We had been inside the Hammerhead for a week, now on our way to the part of Nexus that we would be infiltrating.

Currently, we wore Nexus combat uniforms. The standard clothing of most of the citizens from that country. We had already adopted the appearance of Tyranus and Alice, and had been practicing referring to each other by name.

Currently, 'Alice' sat beside me.

"I really can't wait until this is all over, Tyranus. I want you to be Mizik again.." Alice said.

"I know. Isabella is the woman I love and who I married. I want you to be her again as well, but that will have to wait."

Alice nodded and then hugged my arm.

"I don't like Tyranus, but I can at least remember you're actually my husband. So I'll be Alice as long as you need me to be," she said.

What I didn't mind, was the fact that Tyranus was taller than me. He was around 6'5.

I was kind of enjoying the view...

Just then, the hatch on our door opened and Leiso walked in.

"Mizik, Isabella, we're approaching the coast," she

The first thing I noticed upon reaching solid ground after teleporting, was how much magical power it actually used.Teleporting myself was one thing, even mildly long distances. But more than one person? I would need to think carefully before trying this again because I felt exhausted for a few minutes after we landed.Alice put her hands on my arm and looked at me. I couldn't see her face due to the mask, but I knew she was worried."Are you okay, Tyranus?" She asked quietly."I'm...fine... Let's just get moving."There weren't any living people around, but we remained invisible and kept our masks on. Once we reached the fence, I reluctantly teleported us a short distance to the other side and we ran into the forest.Alice made sure to restore my strength so that we could escape."What's the plan, now?" Alice asked."Well, we need to get to the capital. So let's go to the nearest city and see if we can get on a plane.""Understood."* * *After that, we spent the next few days trav

Alice and I made our way quickly to the Abyss Engine tower. We reached a wall just past the area where we encountered Kazuma and I teleported us to the other side of it. Then I used the compass to direct us to the power source.Eventually, we came close to a massive tower. I felt the buzzing sensation from before radiating from before and started feeling pain in my head. To be honest, it was hard to maintain focus on the invisibility and any minute, it would likely run out.We decided that the best course of action would be to begin the assault now.The front door was monitored by two stationary guards holding assault rifles. Occasionally, another group of about five or so guards would pass by.Alice placed a barrier around us and the two guards, then I uncloaked with my silenced pistol ready."What the hell!? Who are-"I shot both of them in quick succession. The bullets penetrated their helmets and killed then instantly. My magic ensured that even their voices weren't heard. We dra

I wasn't really sure what I was seeing here. The guy from inside the tank was now radiating a tremendous amount of power... As if he had strength comparable to the other Enforcers. The guards pointed their weapons at him as he stepped forward and unleashed a barrage of bullets. The man smiled and waved his hand. They bounced harmlessly off of his skin"Lots of speed behind bullets. A lot of force. Nothing I can't handle, though. Let's see, here..." He picked up a bullet and flung it at one of the soldiers. As soon as it made contact with him, his head exploded. The other soldiers stared at the man in shock. At the same time..."MIZIK WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON OVER THERE!?" Iris shouted in my head."Umm...we found a guy inside the Abyss Engine. He's really powerful apparently.""It feels like...like it's...""ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF! The next day after we had rested, we gathered in the meeting room.Everyone was absolutely shocked to see Jallah still alive. Lots of tears were shed by everyone...even Gavin and Carlos. Dante as well. The whole time, Rune didn't let go of Jallah. At one point she looked at me and tapped her head."Need to talk, Rune?""Could you not mention my...less than faithful antics to Jallah...?""I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about. As far as I know, you've always just been a friend to us. Right?""Thank you, Mizik..."After that, Gavin approached us.He...smiled."You two aren't really so bad, after all. You might be otherworlders, but I can overlook that. Just for you two. Thanks...for getting our buddy back. From now on, you can really rely on me for anything. I mean it," Gavin said."Woah! Going soft, Gavin? I kinda like it. It's about time you showed those two some respect!" Michael said with a laugh."Damn, Michael...sometimes I really regret voting you in..." Gavin said an

