Simon Clarence jumped on his feet. He tried to balance his frame on his weak legs, but he was too weak to hold that position. He wanted to sit back down, but his wet pants were becoming all sticky. So, he couldn't do either. He decided to lean against the chair as though he was sitting and standing at the same time.

"My eyes can't be playing tricks on me." He muttered repeatedly as he tried to draw an inference. He didn't want to be too jumpy, yet he didn't want to take this lightly.

"Is this really Lord Theo? This is Lord Theo!" While he was asking the question, he was also trying to find an answer for it.

He didn't know which to do.

Why would Lord Theo call me? What have I done? Does Lord Theo have my number? I have been sending him emails all these while. Did he read my emails? Before I walked into this office, I asked Devin to check the mail again for the one millionth time. Yet it was not read. How come Lord Theo is calling me right now?

So many questions were flying around i

There were a couple of people gathered around. Harry had his phone pressed to his ear. He was in tears. There were tracks of tears lining both sides of his face. He was looking at the front, yet he wasn't looking. Anna and Cory were standing right in front of him. There were a couple of students surrounding them. These students want to get to the root of everything. They wanted to see where all of these would end. Harry started to shake his head. He looked so pale and weak. Shieley was right behind him, crying her eyes out, too. Well, a few minutes ago. After Cory and Anna had left the store. After Lord Theo had had a FaceTime with all of them, and Harry had run after the couple, Harry had asked them to wait. Cory didn't want to wait in the first place. He didn't think he had any business with Harry anymore. He had sorted everything and had brought an everlasting shame on Harry. There was no need to give a death blow and bring fatality to the situation. But Anna had insisted that

  • The Impervious Courier   Chapter 111

Simon Clarence had just arrived at the location that Lord Theo had sent to him. He was yet to wind down the window of the car. This was where the map had led him to. He was shaking in his seat. His legs were still very much weak. "You should get off here, sir. This is how far I can go." An elderly man who was behind the wheels said. Clarence took a glance at the man. It was the cab driver that brought him here. There was something to be careful about regarding what the man had just said. He didn't know what it was yet, so he needed to get down first. He paid and climbed down. When he climbed out of the car, he realised that he was standing by the roadside. He was about to walk to the other side so that he could talk to the driver about this location. But before he could even make the turn, the cab had driven off. "Hey!!!" Simon was on top of his voice, but the driver didn't wait. Simon was confused as his gaze lingered on the cab that drifted away. There were a couple of things

"Do you feel pity for her?" Anna decided to break the silence. She had been looking at him every now and then and not saying anything yet. But now, she couldn't hold back the need to ask a question. The urgency was impending and very compelling. Cory shifted his gaze from the other side of the moving car to look at her. When he gazed at her, he noticed that there was desperation in her eyes. It would seem as though she couldn't wait to hear what he had to say. He could see that she wanted his approval so badly. She must love him so much. He would be a fool if he pretended not to know that. "Do you think I should?" Cory teased, throwing back the question at her. When the question hit her, her brows furrowed. She was quick to be angered. She wasn't quite far from her father when it comes to emotions like that. After all, they were cut from the same cloth. "What are you doing? You can't answer a question with another one." Anna was not willing to let him win this argument. Cory's

They both climbed out of the car. When they climbed out, Cory was still trying to fix his phone in his pocket and didn't realise where he was yet. When he was done tucking the phone away, he lifted his gaze to look at the building. When he looked, his eyes widened. He had been seeing a lot of beautiful places, but he could swear on his life that he had never seen anything as beautiful as this. He wished he could gasp, but the shock and surprise were too much for him to regulate the emotions rippling in his head. He just stood there, staring groundless. "Welcome to Eagleville Floating Tower." Anna said to him. Cory looked away from the magnificent building to Anna. It was hard to tell what was going through his mind. It was obviously not an idle thought. Cory started to play a lot of thoughts in his head. He has heard about this Tower. He had always wished that one day he would visit there. And now he was standing right in front of it. But that wasn't really his wonder at this mo

