Andrew nodded, appreciating Master Alec's willingness to negotiate. "Alright, let's go through this step-by-step. I have a few suggestions that I believe will make this a more equitable arrangement for both of us."

He cleared his throat and began outlining his proposed changes,

"First, I'd like to reduce the non-compete clause to 3 years instead of 5. That gives me more time to decide if I decide to open my own academy down the line. Secondly, I think the exclusivity over any intellectual property I develop is too broad. How about we cap that at 3 years as well, after which point I can use those techniques freely?"

Master Alec stroked his chin, considering Andrew's points. "Those sound like reasonable compromises. What else did you have in mind?"

Andrew glanced back down at the contract. "Well, the 10% equity stake is a good start, but I'd like to increase that to 15% with time, If I get better."
