It Was Meant For Me

Jack was swiftly escorted by the towering figures toward the imposing giant tube looming before him. His heart pounded in his chest as he realized the fate that awaited him inside that monstrous contraption. Once he was in there, there would be no turning back, no escape from the clutches of The Golden Apple.

As he was being led closer, Jack's mind raced with thoughts of Jill might be in confusion right now, because Jack’s tracking devices hadn't been adequately prepared when he was brought to The Golden Apple's headquarters. The ease with which the enemy had discovered and disposed of them during the journey wasn't part of the plan. But Jack had to act fast.

"System, I'm exchanging all my remaining points for combat, defense, and agility abilities!" Jack exclaimed urgently, his voice barely audible amidst the chaos.

The System responded promptly, its words appearing in Jack's mind.
