Blackwolf Base camp, Mt. Elberus
Lance, Luke, and Kate were having their breakfast in the 2nd bunker pantry. They all had their hot coffee, sandwich bread, and sunny side-ups. They talked very softly, almost close to a whisper. Lance had gooseflesh since last night. He had questions now about the life he had chosen over his wife, the life outside military service. Now, it seemed that corruption and hidden agendas, good or bad, still crept in the very nation he served.
There was a space of hesitation between them, to what had transpired, which could be a conspiracy that would lead to treason, court marshaled, or even to their deaths. This was Covert Ops. A lot of confidential missions were hidden amongst the agents.
‘This should be normal. I hope. I hope I have chosen the right path.’ Lance thought.
"It was Doctor Kris Kurisawa,” Kate finally spoke but to a very low volume. “A globally known Geneticists, Biotechnologists and Advanced M
Underground lab, Blackwolf Base campA petite young scientist, wearing a white long lab gown, with hand gloves and her eyes were protected by a transparent visor, was looking on her microscope excited of cellular fission progress she had worked on for a couple of months. She was in her early 30's and she was one of the brightest in Astron University of Science. She graduated with flying honors and took up Chemistry, Biology, and a Ph.D. in Advanced Microbiology. The whirring sound of airconditioning evaporators, the soft vibrations of machinery, and the bright lightings constricted in one room had been Dr. Ela’s playground for months. She had been buried for work, for a great purpose she supposed, had driven her to be secluded from the outside world. Her breathing was steady. Her right-hand fingers had found efficiently to the control buttons of the microscope to adjust its resolution, zooming in and zooming out. Her heart was excited, thu
Consolacion Village, Mt. ElberusThe moon was on its highest peak, and the breeze was so cold. The Forest was immersed by the darkness of the skies and only the burning torches were visible from afar that illuminated a fraction of Consolacion village. Agent Rick Thorn was summoned again by the Chief on the same hut but this time, Agent Mark Young, in his early '40s with rough features in his face, was also with him. They were fed well by the Chief with a sumptuous meal. Lyka and Maria were not in the hut but only Lyka's brother, Raegor Eldar. He was a Tier 2 Rakasha like his sister Lyka and his mother. He was the lead hunter of Consolacion Village.Raegor was not so tall like his father Vaegon, and not so bulky in body frame. He was Lyka's younger brother, his features would tell that he was in his late twenties. His face was plastered with deception and death. He didn't talk much, by just looking on his face will tell you everything about him - a gutl
Consolacion Village territory, Mt. ElberusHe heard a dog's growl from a distance in front of him. A jolt of gooseflesh crawled up his spine and he boosted from the ground. He stood while he aimed his weapon in front. His rifle kissed his cheeks and his eyes focused on his rifle sights and towards the vastness of the clearing where the sound loomed.“Come out! Whatever you are, I will fight you!” Rick screamed. They were not humans, he assumed.A silhouette of a man and beside him was a large dog about 100-meters away from Mark emerged from the blanket of darkness. The moon shyly illuminated the area. He heard the man laughed devilishly while his dog was growling.‘Fuck, it's them! It's Raegor. How the hell did he find me? Calm yourself. Think! Think!’ Mark could not think clearly. He forced the thought and still battling with the possibility that these beings possessed inhuman capabilities. The dog started
Blackwolf Base camp, Mt. ElberusSince the circulated information between his two trusted Agents, he had always found himself staring blankly at a wall or the ceiling of his room. His eyes trained to unnecessary imperfections of the facility's metal work and the smooth moldings of solid metal as their walls. The lights seemed to illuminate brighter every time he stared at it. It was disturbing for him. His bed, a not-so-deep cushion, had become one of his comfort furniture that he could rely on when he was going to battle himself with the doubts about choosing the military life once again and between leaving his wife in pain.“What are you doing, Lance.” He said to himself. He was not facing rebels anymore, they would be facing unmatched and unchartered enemies that the possibility of winning was thin or uncalculated. But deep in his blood, he could sense that what they were doing was right. A misplaced calling to arms, the necessity
Tribal Territorial Grounds, Mt. ElberusLance and Kate settled on a large outcropping behind a large, thick tree. Luke sauntered forward towards the Acacia tree that had been the place where their first meeting. Kate had her binoculars and Lance held the AWM50, mounted on the outcropping and his right eye buried to the scope. The tingling feeling rose up to his shoulder where the rifle’s stock rests. His trigger finger jittered in excitement and he practiced his breathing steadily.“Luke. Be careful out there.” He said through the earbuds as Luke was now distant. Lance’s vision now struggled for a clear sight for his friend could be in imminent danger.“Do not worry much. You’ll get wrinkly.” Luke responded as he continued his direction.“Shut up, you love birds,” Kate interjected. “All clear from here, Luke. Are you sure she is going to show up?”“That, I am not s
A sudden raucous had loomed from Lance’s and Kate’s position. They saw from afar that Lyka had fought the Blackwolf SRS squads that tried to apprehend them. Two of them went flying with a swipe of Lyka’s arm. She moved faster than normal humans do, evading the tranqs that the squads used. But they were surrounded and outnumbered. She jumped to the nearest Agent and intertwined her arms to his, deflecting the tranq gun from his hands and snapping the bones that were like twigs. The agent screamed in utter pain and then she delivered a blow to his face, he was knocked down. Even with the head protection he wore, he was cold unconscious. The second agent was able to land a shot at her back. But only one. The succeeding shots of tranqs all flew right past her as she rolled, quickly grabbing the agent by his left knee. She locked it up with her both hands, throwing down the Agent easily and slamming his body to the floor. The other Agents ceased firing to avoid h
Commander's Office, Base camp, Mt. ElberusEqually spaced pen lights shone above the hardwood ceiling that comprised the Blackwolf Commander’s office. The yellow dim lights provided a soothing comfort, perfect for the taste of a veteran soldier like James Johnson. He enjoyed his Cuban cigar as he slouched on his office chair and playfully fingered the wafting smoke with his fingers. He rocked his chair back, his feet stretched below the desk. His head craned upwards looking at the expensive wooden ceiling.A wolf’s head was carved using a mahogany tree that hung majestically on the right side wall where all his achievements were gloriously placed on a glass panel cabinet. He frequently looked at them with utter glory and honor. But now, all he saw was a mockery of his service or patriotism. To a person what he had become, was beyond the dreams of a dedicated soldier. Corruption had filled his mind and disputes had loomed on his imaginations
Ken stood in front of the three agents who sat across the table. The three of them have either a surprised look or a hint of betrayal.“How?” Kate struck a question to Ken. Her stare was the look of the well-known beautiful but lethal female Head of Recon Team and Ken had but a friendly face. He held a mischievous grin."We followed you. We had a hint during that night when the three of you were gone in your quarters. Our quarter guards reported to us. I relayed the report to Commander James of course as good agents do.”"Did you know from the start?!" Kate shouted. Agent Ken just smiled and said calmly, "Before this base was constructed, I and a few others surveyed these tribes and we found something inhuman in the villagers. They could transform into monsters. For a few weeks of monitoring, we found a whistleblower from the nearest tribe who gave the information willingly to us that people in the hidden village or the Consolacion village were
