?" Cassandra said angrily.Simply because this woman continued to piss her off, Cassandra thought about gouging out her eyes next. Then she wouldn't even have the pleasure of looking at her.All of a sudden...Cassandra stopped dead in her tracks. She saw the visage of horrifying black dragon as rapid images and memories began to flow into her mind. All accompanied by a horrible screeching noise and the roar of a dragon. She gritted her teeth as she felt her head pound like it was splitting open."Ngh...what... As soon as I died, I felt myself split off of...myself.I was cast into a dark place and slammed into the ground.I didn't know how long I was out...but when I opened my eyes, an old man was leaning over me."You sure had it rough. But you were probably one of the luckier ones. Welcome to the graveyard," he said."Grave...yard?" I asked as I looked around. It was a plain field underneath a pitch black sky. There weren't any graves or grass, just dirt."You're new, so let me explain something to you. You just died for the one-thousandth time. You are Mizik number 1000. But some of us have already taken to calling you 1k. Get used to it, because this is your home from now on," he said.So many things were running through my mind right now as I sat up.This old man wore a simple white shirt and gray pants. He had facial hair and emerald green eyes."Who-""Mizik. My name is Mizik. Everyone here is named Mizik, so you should get used to calling us by our numbers instead. Basically, we're

"That was so confusing... There was a fan club for me!?" Cassandra said."Yeah. You would feel right at home there," I said. She was very happy to hear it.So happy, that she tackled me and kissed my lips over and over.Since I felt entirely torn between loving and being angry with her, I sort of just let it happen.Isabella is probably going to be pissed. But I'll be glad if she has the opportunity to, all things considered...Cassandra laid her head on my chest and closed her eyes."We need to discuss a few things, Cassandra..." I said."I know...but I just want to enjoy this..." She said."First of all, I still want to get Isabella back," I said."I thought as much..." She said."I owe it to her for everything she did for me. Still...if you're willing to come along..."She looked up at me and smiled."I will follow you forever, darling! After all, I am Mizik's slave. His possession!" A week after my talk with Isabella, I was still in shambles. She had truly and completely broken my heart.Cassandra worked diligently to comfort me in my time of great pain... Part of me was still pissed that she had taken advantage of my memory loss, but I was also still very much in love with her.I couldn't help it at this point. Besides, I was thankful to not be alone.Currently, I was laying in Cassandra's bed on her chest as she held me tightly. She was really beating herself up over this..."I'm so sorry... I feel like I ruined everything... I only wanted you to love me and look what happened... I'm such a despicable human being... Why do I have to be so greedy!?" She said through her tears.I sighed."Please don't talk like that, Cassandra. I can't be angry with you because I love you too much. You're not despicable and you aren't greedy. Luckily, we had already packed our things into our inventories.Cassandra and I quickly made our way out of the city and started moving towards the Kalsan border.Honestly, I was somewhat fearful of going there right now...I knew Valthiem was watching us and would notify Difar as soon as we arrived. We were about to be spending a lot of time with one of the two people I despise the most.I couldn't wait to get it over with...Currently, night had fallen upon us and we were in the middle of the deep forest between Albatross and the border.Cassandra planned to move as quickly as possible for an entire day and then rest when we had enough distance.I used the 'haste' and 'haste other' spells to make us faster. We were actually exhausted from running all day and currently had collapsed on the ground."We...made a lot of...progress...haah...haah..." The Oracle was quite literally dragged to the Cursebreaker. She had gone completely insane after being killed, tortured, and reset ten thousand times."I have successfully discovered the source of my curse," Vakra said."Is it her?" I said as I looked at the Oracle. She wouldn't move anymore."No. Her power is part of it, but she isn't the one who cursed me. I'm guessing that it was a higher power. But who could be higher than the Oracle? The Creator, of course.""So you were cursed by the architect of all of creation? That makes sense. Why would he want you running wild and defying reality like that?""Ugh...it pains me to admit it, but you are correct, Mizik... My abilities made a mockery of his creation and I was likely cursed as a result. Meaning that I can never erase this curse.""So sad to hear. But that's also a good thing for me. I don't think I would trust you if I couldn't contain you," I said."Right...and you'd be correct to assume such a thing. But I suppose I should get