  • The Impervious Courier   Chapter 114

Cory and Anna were in something that looked like a cart. The cart had the wheels of a slider. They were standing in it, and the cart was moving automatically along an aisle made out of sea of glasses. The Outdoor Waiter had run into the building but could not find them. When he lifted his gaze, he saw them leaving. The other guy walked to him from behind and patted him on the back."Let it go. They are out of reach now." The guy urged. The man eyes were red, and he was on the verge of crying. He just couldn't begin to imagine the possibility of things that could happen to him. He didn't want to think about it, yet he couldn't get it off his mind. The Eagleville Floating Tower had a lot of rules. It had to, because of the nature of their business and also because of the kind of clients they receive. No one would receive clients that weren't only wealthy but also an elite. No one would receive such people and not be very particular and tight in the order of business. Every worker

  • The Impervious Courier   Chapter 115

Cory stopped as soon as soon as he walked through the door. For the first time, he saw a setting he was familiar with. Although the interior was breathtaking and beyond words, and the arrangements of the chairs were well thought out, yet it was a typical modern set-up for a restaurant. He was impressed by the smell that greeted him. Everything about this space screamed opulence. It was more and more of a mirage of realism. He was knocked out of the thoughts when figures stood next to him. When he looked, they were Anna and Jared. Oh, right, there was a reason he had come here. He had been distracted. He lifted his gaze to see where the noise was coming from and who was making a fuss. As soon as he looked, a roar greeted him. "What kind of madness is this?! Am I a joke to all of you? Do you really know who I am?" A middle-aged man who looked obviously rich, dressed in plain materials yelled. Cory couldn't help but shake his head. Why must there be people like these everywhere? He

Stomp! Off Cory went from where he was standing. In the blink of an eye, he was now standing behind the lady who had just been slapped by the angry man. The lady who was about to fall to the ground, given by the daze of the slap, was shocked that something was holding her from fallen. Cory steadied the lady, making sure that she didn't break her legs; the manner at which she had rolled to the side by the impact of the slap, if Cory hadn't come to her aid, she would had broken at least one of the ankles. And that would have been quite chaotic for a pretty lady like her. Anna gasped when she realized that Cory was no longer beside her. When she looked up, she saw him about several steps away from her. "Huh? How?" She didn't know what to think. Her pulpils were running all over the sockets. Jared, the manager, was also stunned speechless by what Cory had just done. He saw it too, but he couldn't explain what he had seen. This is a modern world. Who would believe that a man like them

  • The Impervious Courier   Chapter 117

Norman Havill was stunned speechless by what Cory had just said. He had been in this box for a while now, and no one had openly talked rudely to him. Even the waitress who seemed to be sounding bold was shut up by the wave of slap. But this strange lad had just addressed him as though he was some roadside clown. Havill knew that he would let this go just like that. He was someone who was big on ego. He wouldn't let this pass. He definitely would not let his ego be hurt by this random youth. "Hey!!" He bellowed at Cory. Cory didn't want to stop. He did not. There was no point indulging the man. He knew that the man must be angered. If he was to pay attention to the man's call and wait, then he would be ending up inconveniencing the rest of the clients. He wouldn't want to do that to them. Wasn't that why he had decided to change his mind and told Anna they would cancel their order to book the place? After all, this building belonged to him. The whole of the floating tower was his.

Anna could not understand what was happening. She had stepped to the front, away from Cory, to look closely at the man walking towards her. How could this be her father? She was about to lose her mind. At this point, she had no idea how she was still able to hold up her peace and not go nuts. This was just enough to make her question her sanity. "What's happening? How could this be ---" Anna turned to the back to ask Cory. She suddenly choked on the words. Turning around, Cory was nowhere to be found. It would seem as though he had vanished into thin air. She quickly rushed back into the hut to look for him but she couldn't find him. She ran outside again. She didn't know what to make of all these that were happening to her. She really did wish that she would have an explanation for it. "Did you see him walk out just now?" Anna asked her father, who had stopped walking right in front of the door of the hut. Lord Theo shook his head softly, taking a deep breath. The man slowly p

Anna choked so hard on her breath that she almost passed out. She had no idea what was happening or what had just happened. She couldn't wrap her head around it, let alone make a meaning of it. But it was real. She could see it right in front of her. There was someone who had just been sliced into several pieces. "Father..." She was having trouble rolling those words over. She couldn't even move closer to the corpse. The head was still hanging in the air. Thud! The head and neck dropped on the floor. She flinched, almost sprouting some unknown wings. She should move forward and touch the corpse. She should fall on the pieces of her father and weep her eyes out, but she couldn't. This was just way too much for her to process. She was trying to understand how this was possible in the whole wide world. How could it ever be possible? She could recall openly that she had left her father back at the mansion. The old man couldn't even move an inch, let alone get to her. She could see

