Elaine felt glued to the spot. She was just trying to escape. She wanted to use the parley going on between Cory and the manager to her advantage, but it seemed as though luck was far from her.

She was worried that Cory would take this seriously. She turned around to look at him. There was a fake smile on her face. She didn't want him to see through her worries.

"What are you saying? Don't tell me that you took what I said seriously." Elaine scoffed, wearing an indifferent face.

Cory just stared at her for a while. He could see right through her.

"And why not? Why won't I take it seriously?" Cory asked.

"I mean. You should know that it was just some random talks. Nobody would take such a thing seriously." Elaine defended.

"I'm sure that everyone here will agree with me." Elaine looked away from him to the rest of the people. "Or won't you all?" She called at the people.
