Cory pulled the man with him out of the building. Before he stepped out, he had seen the car of Anna parked not far from the entrance. He had made a quick calculation in his mind.

He walked quickly and hurried towards the car, dragging Arold with him. He didn't spare Arold even a breath.

Anna was seen running behind them, trying to catch up with the quickened pace of Cory.

A distance away from that particular building, there were a couple of reporters who were hanging around and looking around expectantly.

They had all heard that Miss Anna of Lord Theo would be coming to the mall today. On top of that, their was an imposing rumor about the new owner of Eagleville coming there, too.

None of the reporters knew from what direction Anna or the new owner would come. They were all eager and jumpy as they looked from one side to the other.

"Cory! Cory, wait!" Anna called repeatedly.

The reporters were gathered at the front of the main mall. Although the executive building was part of

Cory zoomed into the building without having a second thought. He dropped on his knees when he got to the lady. Just a glance at her. Information about her condition popped up at once; she was about to deliver the baby. The loud cry and the urgent reaction of Cory had gotten to the husband and Anna. "Linda!!!" Arold ran into the room, looking really devastated. When Linda, the beautiful pregnant lady, heard the voice of her husband and saw him, her voice got louder in tears, "Arold. The babies. They are coming." Linda cried. Cory looked around the living room and noticed that there was no one in the house. There was no one else in this very huge building. He got up on his feet and hurried to the Arold. He sent a resounding slap across the face of Arold. "You crazy fool! How dare you leave a pregnant woman all by herself? Do you want her dead? In this heavy state of hers?!!!" Cory yelled, almost about to hit him. "This can wait!" Anna screamed. "Let's take her to the hospital f

There was worry splattered across Anna's face. She couldn't move her body an inch. It would seem as though she had turned into a sort of statue. Her eyes were glued to the body that was lying on the bed. Her lips were moving inaudibly as though she was saying some gentle prayers. There were a couple of things going on in her mind that she couldn't find words for yet.She was alone in the guest room with Cory. She had done all she could to make sure that he came back to consciousness, but there was no result. The husband and wife had left the house for the hospital. They wanted to go and confirm whether or not everything was well with the newly born.Cory's face looked quite still and long. He was not cold nor warm. He was a little bit of this and that. In the midst of the running emotions, Anna's phone started to buzz. She was startled by the loud ring tone. She had no idea how much she was lost in thoughts. When she looked at the phone, she realized that she had no other choice t

Cory didn't bother to wait for her. He was deep in thoughts, too. He headed straight towards the receptionist. "Please point me to the restroom." He asked. "It's over there." The lady pointed. "Thank you." Cory nodded with a soft smile and then walked away. He pushed the door open and walked to the end. He brought up the interface of the system. He started to scroll through it. "What happened to me? Why did I pass out all of a sudden?" He muttered, clicking on whatever he thought would be useful. "This has never happened to me. Could the system be malfunctioning?" He couldn't be sure yet, so he didn't want to make hypotheses. He scrolled and scrolled for another moment in a bid to get to the root of this, but he just couldn't find anything. He was getting really exhausted. He was about to close the interface when all of a sudden, a pop-up window appeared. [Ping! Host zoned out.] "Host zone out?" He wasn't sure of what to make of this. When he clicked on the new information

  • The Impervious Courier   Chapter 68

The expression of the doctor was hard to decipher when he gazed at the person who had just walked in. When the doctor had heard Arold talk about the person who helped deliver the twins, he had thought of someone who was advanced in age. Someone who was rather an elderly person who was quiet experienced in other traditional ways of maneuvering medical practices. The fact was that all modern doctors knew that there was always a traditional healer who could go about the medical practices without adopting any of the modern instruments or means. Although the hospitals have been empowered by the government and raised so highly that any suggestions outside of the recommendation of a certified doctor were unusually thrown into the pit and considered useless. Even though these modern doctors knew that there were traditional rulers who could adopt acupuncture for healing quite a number of illnesses. The doctor was still lost in thoughts as he stared at Cory, who stopped right in front of Ar

The doctor froze in his place when his gaze greeted Lord Theo. It would seem as though he had lost every sense of his being. It was as though he had forgotten how to act. So many people across Emerald City have heard of the terrifying name of Lord Theo. They have heard of all the chaotic things he was capable of doing. They have seen him on the TV and other news outlets. But a vast majority of them have never accosted him in person. The doctor and his nurses were one of the many people who were yet to meet him in person. The doctor was trying to say something, but all he could do at that moment was stutter. He dropped his gaze first. When he realised that that was the wrong thing to drop, he dropped on his knees almost immediately. "Lord Theo! What a great and unexpected visit. This is an unusual and an august visit." The doctor said repeatedly, not daring to look the man in the eyes. Lord Theo didn't pay attention for a second. Instead, he walked past the doctor and straight to

