Chaos

For a couple of seconds, Mordred felt as if his body is in a suspended state. He cannot move it and, during this period, he began taking in a couple of information that’s handed to him. Things that are shown through a system window which has the following text:

[You have entered the pocket dimension.]

[You’ve entered a memory of the demon lord.]

[You can only use the weapon that’s given to you.]

[Current Level: 5]

[Level Requirement: 5]

[Level Suggestion: 10]

At this point, Mordred is finally able to feel his body a lot better. He can feel his arms and feet and, can even move his fingers but nothing more than that. As for his surroundings, well, he seems to be in a place that’s being burned because of all the flames that he can see around.

He can feel some of the heat but, not the full extent of it yet because he hasn’t fully integrated into the pocket dimension yet. That will change soon enough. It will only take a couple more minutes for all the danger and trial to begin.

[Notice: The difficulty of the trial is increased based on your current level and the recommended level.]

“I figured as much.” Mordred said, finally able to move his lips and speak. “Maybe I should’ve waited until I reached [Level 10] or something.”

Mordred isn’t actually considering this though. All his life he’s gotten used to things being difficult for him. He’s used to things being harder for him than most to be more precise. That’s why he decided on entering this [Pocket Dimension] as soon as he reached the minimum required level and, there’s nothing about this that he regrets.

His body returned to him after five more minutes passed. Mordred doesn’t feel any kind of numbness anymore. Though he does feel that his body is smaller than normal. His hands are sized down and, he is too close to the ground even though he’s standing straight.

“Am I in a child’s body right now?” Mordred muttered in utter disbelief. Though he does not have time to complain further because, another system window popped up before him.

[Objective: Survive for twenty minutes.]

“Twenty minutes huh… that’s going to be a real pain in the ass.”

Mordred looked around him. All he can see for as far as the eye can reach are monsters being killed and he will meet the same fate soon if he doesn’t move When he looked at his hands earlier, he noticed that he has claws instead of regular nails. The color of his skin is too pale as well. These are enough to tell him that he isn’t on the side of the humans who are continuing to destroy this monster village.

“Leave nothing behind!! Don’t let these abominations exist within our world!” These are the orders of a knight riding a horse.

Mordred can already see that this knight is different from the rest. He cannot identify the armor being worn by both the knight and the horse but, it doesn’t take rocket science to figure out that this is the commanding officer of the group.

As for the monsters, they are mostly demons. Mordred can see the horns that can only belong to demonkin and, the fact that the creature resemble humans just proves his point even more. But now is not the time for him to analyze things too deeply. He has to run because, there is a soldier running towards him.

“Die you scum!”

These are the last words that the soldier is able to say before he is tackled by a demon. Stabbed at the side of his body – allowing Mordred to run away.

“Where the hell am I supposed to run to in this kind of mess?” This is the thought running through Mordred’s head.

The decision he made is to run towards a single direction. Even though Mordred doesn’t have any clue on what’s going on, this seems to be the best course of action he can take. To run as fast as he could in a path that is less dangerous than the rest. Yet as he moved, two more soldiers suddenly stood in his way, both of which held their swords and pointed it at him.

There are two things that Mordred can do. Both of which are idiotic in their own right. The first is that, he can run away. He can turn around and run away from these two soldiers. But that isn’t any good.

These are grown men and trained fighters. These facts alone are enough for him to know that they can catch up to him in a matter of seconds. Not only that but Mordred won’t have time to look back and, before he knows it, these two would already decapitate him.

Then there’s the second option. Something as idiotic as the first but, is nevertheless the one that Mordred thinks he can pull off – fighting the soldiers.

“You think you can kill me huh…” Mordred ran towards his enemies in a straight line. The words he muttered to himself remained that way. Just to himself.

He continued moving towards the soldiers while crying his heart out, making a scene and making it look like he’s nothing more than a defenseless child demon. An act that worked perfectly well against his opponents who then dashed towards him to slice him down. Doing so in a manner that lacks any sort of defense on their part. Leaving them full of openings and, because of this, Mordred is able to fight back.