  • Chapter 264

Anna was lost in the moment and couldn't place her own emotions, not even after she had climbed into the car. It was a cab, and Cory had just hailed at the cab. What had just happened in the building was still very much fresh in her mind. There was no way she was going to throw that away or be distracted from it. She took a glance at the corner of Cory's face. Then, the glance intensified, graduating into a keen gaze. Cory, on the other hand, was staring at the front. It would seem as though she was not even there. "Are you not going to explain it to me?" She asked him eventually. Cory still would not look at her. She didn't want to act as though this meant nothing to her. She hated the fact that Cory was ignoring her. She knew that she could not force the words out of his mouth. He had to be willing, else her worries and questions would forever remain unattended to. The manner at which Cory was staring, Anna could deduce that there was something else on his mind. Although they

Cory hesitated at the door and then turned to look at her again. When their gazes met, he saw a whole la

  • Chapter 261

Lord Theo, who was already exhausted from the errands and worries affiliated with the plot they were carrying out, raised his head slowly to look at his daughter, who was fired up by what she was saying. "What are you talking about, Anna? Please go back to bed. You need it." The man dismissed causally as though he had expected her to be up by now. At this point, Anna really didn't know what to feel. She wished that she would be able to choose her feelings, but she couldn't. There was a great measure of disappointment in what she was feeling at that moment. And there was something else, too. Something which she couldn't really reach. She wanted to sigh, but because she was huffing and puffing, she was even having a hard time catching her breath. "Answer my question, father." Her voice became even louder this time. She was trying to make it obvious to him that she wasn't here to joke around. She was here to talk about and review what was bothering her the most. It would be a great

  • Chapter 260

Anna's eyes slowly opened. When her eyes opened, she felt fatigue, a pool of fatigue washing all over her body. She shut her eyes again to be certain what the problem could be. She slowly opened her eyes again, confiding in the act of precision and timing. Yet the feeling lingered. The fatigued remained. If there was anything, it even became heavier. She tried to roll in bed to the other side, but she felt extremely weak. She had no idea what was happening to her. Rolling on her stomach, she tried to heave her body to a comfortable position, but nothing seemed to work for her. She fell back on her face in bed and started to grunt. "What the hell is happening to me?" She muttered, seeking to understand what the problem might be. The moment when she rolled from one end of the bed to the other, things were beginning to ease gradually. The fatigue and weariness were beginning to wear off. This time, her mind was clearing out gradually. There was a room in her mind to house as many w

"We must go right away." One of the senators stood up and was headed towards the door. "I'm sorry we can't." The doctor suddenly stepped into the way of the senator. The senator looked so offended and pissed out of his mind. He was staring at the doctor as though the doctor was a piece of garbage who ought not to stand in his presence, let alone lift his gaze to look at him. He scoffed and turned to look at the rest of the senators behind him. "What the hell is wrong with these minions? Is it really our fault that we have indulged them and made them feel so comfortable in our midst?" The senator sounded very judgemental as he rolled those words out. He really didn't care that the doctor could hear him. The senators didn't care about anything at all. They don't care about other people other than themselves. As long as things are going their way, they wouldn't care less to do whatever they thought to be okay. "Now, move out of my way before I rip you into shreds!" The senator thre

  • Chapter 258

Linda and her father were as still as a hill. They couldn't even make a sound. They couldn't see each other. Talking about seeing, Linda's eyes were drooping over her breasts at this point. It seemed as though the poison continued to lower the thread of the eyes down and down until perhaps it would get to the soles of her legs. This really didn't matter to her yet because the room was too dark for either of them to see each other. Before they were looked inside this room by the two hefty henchmen, they had seen clearly that it was super bright outside. It was noon. How come when they were locked in here, it was extremely dark? They had not been taken to an underground location. In fact, the underground location they had just come from was well lit and brighter than this. Although she couldn't use her eyes well, Linda could still tell this much that this was a very dark room. "Why is it so dark in here?" She asked her father, looking in the only direction she could afford. Down.
