"Ryan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Belinda screamed, slamming the door in a rush to meet Ryan. He was lying flat on the floor with blood flowing out of his mouth like he was slobbering.

Belinda desperately shook Ryan, pleading for him to wake."Ryan, wake up, wake up. What happened to you? Why are you bleeding?" Her voice trembled with fear.

"Ma’am, you can stop it. He isn't going to wake up." Belinda looked up with a frightened face and tears acting as a cast to her daring eyes. The somber voice shattered her hope. Belinda’s eyes, filled with daring determination moments ago, were now cast in tears, fear etched across her face.

"He isn't dead. His heart isn't beating the way it does on a normal day; can't you save him?" Her eyes were filled with emotions, crowding each and every angle.

"He isn't dead yet, but we would need you to evacuate the theater for the betterment of his health," the doctor told her, carrying Ryan onto another bed before chasing Belinda out of the theater.

"Save him, please!

Lucian turned deaf ears to Belinda’s please. Blood could be seen finding its way to every corner of the reception. It was coming out of a figure; a male figure, he was grunting, panting, and letting out cries of pain."Why, why, why?” She sang. “Why did you have to have to do it, Lucian? Why?" Belinda's eyes were filled with tears, clouding her vision."I don't know." His voice trembling, his hands shaking as he threw the knife away. Lucian's eyes flickered with pain as he fell off Ryan's body with blood flowing out of his abdomen. A knife was present in his abdomen, cutting his body whole and out."What? Hey! What just happened?" Ryan asked, standing up to meet Lucian."Didn't you see what happened?" Belinda's eye threw Ryan away. "I closed my eyes, thinking I was going to get stabbed, so I definitely didn't see a thing.""While you were busy closing your damn eyes, he stabbed himself." She barked. “What? Doesn’t sound sane to me, if you ask me.” Ryan rolled his eyes. “Fortunate

Ryan’s hands were on his chest beating back and forth in fright. He grasped in an attempt to stop his aching heart from escaping. The letters were written as boldly as the writing on any screen. He was filled with fear, his adrenaline rising to the top, his heart continuously beating, and moving in harmony with every tick of time. His eyes were dilating, trying to capture the words perfectly in his head."Draco, what does this message mean?" He blinked repeatedly, his eyes still glued to the screen in front of him. "It's very simple. It means you are going to be rich soon." "How does death relate to wealth?""You will be dying of wealth. That's just it, Ryan.""Does that make sense to you?” Ryan shook his head. “Doesn’t make sense, not a bit.” He swallowed hard before continuing, “But it says I will be dying soon. How does that relate?""You would be dying of wealth. I repeat. And that's all.""Okay, even though I will be dying of wealth, how did I complete the tasks?""You saved

Ryan’s eyes could not leave the gift box spitting out notes of dollars. Turning back to Draco, a smile tugged at the corner of Ryan’s mouth, a silent acknowledgment passing between them after their recent exchange of blows, blood still trickling from Draco’s mouth."What- what- how is this?" his voice was impervious, pointing at the box displaying bundles of dollars. "It's just one of those gifts you get after completing the missions in games and all that. You understand what I mean.""It’s surreal. I mean, it’s unbelievable.” He coveted his mouth with his hands. “No one even me would believe this amount of money was going to be in that box. I knew my task reward, I don’t know what I was expecting, maybe not in this manner.” His voice sounded really surprised. "How would you know?” He chuckled. “…when all you do is run away from the one itself, thinking it was one smooth criminal machine in horror movies?""You can't blame that on me, Draco. You attacked me and tried to force me to

In the operating room, a tense silence enveloped Ryan and Draco as they sought answers in each other’s eyes. The atmosphere, though awkward, held an unusual calm, given the gravity of their task—a surgery to fight cancer."The blood flare technique was the only technique I had learned from my father. It was a technique with a variety of dangers but the only method to cure cancer from my knowledge." Ryan scoffed, he continued, disdain evident in his voice, explaining the blood flare technique inherited from his father. The lady could be heard wailing outside the theater. Ryan couldn't keep it in; he felt quite bad for this lady in question. Unable to ignore the external turmoil, Ryan’s sympathy surfaced. His gaze shifted to the woman on the table, her hands extended, stained with the ominous black blood. It wasn't going to be easy to cure the woman's cancer after all; it was a Stage IV cancer Leukaemia. "Are you going to stand there and watch me while this old woman dies, or would

"How was your meeting with him?" Lewis asked the moment he walked into the house without an invitation. Turner stared at him in confusion. He had not ushered him into his house. So, what guts? He thought. It wasn't up to a few minutes ago when he got back from where he had gone to. And just as he was about to lock up his gate, he saw Lewis drive in immediately. Now, he was already inside his house. He began to wonder if Lewis had began to keep tabs on him. "How did you know I was back home? You could have called. Or, have you suddenly started keeping tabs on me?" Turner asked as he walked towards him. Lewis had already gotten himself a perfect spot to sit in the living room, not minding the questions. "Are you really going to ask that?" He scoffed. "Come on man. I possibly can't keep tabs on you. I just happen to know your movements." Turner moved to sit across from him. His eyes held suspicion. He didn't like the idea that Lewis had visited him alone in his house. And that was

