A Little More

Jack sat on the hospital bed, his brown eyes focused on the ceiling, which offered no answers to the questions that were bothering him. The quiet atmosphere in the room made him reflect deeper into himself. The bright lights in the treatment room created a gloomy atmosphere, reflecting the complexity of his thoughts that could not be overcome simply.

The smell of medicine and the noise of medical machines mixed with the worry that enveloped the room. As Ashley sneezed next to him, Jack lifted his gaze from the ceiling and looked at her with pain hidden behind her brown eyes.

“Ash, you should rest at the mansion. You're too tired looking after me," Jack said to Ashley.

Ashley's weak voice broke the silence, "Jack, I can't leave you alone. What if something happens?"

Hearing the uncertainty in her voice, Jack smiled gently. "Ashley, I'll be fine. Bodyguards will look after me here. You also need to rest yourself. Go home to the mansion. I don't want to see you getting tired."