Cory could tell that Anna was following from behind, but he didn't wait for her. It wasn't quite hard to tell why he was doing that. He knew that she would have a million and one questions to drown him in. He still didn't think he was ready for any of those yet. But one thing that he knew for a fact was that. Whether or not he liked it, Anna was now a big part of his life. Just as Mara and Elaine are. He still hasn't decided what he would do with her yet, but he knows that time is the best teacher. Time is the best narrator, and it would definitely tell. A myriad of media personnel have already assembled at the front of the hospital. It would seem as though they have been waiting all their lives to do this. How did they know that Lord Theo was at the hospital? Cory really didn't care about it. None of the media persons knew his face. That was a very great thing for him. But he couldn't say much for Anna, and that was why he had to walk faster. He got to the car and got in. He wo

  • The Impervious Courier   Chapter 71

The car pulled over in front of an electric gate. Cory looked to the front from the backseat. The driver wound down the window of the car and was talking to someone. Cory didn't have a hard time seeing the face of the person whom the driver was talking to. The man looked very lanky, and there were a couple of scars across his face. His eyes were red, and his jaws were tightened. The man looked to be nothing shorter than 6'8. For a reason best known to himself, Cory couldn't help but adjust himself in the seat. The man leaned into the car and looked to the backseat. His eyes squinted when he first saw Cory, but then his reactions changed immediately he saw Anna. "My lady. I'm sorry to hold you up. Didn't know you were here." The tough looking man suddenly lost all the vigor and manliness. He looked scared to the end of his wits. "Go back to your post." Anna shooed him off as though he was a fly. Anna seemed to be still caught up in the drama that ensued between herself and Cory.

  • The Impervious Courier   Chapter 72

There was a man who was dressed in a brown suit in a small room. The man seemed to be pouring something into a small cup. Cory stared at the man for a while. He didn't know what to make of this. At least, not yet. He had been walking when something had made him stop forcefully. And then the same force had made him look in the direction of the small room. Then he saw the young man in a brown suit. Cory wasn't sure of how to react to this, so he decided to brush it aside. The man was done pouring the liquid and was standing on his feet. He took notice of Cory and then looked away. "Cory!" Anna's voice called. There was no point standing there for long. Cory picked a pace and resumed walking. Walking into the living, his mind was invaded. He should still be worrying about what had just happened, but he just couldn't. He could see Lord Theo settled down at a very large dining table. Cory's eyes widened when he saw how many courses of meals were all over the table. He hadn't thought

Anna could not understand what was happening. She had stepped to the front, away from Cory, to look closely at the man walking towards her. How could this be her father? She was about to lose her mind. At this point, she had no idea how she was still able to hold up her peace and not go nuts. This was just enough to make her question her sanity. "What's happening? How could this be ---" Anna turned to the back to ask Cory. She suddenly choked on the words. Turning around, Cory was nowhere to be found. It would seem as though he had vanished into thin air. She quickly rushed back into the hut to look for him but she couldn't find him. She ran outside again. She didn't know what to make of all these that were happening to her. She really did wish that she would have an explanation for it. "Did you see him walk out just now?" Anna asked her father, who had stopped walking right in front of the door of the hut. Lord Theo shook his head softly, taking a deep breath. The man slowly p

    Chapter 265

Anna choked so hard on her breath that she almost passed out. She had no idea what was happening or what had just happened. She couldn't wrap her head around it, let alone make a meaning of it. But it was real. She could see it right in front of her. There was someone who had just been sliced into several pieces. "Father..." She was having trouble rolling those words over. She couldn't even move closer to the corpse. The head was still hanging in the air. Thud! The head and neck dropped on the floor. She flinched, almost sprouting some unknown wings. She should move forward and touch the corpse. She should fall on the pieces of her father and weep her eyes out, but she couldn't. This was just way too much for her to process. She was trying to understand how this was possible in the whole wide world. How could it ever be possible? She could recall openly that she had left her father back at the mansion. The old man couldn't even move an inch, let alone get to her. She could see