“Die.” Mordred threw his dagger towards the soldiers – right at the eye of one of them. This hit and made the soldier fall down instantly. The shock from what happened caused the other soldier to be unable to act for a couple of seconds and, Mordred capitalized on this as well.

The demon jumped up to the neck of the soldier. If there’s one thing he knows about demons, it’s that they have razor sharp teeth. Almost as if they are wild beasts. Using this lethal weapon that’s bestowed on the body he’s in, he immediately bit the neck of the second soldier.

His teeth dug deep into the flesh of the poor human without much problem. As soon as he locked in, he then twisted it and pulled it away. Ripping off the flesh that’s now in his mouth as the blood of the soldier began spraying out of the gapping wound.

Mordred, although in a child’s body, still has all of the experience that he accumulated during his time as a veteran human warrior. He knows everything there is to know about demon biology and, has experienced countless battles within the war.

It won’t be an overstatement to say that he is the strongest warrior – being the human that transcended every shred of doubt as he almost defeated the great demon lord. The strongest being to ever exist in this world of theirs.

“You call yourselves soldiers when you’re only this strong? You bunch are pathetic.”

Mordred took the dagger that he threw at the eye of the first soldier and continued stabbing it deeper. Hitting the brain of his opponent and killing the soldier right away. The second one will bleed to death so there’s no problem with it anymore. All he has to do now is to continue running away.

Something that’s made difficult by the fact that, there are three more soldiers that are now coming towards him. The display he put seem to have attracted the attention of nearby enemies.

“Great. Just what I needed.” Mordred sarcastically commented as he ran towards the direction where there’s the least number of enemies.

As he ran, he witnessed how the demons continued getting killed by the humans. It’s a bloody scene that’s far from anything that he’s used to. During his time, it isn’t the demon that are being killed mercilessly, it’s the humans. And so, seeing everything go in b this direction didn’t make sense to him.

But then again, thit doesn’t have to. This is nothing more than a trial and, it probably doesn’t have anything to do with reality. That’s why Mordred didn’t think about it anymore. He doesn’t have time to because, there is another enemy that appeared in front of him.

“Die demon!” The soldier said as he slashed his weapon towards Mordred.

Mordred dodged this by ducking down. However, the blade quickly came after him a second time. The blade rushed towards him in an upward direction. Mordred quickly moved his body back to dodge but, isn’t able to do so completely as the blade still hit his left cheek, slicing through his flesh and making some of his black blood drip out.

In return, Mordred made sure that he’d be able to damage his enemy a lot more. The demon took hold of his dagger and threw it at the neck of the soldier, right at the same time as the secondary swing was made. The blade made contact and is now stuck on the neck of the solider – making blood spray out as the soldier fell to his knees.

The burn and sting from the wound is there. As realistic as it can get. Telling Mordred that all of these is really happening and, should he fail, there’s a great chance he’d die. But that is only if he’s weak enough to get killed.

“You guys really think you can kill me huh? You’re a miserable bunch, just as much as you are all delusional.” Mordred chuckled. “Let’s see how much you can entertain me.”

Mordred wanted to take back his dagger but, that just isn’t possible anymore. The other soldiers are now too close; continuing to draw closer to him. Should he take it back, there’s a great chance that he would be cornered. So, instead, he decided to run again.

He moved towards the north. A single soldier is in his path, running towards him, but this is a lot better compared to the clump of soldiers that he may have to face on every other direction.

That’s when an arrows flew towards his direction. In front of him a soldier is about to attack, on his back is a larger number of soldiers about to attack him. And at his side, there are the arrows that are already aimed at his head.

There is no escaping this time around. It isn’t even Mordred’s fault that he didn’t notice. The body that he’s using is just too short and he doesn’t have a good feel of it yet. With all of the chaos and noise going rampant, it will take a miracle for him to notice such a projectile.

Though that isn’t an excuse for what’s about to happen. Mordred simply clicked his tongue. Thinking how stupid he is.

Then the arrow made contact.
