Lt. Lance's training for three weeks gave a lot of muscle pain and body aches. The training was a bit overwhelming but it was fulfilling. He had never felt alive again after his last military deployment. He could feel his life streaming along his veins and awakening his inner self. His true self, the one who laid dormant while living outside the force.

He was given 2 days' pause and rest to recuperate and heal his bruises. At 0400 H, Lance woke up from his bed and decided to jog around the compound to start his day, he went outside the quarters and out from the bunker wearing his jog suit and started brisk walking around the compound. He felt discomfort in every inch of his body and a jolt of pain every time he exerted effort.

The compound was quiet with only a few night shift guards doing their rounds and on their respective guard towers. There was a lot of light inside the compound but there were a lot of dark corners.