Once we returned to Ulkanos, we arrived in our home and found Jallah waiting with Rune."Hey, you two! So here's the deal... I want to discuss living arrangements with you," Jallah said."What seems to be the issue?" I asked."Well...this is awkward... See, Rune told me you were staying in the room directly at the top of the stairs. That's sort of where I've lived for a long time... It isn't the real master bedroom, or the largest, but it's the room I've grown very accustomed to. I don't want to impose, but if possible...could I have it back?" Jallah said as he placed his hands together with a smile. He was wearing glasses today and his hair had been cut shorter. I wondered if it was his usual style. Regardless, it was a good question."Well, we've only just arrived here. Even if we took your place, it would be wrong to just keep it from you. Yeah, we can move. Is that okay, Isabella?" I asked. She nodded with a gentle smile."Awesome! Thank you so much! I didn't think you'd have a pr

  • The Hero of Vengeance   Chapter 102: The 'Battle' Of Port Davis

After a few days of travelling on a ship, we finally arrived at our destination.I say ship, but this thing was absolutely gigantic. The pride and joy of the Ignitian fleet. The Revenant. An 'Aircraft Carrier' that doubled as a destroyer class ship. It held many fighter jets, attack helicopters, and was outfitted with every type of turret weapon.Rail guns, plasma cannons, laser turrets, missile launchers, machine guns... It even had a few nuclear warheads to use in case the arms treaty had been broken.Basically, if it could cause mass destruction and death, it was on this ship. Additionally, there were many other ships surrounding this one. Destroyers, troop and vehicle carriers, other aircraft carriers, and the like.Leiso's military might was truly a sight to behold. As soon as we reached the destination far enough away from the port, I could see just a bit of land in the distance. From what I could tell...Port Davis wasn't just a high volume military port. It was an enormous c

  • The Hero of Vengeance   Chapter 103: Port Leiso

"I hereby name this camp PORT LEISO!" Leiso shouted mightily. Many soldiers roared in excitement. We spent several hours fishing soldiers out of the water and recovering as much of the wreckage as we could. Once that had been taken care of, we moved to the former location of Port Davis.Since there was a massive smoldering crater in the ground that had partially filled with seawater, we decided to camp next to it instead of in it. Leiso spit several times into the hole and stomped the ground next to it at the time.Luckily, the ether particles had already dispersed. There was no toxicity in the air at all. Perfect.Although many of the trees and surrounding areas had been decimated by the shockwave from my spell...Once the base camp was established, Leiso had gathered everyone here to shout about our victory. She brought Isabella up on the hastily thrown together stage to sing and play the violin for everyone to raise morale. The men were greatly entranced by her beauty, voice, and s

  • The Hero of Vengeance   Chapter 104: The Warmage

After we awoke, we checked our gear and headed out. We found the remaining Enforcers along with a still very-serious Michael."Oh, good. They're here, now," Dante said."Right as I was about to report in. Excellent. So here's the deal: Sector 7-E has already prepared it's defenses. They've mobilized troops to defend the forest around it and they have guns aimed in our direction. They sent a few spys our way, but they weren't a problem for me," Michael said."Good report. Now then, do you have an idea I how to tackle this?" Dante asked."Obviously, the seven of us could just walk over and obliterate everything. That's what they're expecting. But I have a better idea. I want to demoralize them even further than we have already. Mizik destroyed the Port and Leiso killed Overlord Davis. I want Mizik to walk over and take down Sector 7-E by himself," Michael said."Why me? And shouldn't I have backup?" I said.Michael looked at me and furrowed his brow."Mizik...you have two Ultra Aspects.

The Oracle was quite literally dragged to the Cursebreaker. She had gone completely insane after being killed, tortured, and reset ten thousand times."I have successfully discovered the source of my curse," Vakra said."Is it her?" I said as I looked at the Oracle. She wouldn't move anymore."No. Her power is part of it, but she isn't the one who cursed me. I'm guessing that it was a higher power. But who could be higher than the Oracle? The Creator, of course.""So you were cursed by the architect of all of creation? That makes sense. Why would he want you running wild and defying reality like that?""Ugh...it pains me to admit it, but you are correct, Mizik... My abilities made a mockery of his creation and I was likely cursed as a result. Meaning that I can never erase this curse.""So sad to hear. But that's also a good thing for me. I don't think I would trust you if I couldn't contain you," I said."Right...and you'd be correct to assume such a thing. But I suppose I should get

