Chapter 29

Anna was way too gobsmacked to react. Her fragile jaws had fallen to the floor, and she was reluctant to pick them up.

As soon as Cory had said those words, he turned to open the door. Anna quickly reached out and grabbed his arm. She stopped him from opening the door.

Cory froze in the act, unable to continue with what he was about to do. He turned slowly to look at her.

"I'm sorry." Anna said softly to him.

Her words were so soft and effective. Her tone was surreal, and her facial expression to match. She hadn't only said the words, but her blue eyes emphasized how much she meant them.

Cory sighed. He loved it when someone accepted their wrongs and apologized. He was glad that Anna broke her ego and did this.

"I shouldn't have said that to you. It was unreasonable of me." Anna added.

The driver was obviously fuming at the front seat. He knew how powerful Anna was. Why the hell would she apologize to someone like Cory? If he was left alone with a choice, he probably would be b
