Chapter 2.

Cory felt like a rock had just hit him in the head. It was as though he was hallucinating or perhaps dreaming. Is this real? If it is, then what sort of an insult is this?

He felt blood rushing through his veins. His blood was boiling.

He looked up at this strange young man called Harry. Harry was not even looking at him. Harry was smiling at his woman while he was seated!!!

Enraged and pissed to the core, Cory hit the table and jumped up on his feet.

"What the hell, bro! What are you doing?" Cory bellowed in rage.

"Can't you see that I'm with my girl here? How dare you just walk in here and disrespect my woman right in front of me?" Cory felt every reason to draw fists, but he didn't yet.

He should beat this dumb Harry to pulp for treating him so insignificantly.

Slowly, Harry looked away from Sheiley to Cory, who seemed to have been barking in his ears. With the look on Harry's face, it looked like Cory was just being a nuisance.

Though Cory was glaring at Harry, Harry didn't seem like he was bothered at all. He looked away from Cory as though the latter meant nothing.

Harry looked around and saw that all eyes were on them. Almost everyone in the restaurant were filming on their phones.

Harry grunted in displeasure seeing the attention.

"You poor peope will always be a nuisance, won't you?" Harry sneered at Cory.

"What did you just say?" Cory's eyes had turned red.

"It's awful that I have to talk to you, poor loser. But I guess there's no avoiding leeches." While Harry spoke, he fumbled through his chest pocket.

Cory just kept staring as though he was in a simulation.

Harry brought out an envelope from his chest pocket and threw it at Cory,

"That's twenty thousand. I don't want you near her ever again." Harry warned Cory sternly.

Cory jaws dropped to the floor. He felt groundless and speechless. What in the world is this kind of disrespect?!

As a courier, he has been disrespected by customers, but this type was baffling and outrageous.

While Cory was in shock, Harry turned to Sheiley.

"What do you say, gorgeous? Will you go out with me?" He repeated.

Cory was staring at Sheiley this time. He has been the one fighting for their relationship all this time. He was waiting for her to say something.

He can't be made to look so stupid in the presence of this total stranger.

"Sheiley." Cory called softly, in a subtle note of warning.

He was hoping that she would defend him.

"Before you choose an answer, please come with me. There's something I've got to show you." Harry urged Sheiley.

Bewildered by what Harry had just said, Cory glared at him. But he realised that something else was happening.

Sheiley had just gotten up on her feet.

"Babe. You are not going with him, are you?" Cory asked, hoping that this was not true.

"I will just check, Cory. It's harmless." Sheiley replied.

As she replied, she followed Harry.

"Sheiley!!!" Cory called in bewilderment, his heart sinking.

"Come on, Cory. It's not a big deal." Sheiley answered as she walked away.

Everyone in the restaurant followed from behind, too. Cory was the only person left in the restaurant. This can not be happening.

When he realised that he was the only one left in the restaurant, he followed the crowd.

He wanted to convince himself that he was not insane. Did Sheiley just casually walk out on him? Weren't they just being lovey-dovey? His heart could not take it.

Outside the restaurant, there was a black Corvette parked by the entrance. One of the doors of the car was opened. On the seat of the car were several gifts. Flowers, latest iPhone, apple watch, bags, and lots more goodies.

"This is just a token, beautiful." Harry said. "Just for saying yes to go on a date with me, you'll get all of this." Harry promised.

Sheiley looked swooned and very excited. Her eyes widened, and she gulped at the gift.

But when she turned and saw Cory coming, she fixed her face.

Cory pushed his way through to the front.

"Sheiley, you can't do this. Remember everything we have shared." Cory pleaded. He didn't care that he sounded shameless.

Sheiley sighed.

"I'm sorry, Cory. This has nothing to do with Harry.

I've been wanting to break up with you." Sheiley broke out.

A sudden headache rang through Cory's head when he heard that.

Although Sherlie was talking to Cory, she could not

help but stand beside Harry. This also severed Cory's heart into confetti.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Cory suddenly became furious. "You said you loved me 10 minutes ago! Remember?" Cory wanted to remind her in case she forgot.

"I just..." Sheiley stuttered. It seemed as though she was thinking of what to say.

"I really didn’t want to say this, but I saw it all. I saw

what you did with the other woman that day." Sheiley conned.

"What! What the hell, Sheiley! What woman?!" Cory's eyes held a shot of blood. He was going really crazy.

"You want to break up with me, right? Go ahead and do just that! Stop making things up!" Cory bellowed at her.

Sheiley quickly looked around. There were too many people filming. She realised that Cory had seen through her plot. She doesn't want the people to speak of her baldy. She has a reputation to protect.

But there is someone whose reputation meant nothing to no one. She can freely ruin that, right?

Unexpectedly, Sheiley burst into tears,

"Are you calling me a gold digger?" She sniffled, her voice breaking, "You never like me. Just because the way I liked you makes you feel good, right? Cory?"

The way she cried was endearing, but Cory just felt disgusted. If this was a performance, Sheiley should be getting an oscar.

"That's very evil of him!" A random person said.

"You deserve better, Sheiley." Another person added.

"Dump the pauper!!!" Someone screamed.

When Sheiley realised that the people were on her side, she started to wipe her tears away.

"This crazy bastard!" Harry stepped forward. "How dare you make my woman cry?!" He cursed at Cory.

Harry wrapped his arm around Sheiley's shoulders.

"Come, babe. Let's leave this place." Harry helped her into the car.

All through the process, Sheiley kept her head down, avoiding Cory's eyes. She got into the Corvette, and it drove off.

Cory just stood their like a statue. He just froze in the place.
