The bullet flew straight toward Alex's head.

Just as it was about to make contact, everything froze.

Time itself seemed to halt, leaving the world suspended in eerie silence.

Out of nowhere, the old master appeared in a non-physical form, his presence almost like a mirage as he looked at Alex with calm, knowing eyes.

"Are you sure you're not going to run from this situation?"

Alex chuckled, his voice quiet but resolute. "Run? To save my life? And then what?"

He shifted into a soul form, his body becoming weightless as he floated up, leaving the frozen scene behind.

He flew to the highest point of the castle, where the sky stretched endlessly before him.

The old master stood beside him, the entire world below them locked in stillness.

“Everyone dies someday, right?” Alex asked, a sigh escaping his lips.

“You’re right,” the old master replied softly, his voice filled with the wisdom of countless lifetimes.

“Master,” Alex sighed again, “I’ve broken free from the illusions of this world.
