The Architect of Life

When Taylor got home from the golf course that evening, he noticed Robert McGills sitting in the living room by himself, thinking. Taylor initially merely greeted him casually, saying, "Dad, I'm home!"

Robert McGill glanced up and gave a languid nod.

Taylor realized right away that something wasn't right. Robert usually wasn't this sluggish when he saw Taylor heading back home.

Taylor placed down a large plastic bag stuffed with a variety of goodies and inquired, "Dad, are you okay?"

When Taylor got home, he tended buying a wide variety of foods. Today's menu featured sushi and other Japanese fare, such as udon, which his father, Robert, adored.

"Dad, aren't you interested in sushi and udon?" Taylor made a persuasive inquiry.

Robert, though, merely forced a phony grin. I'm not hungry at the moment. "I'll consume it within a minute," appearing listless.