I was led to a large staging area where numerous gods of the realm had gathered. Isabella followed and I instructed Stella to stay back. The three of us, that being the Albatross twins and myself, were the ones most hurt by the Oracle's actions.Today...she would suffer in front of her people. And they would bear witness to the monster she created out of her own stubbornness and stupidity. We currently stood backstage. We were waiting for the Artificer to give the signal. And that's when I heard him speak."Greetings, people of Excelsis. As you well know already, I am the Artificer. The Guardian of Dominus. Today, you have all gathered here without knowing why...and soon you will find out. Good citizens of the realm, some of you are still haunted by the things you saw before the reset was ended. Most of you have no clear idea as to why Excelsis was violently razed to the ground by the man who calls himself: Destroyer. Well...that is the folly of your former leader. The Oracle is the o

Finally, preparations were complete and the festival began.Currently the three...or four of us? Were walking through the city streets and looking at the different attractions. That is to say, the Albatross twins and Stella.I allowed the others off of the ship so that they could enjoy themselves for a bit. The Artificer assured us that the area was secure. He was sure that the Oracle's Faithful had completely abandoned Excelsis. On every corner, we saw a squad of six drones. Additionally, other groups could be seen flying around above.Still, despite all of this...Isabella remained ever vigilant. Always clinging to my arm and staying right next to me. Despite the Artificer's reassurance, she continued to protect me.Stella followed behind with a content smile on her face. After a short while of looking at the different attractions, I found Iris along with Carlos and Leiso.Carlos looked a bit bored while Leiso seemed out of place.Iris was playing a game at a stall featuring several

  • Chapter 253: Missing Faithful

A few days later, things were finally beginning to look different in Excelsis.I could see flying metal constructs buzzing around in the air on insect-like wings, surveying the area. At the same time, many of the people of Excelsis were setting up decorations for a festival.Hilariously, they wouldn't know what they were celebrating until the day arrived. And as I sat on a bench nearby, Isabella sat happily next to me, clinging to my arm.Stella stood at my side surveying the area. There would have been other troops under her, but I chose not to bring them. The soldiers were specifically for the defense of the ship itself."Hmm..." "Is something wrong, Master?" Isabella said."You're having way too much fun calling me that, aren't you?" I said."Ehehe...guilty. I like seeing your reaction. But if I'm going to be a slave, I should play the part, yes?"I suppose so..." I said."I, for one, believe it to be perfectly natural to refer to his Majesty as Master," Stella said."Hm...right..

  • Chapter 252: Heart Resonance

As we walked back to the Cursebreaker, I could see Isabella constantly surveying the surrounding area for potential threats. However, many of the gods walking the streets recognized me as the one who razed Excelsis to the ground. The one who brought death and destruction to their realm. The result, was that they were absolutely terrified of me and made no attempts to approach. After all, many of them had actually been killed as a result of my actions. All the while I secretly remained on the lookout for a potential candidate. One goddess from this realm would join us on our ship. They would become mine forever and dedicate their existence to serving me and stopping the Corruption. But unfortunately, none of these would do. They were weak. I decided to ignore them and focus on something else.I had other plans, currently. I would be speaking to Iris and everyone about what she had to show them. They were valuable crew members, so I wanted to see what she had planned.Once we reached t

  • Chapter 251: Big Plans

After a month-long journey back to Excelsis...we finally returned.I couldn't believe how long it took to get back.We didn't have access to the divine transit, and as a result, it took much longer to get there.Of course, that gave me an idea. I wondered if I could potentially have a personal god or goddess to join our crew. Then I stopped and though about it more...Definitely a goddess. While more pleasing to look at, I could bring her even closer to me. And if she's completely under my control, she'll follow every order willingly. Best of all, someone like that is highly unlikely to betray me. I wouldn't have to enact vengeance upon her and remain on good terms...I almost smiled. That would be my next goal...find a goddess to join our crew to have permanent access to the divine transit. And maybe...Make new Enforcers...?It was too amazing. Our combat force would grow significantly from such a thing. We would be even stronger than before!I made a mental note to also have Iris t

Unfortunately, I didn't know enough about computer programming to change her behavior. And Vakra refused even under the threat of death. So...we were stuck with her...A hour passed and Cassandra affectionately held onto my arm while humming."Having fun...?" I asked."Of course! I get to be with my darling Mizik!" Cassandra said happily. Then I looked forward and saw an eye staring at me in mid air a few feet away."Oh...damn it all..." I mumbled. It opened wider and Valthiem stood quietly with her mask on."Valthiem!? What are you doing here!?"
