Chapter One Hundred And Sixty Four

“Roberts, you never told us how it went on your end.” Lewis said as he popped open another bottle of red wine, poured into his glass and brought it to his lips.

“What are you talking about?”

“How did the project with Jessica pan out? Was it completed successfully?” Smith asked, irritated at how slow Roberts was being.

“Oh, that?” He said flippantly as he swirled the wine in his glass.

“The assassin carried out the job without a hitch. He told me that he stabbed her more than 5 times and left her to bleed out in a dark alley. She was taking her last breaths when he left and there was no one in sight to help her so now, we have nothing to worry about because our tracks are clear.”

Smith smiled and raised his glass, inviting the other men seated around him to a toast. They celebrated Jessica’s death. Her death meant that there was no one who could point fingers at them especially with Turner one step away from the grave.
