Chapter 4- Sleeping with the CEO

“You know what? I am going to drive,” Cephas smiled at his sister. She threw the key to the Lamborghini to him.

He caught it swifty got into the driver’s seat, his sister was the passenger princess for the ride..

“I thought you said you didn’t know how to drive,” Violet asked, yelling on top of her voice. She walked down the stairs in a rush while Kade followed her closely so she wouldn't fall off and hurt herself.

Cephas ignored her, igniting the engine of the car. The car roared, sending waves of shock to Kade and Violet. They didn’t expect the reaction from the car.

He laughed at the effect the car’s engine had on them and he zoomed off.

“Ceph,” Sarah started. “Was that your wife? The one you married against dads wish?”

“I’m afraid, yes,” he responded coldly as his hand tightened on the wheel of the car.

“Was she worth the exile moment father gave to you?” She asked him.

Sarah adored her brother and so did their father. Their lives were going on smoothly till Cephas refused the bride his dad and stepmom arranged from him.

He insisted that he had someone in mind, their dad stripped him out of his office position and froze all his bank cards.

Later in his marriage with Violet, she was demanding so many gifts that he could not even afford to with his job.

His father had blocked his means of getting a proper job to teach him a lesson. He was too stubborn to go and beg his father plus he didn’t want to let violet go.

At last, she left him for a richer person. “I don’t regret my actions. Love was a beautiful thing to fight for and it was good to see father get angry because I wasn’t doing his wishes.” He focused on driving, waiting for what she was going to say.

“You broke his ego by not contacting him for three years. It really hurt his feelings. He gave everyone silent treatment since then,”

“Stop exaggerating,”

“I am not, he only spoke to me a few days ago and it was about you. He wants you to start working at the company with immediate effect. We should head to the Walter Corporations right now.”

She bought a file from the backseat.

“He had told the company to expect you today, they are waiting for you.”

“I want to drop my resignation letter to my former workplace, they have to realize whom they have been looking down on.”

“Is that necessary? I can have your new secretary send in your resignation and get your stuff”

“Yes it is. I will do it myself. They need to see that I am no ordinary person.”

Sarah sighed, “if you insist, let’s do that and get to the office quickly before Father gets mad at you again.”

“Sure,” he hit the gas and drove fast to his former workplace. He parked the car outside and asked his sister to wait for him in the car while he got his things insist.e

“Here comes the part time delivery boy,” A familiar voice said in a mocking tone, it wasn’t possible that someone else spoke that way. He knew it was his wife’s friend, Grey.

Though they worked at the same place, he was his boss but he gets criticized by Grey like he works in another company.

It didn’t surprise him. Violet's friends had little or no regard for him.

“I am curious, Cephas,” Grey walked close to him, "Do your parents know what you do for a living?” He asked but Cephas ignored him and just packed his things into a box.

“How do you feed them and take care of them with your little pay? Do you have other jobs too? Or Violet helps you to give them money?”

“Unlike you my parents don’t need to collect my money because they have crazy ass money,” Cephas said in his head.

He bottled up those words, because he knew Grey would continue to mock him or question him for proof and he didn’t have the energy for that right now.

“You are not going to say anything?” Grey asked again. “Being stubborn again, huh? Your parents bear a lot trying to tolerate you. If you have a sister, let her marry some old rich man so your family can get out of poverty.”

“Mr Grey, Kindly complete your tasks and submit them to my table. I hope your nonchalant behavior towards your work won’t cause me to terminate your contract,” Ms Williams walked in. “And you, Cephas, see me in my office,”

She was a head executive at the company. One of the nicest people Cephas had come in contact with, she knew how hard he struggled and worked hard because of Violet.

Ms Willams was the only that saw and appreciated his efforts, his customer services, the sales he made, the people that keep patronizing the cake company after he delivers to them for the first time And how he handled all their difficult customers.

She was nice to him, she gave him every tip customers send to the company for him unlike other senior executives that kept it for themselves. Sometimes she buys cakes for him to give to his wife.

There were times he stayed back to help Ms Willaams out at the office so she was pretty much informed about him. She was a good woman, unlike the other people he had never mocked Cephas or looked down on him because he had no money.

She was always encouraging him, on the days sales were not good enough to make his daily wages fat, she gave him some money.

There was a time that he fell ill from taking multiple 24-hour shifts consecutively, she was the only one that knew and she bought him drugs from the pharmacy then she prohibited him from doing 24-hour shifts. He walked into her office.

Asides her good deed, Ms Willams was a very beautiful lady, he loved the way she smiled, it brightened his days up whenever Violet nagged him for being so broke.

He entered her office, she seemed to be reading some papers on her desk with her pair of glasses sitting on her nose bridge. Its rims suited her face perfectly.

She noticed his presence in the office, “c’mon, Cephas. Come sit please , don't act like a stranger.”

“Thank you.”

He helped himself into a chair. He loved that she was humble at all times. Her office landline rang and she picked it.

“Hello Mr Smith,”

Her thin, sexy and soft voice said into the telephone. Cephas imagined how he would feel if she spoke to him like that over the phone.

“Ms Williams. Good afternoon. I am calling to tell you that I won’t be signing that contract with your company.”

Distress popped on her face on hearing that.

“Why not, Mr smith? We had finalized the whole deal yesterday. Why are you changing your mind now?”

“Ms Williams the world doesn’t work that way, we need to pay a price for what we get.”

“A price? But we will offer you our best service.”

“You have various competition that can also offer us the best, I can go to them if I want,”

Please don’t do that, Mr smith. I understand what you want. We’d try to raise some funds for you.”

“Funds? You think I’m hungry?” Mr Smith barked into the phone scaring her.

Her hands shook in fear but she managed to remain composed.

“What do you want? Name it, you will get. You are a very beautiful woman with a nice body shape. Come see me at KILLBILL hotel. If you cannot come, Provide the 100 million dollars I invested into your company.” he hung before she could respond to him.

She slammed the phone on her table.