    Chapter 264

Anna was lost in the moment and couldn't place her own emotions, not even after she had climbed into the car. It was a cab, and Cory had just hailed at the cab. What had just happened in the building was still very much fresh in her mind. There was no way she was going to throw that away or be distracted from it. She took a glance at the corner of Cory's face. Then, the glance intensified, graduating into a keen gaze. Cory, on the other hand, was staring at the front. It would seem as though she was not even there. "Are you not going to explain it to me?" She asked him eventually. Cory still would not look at her. She didn't want to act as though this meant nothing to her. She hated the fact that Cory was ignoring her. She knew that she could not force the words out of his mouth. He had to be willing, else her worries and questions would forever remain unattended to. The manner at which Cory was staring, Anna could deduce that there was something else on his mind. Although they

Anna was lost in the moment. She was just wailing over her own troubles and worries when a sudden voice had come out of nowhere. The back figure of the person walking away from her looked rather too familiar for her to ignore. In fact, she didn't have the luxury of ignoring anything at this point. How could she? Her door had been locked perfectly, and there were even men standing watch outside of the door. She didn't even hear the door open, let alone feel a presence until the words hit her. The recurring facts that ran all over the incident made her push her body up in the bed, as now she was kneeling in bed. "Cory?" She was skeptical as she called his name. She wanted to be sure that she was able to place her confusion and get squared up with the main matter; The real situation was the fact that someone familiar was in the room with her and had asked her to leave with him. Cory hesitated at the door and then turned to look at her again. When their gazes met, he saw a whole la

    Chapter 261

Lord Theo, who was already exhausted from the errands and worries affiliated with the plot they were carrying out, raised his head slowly to look at his daughter, who was fired up by what she was saying. "What are you talking about, Anna? Please go back to bed. You need it." The man dismissed causally as though he had expected her to be up by now. At this point, Anna really didn't know what to feel. She wished that she would be able to choose her feelings, but she couldn't. There was a great measure of disappointment in what she was feeling at that moment. And there was something else, too. Something which she couldn't really reach. She wanted to sigh, but because she was huffing and puffing, she was even having a hard time catching her breath. "Answer my question, father." Her voice became even louder this time. She was trying to make it obvious to him that she wasn't here to joke around. She was here to talk about and review what was bothering her the most. It would be a great

    Chapter 260

Anna's eyes slowly opened. When her eyes opened, she felt fatigue, a pool of fatigue washing all over her body. She shut her eyes again to be certain what the problem could be. She slowly opened her eyes again, confiding in the act of precision and timing. Yet the feeling lingered. The fatigued remained. If there was anything, it even became heavier. She tried to roll in bed to the other side, but she felt extremely weak. She had no idea what was happening to her. Rolling on her stomach, she tried to heave her body to a comfortable position, but nothing seemed to work for her. She fell back on her face in bed and started to grunt. "What the hell is happening to me?" She muttered, seeking to understand what the problem might be. The moment when she rolled from one end of the bed to the other, things were beginning to ease gradually. The fatigue and weariness were beginning to wear off. This time, her mind was clearing out gradually. There was a room in her mind to house as many w

"We must go right away." One of the senators stood up and was headed towards the door. "I'm sorry we can't." The doctor suddenly stepped into the way of the senator. The senator looked so offended and pissed out of his mind. He was staring at the doctor as though the doctor was a piece of garbage who ought not to stand in his presence, let alone lift his gaze to look at him. He scoffed and turned to look at the rest of the senators behind him. "What the hell is wrong with these minions? Is it really our fault that we have indulged them and made them feel so comfortable in our midst?" The senator sounded very judgemental as he rolled those words out. He really didn't care that the doctor could hear him. The senators didn't care about anything at all. They don't care about other people other than themselves. As long as things are going their way, they wouldn't care less to do whatever they thought to be okay. "Now, move out of my way before I rip you into shreds!" The senator thre

    Chapter 258

Linda and her father were as still as a hill. They couldn't even make a sound. They couldn't see each other. Talking about seeing, Linda's eyes were drooping over her breasts at this point. It seemed as though the poison continued to lower the thread of the eyes down and down until perhaps it would get to the soles of her legs. This really didn't matter to her yet because the room was too dark for either of them to see each other. Before they were looked inside this room by the two hefty henchmen, they had seen clearly that it was super bright outside. It was noon. How come when they were locked in here, it was extremely dark? They had not been taken to an underground location. In fact, the underground location they had just come from was well lit and brighter than this. Although she couldn't use her eyes well, Linda could still tell this much that this was a very dark room. "Why is it so dark in here?" She asked her father, looking in the only direction she could afford. Down.