Ryan was seated on his bed as he reminsced over his meeting with Rebecca. As he thought about their meeting, the only thing that could replay in his head was her smile which he deemed beautiful and captivating. He could still remember how happy and grateful she had been when he was able to save her mother, despite the bad news they got after the first operation. Fear had literally gripped him when he heard she was no longer stable. "Rise and shine Man - R." Draco's loud voice boomed in his head. "Ahh." He shook and sat up immediately. "Woah. What is it? Why are you so jumpy?" Draco asked amidst his laughter. "Didn't you realize that you were so loud? Why did you have to be so loud by the way? Remember you're in my head most times, so you don't get to give me a heart attack." Ryan said and got down from his bed. Draco let out a loud laughter after he heard what Ryan had said. "Yeah, laugh all you want." Ryan said and made his way to the window. He quickly opened his curtains, an

“Greetings.” One of the students who passed by the school greeted me with a bow. Ryan who had been staring at the completed and now functional school building tore his eyes away from it and responded to the student who was already several steps ahead. He looked around to realize that sometime during his gazing, the students had let out for their lunch break. From where he was standing, he could see that some were milling around in the garden and having lunch while some preferred to make use of the outdoor café. He knew and was quite aware that others would be scattered around the indoor cafeteria and different lounges at the different corners of the school. He had decided it was best the students had a wide variety of places to choose from to have lunch. Experience they say is the best teacher, from experience he knew quite well how it felt to suffer through humiliation in the cafeteria and even worse not to have anywhere else to go. This even sponsored his reasons and gladness to

Was it completed successfully?” Smith asked, irritated at how slow Roberts was being.“Oh, that?” He said flippantly as he swirled the wine in his glass.“The assassin carried out the job without a hitch. He told me that he stabbed her more than 5 times and left her to bleed out in a dark alley. She was taking her last breaths when he left and there was no one in sight to help her so now, we have nothing to worry about because our tracks are clear.”Smith smiled and raised his glass, inviting the other men seated around him to a toast. They celebrated Jessica’s death. Her death meant that there was no one who could point fingers at them especially with Turner one step away from the grave.“Soon, there will be no more obstacles in my way and I will have my

“Remember that we have to remain calm no matter what he says or does.” Evans said to Ryan as they walked towards the place where they had kept Monroe all the while because he knew Ryan had the propensity to be erratic sometimes.“I know that.” Ryan nodded“Okay, good.”They got to the room and without any hesitation or stopping to think about the decision they had arrived at concerning their hostage, Ryan turned the doorknob to reveal the inside of the room. There, Monroe was, strapped to a bed; his mouth duct taped so he didn’t make a sound and alert anyone. Not like there was a single living soul that could be found for miles but still, it was better to be safe than sorry.“Hello, Monroe. Ryan walked into the hotel where he was meeting Smith and went straight to the receptionist who was all smiles.“Good morning.” He greeted her before letting her know that he was supposed to be meeting with Mr. Smith and wanted directions to the private meeting room Smith had asked to be met at. It was a new upscale hotel that was the rave of town. It was no surprise that Smith had chosen the hotel for them to meet because it was a neutral ground as neither of them had shares in the hotel though there were rumors that Smith planned to acquire it. After all, he liked the way it was growing rapidly. “The maître d’hôtel will be here to escort you shortly. I will just place a call to him now.” The receptionist said after confirming his identity and checking that indeed Smith had reserved the private meeting room.Ryan nodded and took a seat in the lounge as she asked. He was not seated for long before the maitre d’hôtel appeared to take him to the meeting room. He stood up and after adj

He plowed straight into the shower in his room and proceeded to have his bath.He had just finished the first task he was given, which was to give out 100 million dollars to a hundred beggars in 3 hours and he was extremely tired, who wouldn’t? It had been a hell of a day and he wanted his bed badly. He quickly sent a text to the chef to send his dinner up because he didn’t have the strength to trudge downstairs. He laid on his bed covers, still tying his towel. He knew that if he got under the covers, he would be asleep faster than a light went out.Suddenly, his phone rang. He stretched his hand out on the bed and picked it up, his eyes squinting to see who it was and he was excited to see that it was Rebecca calling. He sat up in his bed and leaned on the headboard, his finger about to slide up to answer it when he stopped. He remembered the mann

“What exactly are you saying to me? I don’t understand all the medical terms you just mentioned.” Jessica said as she looked at the doctor from her seat at her mother’s side. The doctor blinked at her slowly.“Let’s have this conversation outside, please.” His voice was almost a whisper as he directed her outside the room her mother was lying in and then began to explain what he had said earlier in clearer terms.“What I am telling you is that your mother has no chance of living anymore. From her prognosis, she has at best, a few days to live. I’m sorry!”Jessica was shocked and she gaped at him for a while before she got her words back.“No, no, no!”“I’m sorry.” The doctor apologized as he shook his head.“No, doctor, there has to be something that you can do. My mother can’t just die like that. You can’t just abandon my mother like that.”“I’m sorry but there’s absolutely nothing more we can do for you.