I was led to a large staging area where numerous gods of the realm had gathered. Isabella followed and I instructed Stella to stay back. The three of us, that being the Albatross twins and myself, were the ones most hurt by the Oracle's actions.Today...she would suffer in front of her people. And they would bear witness to the monster she created out of her own stubbornness and stupidity. We currently stood backstage. We were waiting for the Artificer to give the signal. And that's when I heard him speak."Greetings, people of Excelsis. As you well know already, I am the Artificer. The Guardian of Dominus. Today, you have all gathered here without knowing why...and soon you will find out. Good citizens of the realm, some of you are still haunted by the things you saw before the reset was ended. Most of you have no clear idea as to why Excelsis was violently razed to the ground by the man who calls himself: Destroyer. Well...that is the folly of your former leader. The Oracle is the o

The Artificer assured us that the area was secure. He was sure that the Oracle's Faithful had completely abandoned Excelsis. On every corner, we saw a squad of six drones. Additionally, other groups could be seen flying around above.Still, despite all of this...Isabella remained ever vigilant. Always clinging to my arm and staying right next to me. Despite the Artificer's reassurance, she continued to protect me.Stella followed behind with a content smile on her face. After a short while of looking at the different attractions, I found Iris along with Carlos and Leiso.Carlos looked a bit bored while Leiso seemed out of place.Iris was playing a game at a stall featuring several

A few days later, things were finally beginning to look different in Excelsis.I could see flying metal constructs buzzing around in the air on insect-like wings, surveying the area. At the same time, many of the people of Excelsis were setting up decorations for a festival.Hilariously, they wouldn't know what they were celebrating until the day arrived. And as I sat on a bench nearby, Isabella sat happily next to me, clinging to my arm.Stella stood at my side surveying the area. There would have been other troops under her, but I chose not to bring them. The soldiers were specifically for the defense of the ship itself."Hmm..." "Is something wrong, Master?" Isabella said."You're having way too much fun calling me that, aren't you?" I said."Ehehe...guilty. I like seeing your reaction. But if I'm going to be a slave, I should play the part, yes?"I suppose so..." I said."I, for one, believe it to be perfectly natural to refer to his Majesty as Master," Stella said."Hm...right..

  • Chapter 252: Heart Resonance

As we walked back to the Cursebreaker, I could see Isabella constantly surveying the surrounding area for potential threats. However, many of the gods walking the streets recognized me as the one who razed Excelsis to the ground. The one who brought death and destruction to their realm. The result, was that they were absolutely terrified of me and made no attempts to approach. After all, many of them had actually been killed as a result of my actions. All the while I secretly remained on the lookout for a potential candidate. One goddess from this realm would join us on our ship. They would become mine forever and dedicate their existence to serving me and stopping the Corruption. But unfortunately, none of these would do. They were weak. I decided to ignore them and focus on something else.I had other plans, currently. I would be speaking to Iris and everyone about what she had to show them. They were valuable crew members, so I wanted to see what she had planned.Once we reached t

  • Chapter 251: Big Plans

After a month-long journey back to Excelsis...we finally returned.I couldn't believe how long it took to get back.We didn't have access to the divine transit, and as a result, it took much longer to get there.Of course, that gave me an idea. I wondered if I could potentially have a personal god or goddess to join our crew. Then I stopped and though about it more...Definitely a goddess. While more pleasing to look at, I could bring her even closer to me. And if she's completely under my control, she'll follow every order willingly. Best of all, someone like that is highly unlikely to betray me. I wouldn't have to enact vengeance upon her and remain on good terms...I almost smiled. That would be my next goal...find a goddess to join our crew to have permanent access to the divine transit. And maybe...Make new Enforcers...?It was too amazing. Our combat force would grow significantly from such a thing. We would be even stronger than before!I made a mental note to also have Iris t

Unfortunately, I didn't know enough about computer programming to change her behavior. And Vakra refused even under the threat of death. So...we were stuck with her...A hour passed and Cassandra affectionately held onto my arm while humming."Having fun...?" I asked."Of course! I get to be with my darling Mizik!"
