Carson was disappointed when he got the response from James. It was nothing of the nature that he wanted to hear. All he wanted to hear at that moment was the location of Karen.

Having spent a long time with Karen, he knew that she had a percentage of strong-headedness.

Before he left for the conversation he had had with James he had spoken to Karen About how he wanted to invite his brother as a part of the mission 3finding Wilson and taking revenge on him.

Contrary to his opinion, Karen had wanted the both of them to go alone. She had accused him of Delaying the mission too much and she threatened that she was going to leave if he delayed any longer.
