Explosion

Suzzane stepped out of the police station door with mixed feelings. The cold night air greeted his tired face, and his steps sounded softly on the busy sidewalk. Relieved to finally be free from temporary detention, but anxious about the legal battle he will face.

The night sky lay above him like a dark blanket hugging the city. Suzzane looked around, looking for a taxi that would take her home. After what seemed like a long minute, she managed to intercept a taxi that stopped in front of her. Quickly, Suzzane got into the taxi, feeling the warmth of the soft seats.

"Get to my apartment, okay? Drive fast," said Suzzane, speaking to the taxi driver in a weak voice.

The taxi driver nodded and deftly drove his vehicle through the hustle and bustle of the city streets that never sleep. The lights of tall buildings seemed to compete to shine in the dark of night. Suzzane looked at the view from behind the window, the unspoken silence that accompanied her in the taxi.
