Ethan Gavin shook his head, "I really didn’t know that Alex could go this far to ask Ava to cancel your project."

"What? Alex did this?" Lily's eyes widened in shock.

"Yes, of course. Why do you think he was calling the manager and telling him to inform Ava Sharp? I saw him slipping a paper to the manager. Maybe that paper was written to cancel the project I fought to give you."

"But," Jasmine struggled to accept what had just happened, "does Alex have the power to do that? He’s just a lowly soldier, and you made him lose his job."

Ethan shook his head again. "Don’t you know that Ava Sharp is famous for keeping a boy toy? I bet Alex is her boy toy for now, but don't worry. Soon, Ava will get bored with him and replace him with another guy soon."

Lily’s face turned mix of sad and anger. "But how could he be so cruel to cancel our project?"

Ethan held Lily's hand kindly. "Alex must have done this because he doesn’t like that I’m close to you. He’s jealous of me, but it’s not his fault.
